This Is My Life...

It was [Friday] at [4PM]. Annie and Kevin had gotten off the plane and arrived to Korea.

They went to baggage claim and took a taxi to their new home.

When they got to their new home, they stood outside and looked at the house. Annie couldn't see her eyes and imagined how pretty it was.

Then she started to talk to Kevin about it.

Annie : its small but its enough for the both of us.
Kevin : you should see the inside Ann (Kevin's nickname to her).
Annie : there's furniture already ? but we barely moved here today.
Kevin : yeah, there's furniture inside.
Annie (*calling out Kevin) : Oppa ?
Kevin : Oh, wae ?
Annie : how did you afford this house ?
Kevin : Taehyun helped paid for this.
Annie (*shocked & turns around to say) : Dad ?
Annie : why would you have anything to do with him ?
Annie : you know that he's out of our lives after mom died.
Kevin : i know your still upset with him but he is still our father.
Kevin : he is still our birth father, the same thing that said in the document.
Kevin : he was just trying to help us rebuild our life together.
Kevin : so as long as we stay here, we have to pay rent starting next month.
Annie : we promised each other that we wouldn't have anything to do with him anymore.
Annie : why do you keep going to him ?
Kevin : because he cares about us even if he has his own family.
Kevin : he has custody over us and he will probably be seeing us more now.
Annie : but your over 21.
Kevin : that doesnt change anything.
Kevin : He doesnt live with us but he has the rights to take care of us his way.
Annie : i don't want to deal with loan sharks anymore, this isn't America Kevin.
Kevin : we're not. their not going to find us here if we're all the way in Korea.
Kevin : so in order for us to survive, i am going to get 2 jobs.
Kevin : you are going to school at Korea Junghwa International Art School and
Kevin : get a part time job. i need you to work part time just to help me out.
Kevin : i can't do it all on my own.
Kevin : Annie, i just want to do whats best for the both of us.
Kevin : you have to trust me on this and we'll get through it together.
Annie : why did you enroll me in that art school ? its expensive.
Kevin : Taehyun and i have decided you to go there, its the best school in Korea.
Annie : can't i just go to a normal school here in Korea ?
Kevin : No.
Annie : why not ?
Kevin : they wouldn't accept someone like us, thats why.
Annie : so they accepted me because Taehyun is rich ? thats not surprising.
Kevin : Annie, its just for one year. then you can decide where to go for college.

Then Kevin and Annie went into the house to look around.

Annie went into her room and unpacked her things.

When Annie was finished, she went around the house in and outside to see where everything was. In the backyard, there was a swing hanging from the tree.

She sat on there for a while and then went to the kitchen to see if there was anything to eat for dinner. Then Kevin came out of his room to tell her that he has work right at that moment.

Annie (*hears Kevin come out of his room) : there's nothing to eat.
Kevin (*looks spiffy reading to work) : just cook something to eat, okay ?
Annie (*looks at him) : where are you going ?
Kevin : I'm going to work at my night shift.
Annie : already ? we just came back from the airport.
Kevin : i know but i have to work to get this rent paid and you too.
Annie : how did you get a job so fast ?
Kevin : i had some friends here to hook me up with. i needed to start as soon as i can.
Kevin : just buy or cook something tonight. use the remaining US money to pay it.
Annie : Okay. should i wait up for you ?
Kevin : don't wait up for me, I'm going to be home really late. sleep early.
Kevin : be careful if your home by yourself Annie.
Annie : alright oppa. you should go, your going to be late.
Kevin : alright, bye.

After Kevin left, Annie went back into her room and opened her clothes cabinet near her bedside.

She spotted a beautiful designed box. She opened it and there was still Korean money in there since when she was little that she collected that her mother gave her to save up. She took half of the money out and out it in her purse.

She closed her house door and headed out to the bank to trade in her US currency to Korean currency.

Bank Person : Hello.
Annie : Hi, i would like to trade into Korean money.
Bank Person : how much ?
Annie (*hands him the envelope of US money) : this much.
Bank Person (*accepts it & counts it)
Bank Person (*after counting it) : this is $5,000 US dollars.
Bank Person : It will be 5,131,000.00 won converted.
Bank Person : is that okay with you ?
Annie : yes.
Bank Person (*gives Annie the korean money) : here.
Annie : thank you.
Bank Person : keep it safe, thank you.
Annie : thank you.

Annie placed the envelope in her purse safely and walked to the supermarket which was 3 blocks down from the Bank she went to.

Annie walked inside and got a basket. She walked around and got what she needed for the house but most of it was food.

When Annie was in the sauce isle, she made a turn. Through that turn, she bumped into a guy who was pushing his cart for his mother.

He hit her side rib where she was injured and she was in pain.

She dropped her basket in pain and held one arm on his cart while holding herself up.

He helped her up and helped her pick up her basket of things.

After that, she looked up and saw the guy. He looked very handsome for his age if she thought his age was still young. He started to ask her some questions if she was okay.

Mark : Im so sorry. are you okay ?
Annie : I'm okay. are you ?
Mark : I'm fine. I'm so sorry about that.
Annie : no, it was my fault. i didn't see you there.
Annie (*holds her basket) : thank you for helping me.
Annie (*takes her basket & bows her head & continues shopping)
Mark (*leaves his cart there & walks over to Annie)
Mark (*stood behind a feet away & watches her from behind)
Annie (*stood near the dairy product & puts her basket down)
Annie (*feels pain in her side)
Mark (*comes over to Annie & asks her) : are you sure your okay ?
Mark : do you need to go to a hospital ?
Annie : Im fine and i don't need to go to a hospital. thank you for your concern.
Annie (*smiles) : i have to go. and don't follow me.
Annie (*leaves to the cashier & disappears)
Mark (*stood there & smiles)

Annie paid for her things at the cashier and walked home.

Walking on the way home, she saw a restaurant near there and went inside to buy some snacks.

As she was waiting for her food to get picked up, she stood there and saw a sign that said help wanted there.

She then asked the lady when she was giving Annie her food.

Lady Song (*gives Annie the food)
Annie : thank you. i saw that the your restaurant is hiring workers.
Lady Song : Yes, we are. are you interested ?
Annie : yes.
Lady Song : do you have any experience in waitressing ?
Annie : Yes, i have worked in America when i was growing up.
Lady Song : thats great ! why dont you come by tomorrow and start working for me ?
Annie : Yes, thank you.
Lady Song : i'll see you tomorrow.
Annie : see you tomorrow !
Annie : Ah, what is your name ?
Lady Song : you can call me Lady Song.
Annie : okay. see you tomorrow. bye !

Annie then walked back to the house. It was already dark and when she got to her house, she stood in front and looked around the neighborhood. She saw that there were a much bigger and rich house next to hers but she didnt mind at all.

She went into the house and put away the things in the fridge.

She took out some of the ingredients she was going to cook with and she realized that she forgot to buy some tomatoes.

She looked at the clock and saw that it was too late and the supermarket had already closed. So she had no other solution but to go to the neighbors next to her (the rich house) and asked for some tomatoes.

She went over there and knocked on the door.

Mark came to the door and opened it.

Annie's eyes widen when she saw that it was the same guy that she bumped into at the supermarket earlier that day.
