We are One...For You

*beep*beep*

You woke right away without arguing with the alarm again. You still can’t forget of the horrid moments that happened yesterday. Just remembering them sends you chills. ‘Ok. Ok. Past is past. Today is a new day.’

You looked on the bright side. You did your usual morning routine. And as usual your father ignored you again. Geez! Will he just even say good morning to you for once! Next thing you know you were already on your way to school.

“Hmm…still a lot of time left.” You looked at your watch to realize there is still 45 minutes left before school starts. So you decide to take the long way. A little exercise can’t hurt right?

You were on your way, walking, walking, and walking. When you saw someone really familiar walking in front of you. You swear to God you know who this guys was. You walked faster to pass by him, and yes, you really do know the guy –it was D.O., the Exo guy from Class 3.Oh no! It was an Exo! You want to avoid these guys remember?! Without hesitation, you walked fastly to get past him, and just as you were in front of him,

“Hey!” he called you! You stopped walking. Oh no! This is bad, this is really bad! You were supposed to be not noticed. ‘Should I look back or what?’ you asked yourself. But you walked in a faster pace so he’ll just ignore you.

“Hey, Shin-hee!” he yelled. You stopped walking again. SHIT! Worse, he remembers you.

Now you really can’t turn your back away. You made regrets on being friends with Sehun and Luhan, but you just can’t resist them since there damn too nice. Uh! You had no choice but to look back and face him, but you pretended you don’t know him.

“Uhm, I’m sorry do I know you?” you said naturally.

“Oh, uhm, Hi. I’m D.O., Class 3. You don’t remember me?” he asked you softly.

“Uh, no.” you replied. You hoped he doesn’t notice your big bluff.

“Oh.” He said in an awkward tone. Now the two of you were just standing there awkwardly in the middle of the sidewalk.

“I should get going.” You finally said as turning your back to continue walking on your way to school.

“Wait.” He stopped you. “Since were both going to school, let’s just, uh, walk together.” He said.

What?! Walk together?! But you’ve never walked with anyone in your life. Not even with a dog!

“Uhm-but I” you thought of an excuse.

“Ok. Let’s go.” He said as he started walking beside you. Next thing you knew, you were walking with him on your way to school. You can’t help but notice his features. Big eyes with more white part, neat jet black hair, cute small lips. He was not much of a talker. One silent and mysterious guy.

“So…You really don’t remember me?” he asked.

“Uh, yeah.” You replied. This conversation is getting weirder and weirder. You noticed he grabbed something from his bag. It was a pack of cookies. Chocolate chips. You’re favourite.

“Want some?” he offered you the pack. Should you accept it? Your mouth was watering for desperation on sinking your teeth on those soft chewy delicacies. But you decided to refuse.

“I’m alright.” You started regretting why you refused.

“You sure?” he smirked. Judging by his smirk, you think he knew you really want those badly. Evil guy. He started placing the pack of cookies back to his bag, but you couldn’t resist the temptation and just grabbed the pack from his hands and started eating a piece.

“I knew you were not gonna say no.” He grinned. You smiled and starting taking a bite. WOW! It was delicious! The tastiest cookie you’ve tasted.

“Hmmm…This is really good.” You said, your mouth full. “Who made these?”

“I did.” He smiled. A guy who can bake? Awesome.

“Well, this is really delicious.” You confessed.

“You can have it if you like.” He looked down. You were really flattered on how nice he was. You smiled at the thought.

“Thanks.” You finally said. After a few minutes, you finally arrived at school. “Thanks for walking with me.” You said. “And oh, for the cookies.” He laughed.

“Sure. Anytime.” He moved on to his classroom as you did also.

“When you walked at the room and checked the time, there was still 15 minutes left. Gosh, you just wished classes will start before you started dying of boredom.

You rested your chin on your palm and started looking out the window. Hmm. What a nice day. Just as you were enjoying your moment of piece, the Exo boys from your class started walking into the room. Well, not all of them actually, you noticed Kris and Xiumin wasn’t there yet, so that means it was only Tao, Kai, Chanyeol and Baekhyun. You just ignored them anyways and continued your little daydream.

‘Aaah~ Peace.’ You thought, slowly closing your eyes. But then an annoying noise began popping your dream bubbles. You looked around to see what hat annoying sound was. You saw Kai slowly dragging his chair to place. ‘God, can’t he just lift it!’ you slammed your face on the table trying hard to ignore the noise and finally, it stopped. Few minutes passed and more people was starting to enter the room. Everyone was having a good time sharing moments and making moments. Then out of the blue, Chanyeol started talking grabbing everyone’s attention. He started cracking some jokes to cheer everyone up. ‘He is one active kid.’ You said to yourself.

“The teacher said: Why are you talking during my class?!” he said while imitating the voice of an angry professor. “And the student was like: WHY ARE YOU TEACHING DURING MY CONVERSATION?!”

The whole class bursted out laughing. You found it funny to but you just decided to flash a smile. Next thing you know, Chanyeol and Baekhyun was staring at you. ‘What? Do I have something on my face?’ you thought as you started wiping your face. Then the both of them giggled. Ok, weird much.

After a few more minutes Kris walked in, being the usual cold guy that he was. He sat behind Tao and just…nothing. 5 more minutes until classes will start, everyone was around, well except for Xiumin. This guy is always late you thought. Maybe he got bumped by someone. Then he arrived and like yesterday, he was taking time to catch his breath.

“Umin-hyung! Where have you been? Why are you always late?” Kai asked.

“I have my- reasons.” He said while catching his breath. Then just as you know it, the teacher started walking in.

“Morning class.” Your science professor said. “Morning.” The class replied.

“Today class, I will group you for research for the first semester. You will be in groups of 5. For the first semester you will be teamed up with your classmates. For the second semester you will be teamed up with students from Classes 1 and 3.” He said in a straightforward manner.

Oh no! This is bad. You barely even get along with these people! You heard the mean girls squeal, who were hoping they get teamed up with the Exo members. “I hope I’ll be with Kris.” Hyun-Ok said. Gosh these girls. Even in a serious educational matter, they still think of fangirling. You rolled your eyes. You wish you’ll never be teamed up with anyone of those girls, or the Exo.

“Ok, first group.” Your teacher continued. “ Ki, Sim, Byun Baekhyun, Kahm, Gye.”
After a few more groups, the teacher started announcing the 5th group. You almost fainted on hearing the group’s members: “Seong Shin-hee, Kris, Park Chanyeol, Kim Jongin and Tao.”

NOOOOO! Why does this keep happening to you. 3 Exo members and a mean girl, life doesn’t get better. “Ok guys, for the rest of time, I want you to meet up with your groups and plan things out.”

Great. Now you were gonna interact with them. ‘Calm down Shin-hee.’ You said to yourself. ‘This is a research. You are doing this to get good grades.’ You took a deep breath. You zombie walked towards your group mates who were already in a group. You noticed Hyun-ok can’t take his eyes of Kris. Chanyeol started breaking the silence.

“Ok. So what are we gonna do now?” he asked. You stood silent.

“Let’s assign our roles first in the group.” Tao finally spoke.

“Ok. Good idea.” He took out a notepad and started writing on it. “So who’s gonna be the leader?” Chanyeol asked.

“I think Kris-hyung should be the leader. He’s smart and responsible.” Kai suggested. What? The cold guy is responsible? Well you really don’ know him that much so you just didn’t protest.

“I totally agree.” Hyun-ok said while slowly touching Kris’ shoulder. Kris just shrugged off to remove her hand. ‘Oooh. Burn.’ You thought.

“Next. Secretary.” Chanyeol continued.

“Ooh me! I wanna be Kris oppa’s secretary.” Hyun-ok said desperate to get that position. Oppa? Now she’s calling him Oppa?! This girl is intense.

“Since you’re the one writing already. Just be the secretary.” Tao said. And he does have a good point.

“Ok, me then.” Said Chanyeol as he wrote his name. Hyun-ok frowned at the thought.

“Now for the main research leaders. I mean, everyone’s gonna work but someone’s gotta lead us.” Chanyeol explained. “So Tao and uh…Shin-hee.”

What?! You research leader. Worse, you are paired up with the scariest dude in Exo. ‘Are things gonna get worse each day?’ you asked yourself. ‘Huh.’ You sighed. You’re appointed anyways, so there’s nothing you can do about it. You just stood there being the usual silent person you are.

“What about me?” Hyun-ok barged in.

“Uhh…You and Kai will be uh…contributors!” Chanyeol finally decided. Hyun-ok frowned while Kai just nodded in approval. “Ok. So leader, is Kris-hyung, me as secretary, Tao and Shin-hee as research leaders and Kai & Hyun-ok, contributors. Those with pairs, just decide on what you want to do.”

‘Wow.’ You thought. Chanyeol could pretty much be a good leader. Better than Kris who was just there sitting motionless listening to what everyone was said. So as he ordered, you went to Tao even though your hate for him was burning. That scary dude freaks her out, really.
“So what do you think we should work on?” He said, with rather a gentle voice. You were expecting it to be creepy.

“Uhm, how about…” You and Tao continued talking until the period ended. There were a lot of things you realized about him. Your first impressions of him were even the exact opposite of who he is. He was friendly, gentle and quite nice. You even think his personality doesn’t fit with his looks, being a nice guy with fiery looks.

Lesson learned: Never do judge a book by its cover.
