~Your POV~

Ugh.. It’s 6am so that means it’s time to get up and get ready for school and work.. I hate school but it’s better than staying at home with the evil witch. After brushing my teeth and putting on my uniform, I start to walk down the stairs but could I smell something weird. It smelt like something was burning so I run to the kitchen to see stepmom standing a meter away from the stove trying to stop the fire with a towel. She notices me and yells at me to stop it. Like seriously? At a time like this you’re still going to yelling at me?
“Mi Cha! Hurry up and stop this fire!” I saw a little fright in her eyes as she said this, and to be honest I was enjoying this moment. I snicker and walk towards the stove. I put out the fire and stepmom falls to the ground.
“I thought I was going to die. I’m never going to touch that stove ever again.” Then she looks over to me “You will be doing all the cooking for the rest of the month. That woman decided to go on a vacation and I don’t have time to find another person.”
”Why are you up so early? And what were you trying to make?” What would be so hard to do in the morning that would make you almost burn the house down?
“I was.. I was trying to make some pancakes. I couldn’t sleep and I was hungry.” She answered quietly. Was she embarrassed that she couldn’t do something that simple?
“Okay then..” I check my watch, it was almost time for my morning job. “Well, I gotta go! I need to go deliver the milk and newspapers. Oh and I won’t be home after school, I got a job.” I rush out the door onto my bike before she could complain.

After finishing my morning job, I ride my bike to school. I was almost there when I heard the warning bell. Sh*t! I pedal faster hoping that I won’t be late. I park my bike and run to my classroom and sit in my desk. As I sat down, the final bell rung. Safe! I was out of breath and everyone was staring at me. I could hear whispers all around me.
”Gosh, why is she so loud? Did she kill someone or something?”
”Look at her, her hair’s all messy. Even though she’s already ugly, she should at least look neat.”
“Again with those hideous glasses! Can’t she get a new pair or is she a beggar?”
“Look at her uniform! It’s so dirty! Does she even clean it?”
I ignore the mean comments. I’m used to it, there’s no need to get so worked up over it, I tell myself. But it didn’t work this time, I could feel the tears come. Before they could see my tears and laugh at me again, I put my head down. Then I feel someone tap my shoulder. The whispers got louder. Who the fudge is trying to make this worse?! I look up to see a boy with a warm smile.
”Umm.. You’re in my seat.” Huh? His seat? But this is.. I look around to see my desk in front of me. Oops..
”Oh.. Sorry..” I take my stuff and move to my actual desk. The boys just smiled and sat down.
“No problem. I’m Myungsoo, Kim Myungsoo. But you can call me L like the rest of my friends.”
I turn around to see his hand sticking out, waiting for me to shake it.
”He.. Hello... L. I’m Kim Mi Cha.” I shake his hand but then I realized something. “Friend? I’m your friend?” I asked. No one ever wanted to be friends with me, well there was this one time but he wasn’t exactly considered a friend.. (A/N: Remember this, it could be important!)
“Yeah, I want to be your friend. Do you not want to be friends with me? It’s fine if you don’t want to.” L’s head lowered a little and his voice got quieter.
“No! No.. That’s not it.. I’d be glad to be your friend.” I felt happy, my first real friend! L looked up and I saw that beautiful warm smile again.
“Really? Thanks! Do yo-” He was cut off by the teacher’s voice.
“Class has started. Everyone back to your seats and turn to page 127.”
I smiled, I have a friend! I wonder what he wanted to ask me..

--Lunch--

I was at my locker putting my stuff away when I saw L walk towards me.
"Do you want to eat lunch with my friends?" He asked.
"Sure! But I need to do something first.. Where should I find you?"
"Um.. How about the big tree near the basketball court?"
"Okay, see you there." I smile as L walks away. It feels nice to have a friend. I was about to go as well but someone pushed me to the ground, causing me to land on my bad leg.. It started bleeding again.. Sh*t! I look up to see who the fudge the jerk was, turns out it was four girls.
"Yah! Stay away from Myungsoo Oppa!" One of the girls shout.
"Myungsoo? Ah.. You're talking about L."
"This b*tch, how dare you call him L?! Even we aren't allowed and we've known him longer."
I got up but someone slapped me and I fell back down. I curled up into a ball and they starting kicking me really hard. L.. L! Save me! I scream in my head. But it was obvious he wasn't going to come. I cry silently and my vision got blurry. The last thing I saw was someone yell at them and they ran. He tried to pick me up but I had already passed out..

~Sungjong's POV~

I was going to go meet L for lunch when I saw a group of girls kicking someone.
"Yah! Stop it!" I ran towards them but they had already left. I get down and hold the girl up. She looked really beaten up. "Hey.. Hey! Are you okay?" The girl looks at me and says something before she passes out.
"L.." L? Does she know L? No.. Probably not, L doesn't let any girls call him that. I pick her up and bring her to the infirmary. The nurse checks her wounds and says that she'll be fine. Phew! Good thing she's safe. I check the clock. Oops! L and the guys are probably wondering where I am, better go text them. After texting the guys the situation, I walk back into the room to check up on the girl.

~Your POV~

I open my eyes to see that I'm in the infirmary. Why am I here? Then I remembered what happened. Ah.. I wonder who brought me here. Was it L? I tried to get up but I didn't have enough strength so I fell back down. A boy rushes over to me and asked if I was okay.
"Are you okay? You shouldn't move around so much, your wounds could open again."
"Um.. Who are you? Were you the one who brought me here?" Why do you care about me?
I wanted to ask that as well but that would be too awkward.
"Oh! Um.. I'm Sungjong. And you are?"
"Mi Cha, Kim Mi Cha. Thank you for bringing me here but I need to go meet my friend." I get off the bed and slowly walks towards the door.
"Where are you going? You should be resting!" He shouts at me and I fall to the ground. Aish! Why do I have to be so weak? I try to get up but it was useless so Sungjong helped me up.
"Since it doesn't seem you'll be able to go alone. I'll bring you there. Where did you want to go?" Why is he so nice to me? We’ve never met before..
"To the big tree by the basketball court." Weird.. That's where L and the guys are, Sungjong thought. He grabs my arm and puts it around his shoulder and puts his hand on my waist. After a few struggles, we make it to the tree.

~L's POV~

It's been 25 minutes, where could Mi Cha be? The guys got bored so they went to play basketball. I look around and I see Sungjong with a girl. Who is she? Are they dating? As they got closer I realized the girl was Mi Cha. Mi Cha? Why is she limping? Please don't tell she's the one that got beat up by a group of girls Sungjong told me about. I rush over to help Sungjong and Mi Cha.
"Sungjong! What happened?"
"Well, this girl here said she had to go to the big tree. But she couldn't walk properly so I-"
Mi Cha interrupts him and hugs me.
"L! I was so scared.. I thought I was going to die back there." I could feel her tears on my chest.
"It's okay. You're fine now." A little while later, Mi Cha finally calmed down.

I hope you liked this chapter! Maybe this one was a bit too long? Haha.. I got so caught up in writing it, I didn't know how long it became. I was starting to get a little wary on whether or not I should continue but then I noticed that I had a subscriber! Even though it's only one, it motivated me to continue.
