Heading to Korea

The morning went by very slow before the bell for lunch. “I hated my second period class. Miss. Dorian is the worst Math teacher ever.” Wayne said when he sat down. “Calm down Wayne. She can’t be as bad as my World Studies teacher, Mr. Dickinson. He acts like he’s one of us and he’s like sixty something years old.” Bayne cried. “My gym class isn’t half bad. I have Miss. Johnson. She’s different. She reminds me of that teacher from ‘The Magic School Bus’ for some odd reason.” Zayne said. Wayne and Bayne looked at each other then at Zayne. “Miss Johnson does seem a little off.” Wayne nodded. Bayne took a bite from his egg sandwich and went through Wayne’s bag. “Bayne. Stay out of my bag or I’ll beat you senseless.” Wayne said. Bayne looked up at Wayne and removed his hand slowly. Zayne gave out a small quiet chuckle. “Hurry up and finish eat. We have Music Theatre next and I want to be early.” Zayne picked up a fried and ate it slowly. “Let’s eat.” Bayne said between bites. “Keep your mouth shut when you eat. No one wants to see that.” Wayne scoffed. Bayne swallowed his food in anger. After they finished their food, they got up and left for the auditorium.

Three weeks and a successful mini album later the three friends got a call from a talent scout in South Korea. “You can’t be serious umma! Kpop star? We’re not ready for this!” Bayne cried. “Yes you are sweetheart. A friend of mine owns a big company in Korea and he wants to see your talent up close and personal. Please do this for me.” Mama Park smiled. “Umma. I don’t want to leave you.” Bayne started to tear up. “Yo Bayne. You have us remember? You’re best friends in the whole wide world?” Wayne pit his arm around Bayne’s shoulders. “That’s right. Let’s go pack. I don’t want to have another class with Miss. Johnson ever again.” Zayne coldly added. Wayne and Zayne went up to their rooms and started to pack their things. “Umma. When are we leaving for Seoul?” Bayne asked. He held his head high while he waited for an answer from his mother. “In three days. I informed the school already and put some money in your bank account. I put ₩10, 000 on your dresser.” Mama Park kissed Bayne on the forehead and went up the stairs slowly. “If this is necessary, then I’ll do it.” Bayne turned around and marched to his room.

One by one they boarded the plane in silence. Bayne looked out the window and sighed. Zayne leaned back into the chair and put his arm over his face. Bayne was busy writing a new song for their first album. No one talked for the entire plane ride to Seoul. “Now arriving in Seoul. I repeat, now arriving in Seoul.” The captain said over the intercom. “That’s us.” Bayne sighed. They got up from their seats and got their luggage from the over head racks. When they got inside the building, they saw some signs with their names on it. “Shall we go to him or go grab some food first?” Zayne asked. “FOOD!!!” Bayne pumped his fists in the air and tripped because of his shoelace. “You are an idiot Bayne.” Wayne sighed. Zayne chuckled. “It’s settled then. We’re going to the people with the signs.” Zayne humbly said. “What the heck Zayne? Why are you doing this?” Bayne dropped his luggage. “Because it’s fun to mess with you.” Zayne flashed a rare yet humble smile. “Let’s go now. We have a lot of work to do now that we’re here.” Wayne patted Zayne’s shoulder. They looked at each other intensely before walking to the man with the signs.
