This Is My Life...

Annie was waiting for someone to open the door.

[At the same time] Mark was inside talking with Mrs. Tuan while she was cooking.

Mark : is dad coming home tonight ?
Mrs. Tuan : he’ll be home soon.
Mark : i havent seen him lately.
Mrs. Tuan : thats because the both of you were busy during the week.
Mark : i just wish that he didnt have work all the time.
Mark : sometimes we can hang out as a family.
Mrs. Tuan : we will one day but we’re all so busy.
Mrs. Tuan : Your father is going to travel again for his job. im going to for a competition.
Mrs. Tuan : and you have to train with Got7.
Mark : I know. I thought it would be different once we moved here.
Mrs. Tuan : it is, everything is.

Then the door rings.

Mrs. Tuan (*hears the door ring & asks Mark) : who can that be ?
Mark : Im not sure, i’ll get it.

Mark gets off his seat and goes to the door.

Annie was patiently waiting for someone to open the door.

Mark opened the door and Annie was surprised to see him again.

Mark (*says while opening the door) : Hi.
Annie (*looks at Mark & recognizes him) : Hi.
Mark (*remembers Annie's face & says) : Oh, your the girl from earlier.
Annie : your the guy from earlier. (*smiles)
Mark : how did you know where i live ? Did you follow me home ?
Annie : absolutely not ! I live next door, i recently moved in today.
Annie : im cooking something and i forgot to buy tomatoes earlier.
Annie : i was wondering if you have any i can borrow.
Mark : why would you think i would let you borrow some ?
Annie : im sorry i asked. i'll leave now. i'll let you get back to whatever your doing.

Annie bowed politely and turned around to leave back to her house.

Mark ran inside his house to his fridge looking for the tomatoes. Mrs. Tuan found it weird for Mark to look for tomatoes in the fridge so she questioned him.

Mark : Ma, do we have any tomatoes ?
Mrs. Tuan : its in the fridge, why ?
Mark : Our neighbor needs to borrow some.
Mrs. Tuan (*looks up from cooking & asks) : Neighbor? Mr. Kwon needs some ?
Mark : No, our other neighbor.
Mrs. Tuan : but no one lives there though.
Mark : now they do. (*goes to the fridge & gets it)
Mark (*says while walking out of the house) : I’ll be right back Ma !
Mrs. Tuan : Okay !

Mark got the tomatoes and ran out of his house looking for Annie. When he found her, he called out her and threw her the bag of tomatoes.

Mark (*calls out Annie) : Hey !
Annie (*turns around & looks at Mark confusingly)
Mark (*toss the bag of tomatoes at Annie)
Annie (*she reflex it fast & caught it)
Annie (*asks) : i thought you werent going to give it me ?
Mark : why do you need tomatoes ?
Annie : they are for tomatoe soup and bread.
Mark : you can cook it ?
Annie : yes. its straight from my mother's recipe book.
Mark : you owe me a meal.
Annie (*looks confusingly & hmms) : Hmm ?
Mark : for the tomatoes.
Annie (*finally gets it & says) : ahh.. next time. (*smiles)
Annie : thank you.

Annie went back into her house and so did Mark.

Mark went back into the kitchen to keep Mrs. Tuan company and talked.

Mrs. Tuan : who was our new neighbor ?
Mark : Im not sure what her name was but she moved in today.
Mrs. Tuan : why did she need tomatoes ?
Mark : she is cooking tomatoe soup and bread.
Mrs. Tuan : she sounds young to cook.
Mark : she looks like my age. Its strange.
Mrs. Tuan : what's strange ?
Mark : it seems like she was living by herself in that home.
Mrs. Tuan : we should invite her to dinner some time.

Mark was still confused about Annie and who she was living in that house.

Annie was in her house cooking and eating dinner by herself. Then she cleaned up the place and took a shower. Afterwards, she headed into the kitchen to wash the dishes.

Then she heard Kevin come home from work. He came into the house and saw Annie washing the dishes. He questioned her as her looked inside of the sink of why there were a lot of dishes to be washed.

Kevin : im back from work.
Annie : your back so fast.
Kevin : its just my first day, my manager let me out early.
Kevin : Did you have company over ?
Annie : Anni, i was cooking.
Annie : i met one of our neighbors earlier.
Kevin : really ? how are they like ?
Annie : there was a guy who looked like the same age as me.
Kevin : thats good. maybe he goes to the same school as me.
Annie : i highly doubt it, he's rich.
Annie : i stopped by the snack shop earlier and bought you something.
Kevin : spicy rice cakes ?
Annie : yeah, its on the table.
Kevin : thanks Annie.
Kevin : did you see the motor bike in the backyard ?
Annie : yeah, is it yours ?
Kevin : dad bought it for you to go to school.
Annie : i don't really need it. i can walk, i like walking.
Annie : besides, school isnt that far from home.
Annie : you take it to work since you work far.
Kevin : are you sure ?
Annie : yes, i'm sure.
Kevin : thanks Annie. I promise to get enough money to raise the both of us.
Annie : i know you will, you promised.

Kevin finished eating and went to his room. Annie was finished washing the dishes and went out to the backyard to sit on the swing for a while.

She thought about what her life was like if she wasn't in so much debt and where she could've gone with everything that she had. Life was so hard for Annie and she couldn't believe it herself. She didn't want to deal with it anymore so she thought about starting a new life.

Afterwards, Annie went to bed.
