The Perfect Bride

Yoomi was brought into another big living room on the fourth floor. This one was different. Instead of being all white, it was all painted and decorated in all different shades of blue. When Yoomi and Jason reached the living room, everyone but one was already there, including Nai Nai. They all stood up when they saw Jason and the girl walk into the middle of the room. Luhan came into the living room from another direction. He was still fixing his tie. When he looked up, he stopped in his tracks. His eyes wouldn’t leave the young girl that was standing in the middle of the living room. Her gaze was on the floor while his’ was on her. Luhan’s arms slowly went to his side.

She’s beautiful.

It was quiet for a whole minute. EXO and Nai Nai were watching Luhan stare at his new bride. Quiet smiles appeared on their faces.

I’m sure that they’ll be the perfect couple, Xiumin thought.

I have good taste in people, Nai Nai smirked.

Damn, if Lu-ge doesn’t want her, I’ll take her, Tao thought.

The hell? She looks younger than I do, Sehun thought.

Yoomi could feel judgemental stares coming from everyone in the room. She dared not to look up. Her heart skipped a beat when someone finally decided to break the scary silence.

"Nai Nai, I’m here," Luhan said.

"I see that. You’ve been standing there for a while, staring at your bride," Nai Nai smirked.

This lady. Sometimes I wonder if she’s a teenager in disguise, Luhan thought.

B-bride?! What are they talking about?!! Yoomi screamed in her head. What’s happening?

Luhan sighed and walked to an empty seat on the couch between Suho and Xiumin. Jason looked back to Yoomi. He stepped aside. Nai Nai looked at the scared girl and smiled.

"No need to be so afraid, my child. I’m now your grandmother. Please call me Nai Nai. Take a seat," Nai Nai said.

All of these words were confusing her.

Grandmother?

The lady obviously had an accent, so she wasn’t a native Korean. Yoomi was too scared to even move her legs. She didn’t even look at the lady who was talking to her, which she knew was very disrespectful, especially since the lady was a grandmother. Yoomi held her hands even tighter.

I don’t understand what’s happening, Yoomi was on the verge of screaming to let her go.

Suddenly she felt someone pull on her arm. She fell down onto the couch beside her. She was now sitting next to the person who had did that.

"Jongin!" Suho yelled.

"What?! She was getting on my nerves. No one ever ignores Nai Nai," Kai said.

Suho shook his head.

"I am sorry Miss Jung," Suho said.

Yoomi’s ears perked up.

How did he know my name?

"Oh? Joonmyun, have you already read her profile?" Nai Nai asked.

"Yes, this morning to be exact because Luhan asked me to," Suho said politely.

Nai Nai smiled as she looked at Luhan who wasn’t returning her gaze. He seem to be focused on Yoomi. Luhan was examining her face.

She looks so innocent, Luhan thought.

His heart began to beat irregularly. An all too familiar feeling. A feeling in which he hasn’t felt for four long years now.

I’m falling for her. This is impossible. It wasn’t supposed to happen this way. How can you make my heart beat like this, Jung Yoomi? No, I can’t. You’re just like her Yoomi. I know it. You can’t make you way into my heart now. Not now. Not ever. I won’t let you.

Luhan didn’t want to believe it. He didn’t want to feel these feelings. He thought that only one person could make him feel this way, but he was wrong. It wasn’t that he hated these feelings, but he didn’t want Yoomi to be the cause of them. Luhan pushed the thought away as he looked away from the girl.

"What do you think about her?" Nai Nai asked to no one in particular, but everyone knew that she was directing the question to Luhan.

"I don’t know," Luhan said.

Nai Nai smiled.She looked at the girl that seemed to be very uncomfortable at the moment.

"Yoomi," Nai Nai said softly.

Yoomi was tensed up. She was thinking of ways of escaping, but every time she thought of a way those words popped into her mind again.

"I will find you."

When Yoomi heard her name being called, she softened up. Her gaze was still on the ground.

"You must be wondering as to why you’re here. Am I correct?" Nai Nai asked.
Yoomi slowly nodded. Nai Nai smiled.

"I am sorry for not informing you sooner, but you will be marrying my grandson: Lu Han. CEO of Lu Enterprises."

Yoomi’s eyes doubled in size. For the first time that day, Yoomi’s head shot up as she looked at the older women sitting before her in shock.

No wonder these people look familiar. They’re EXO. Young genius CEO’s!

Yoomi blinked several times. Her hands now were becoming white because she was holding them together so tight. Some of EXO gasped when they finally saw her beautiful, flawless, and innocent face. Her big eyes were forming puddles as tears threatened to fall. Nai Nai forced a smile.

"I am sorry, my child. Please forgive me. I know that you are still young. I also know that you were treated wrong in your previous home. But, please. Let me give you another chance to live the life of your dreams. Let me give you the love that you never received from your parents. Let my grandson Lu Han become your loving husband," Nai Nai said sincerely, as if she were talking to her own granddaughter

Tears flowed down Yoomi’s cheeks. She wanted to reject the kind halmeoni, but she didn’t know how to. Words weren’t coming out of her mouth. She couldn’t bring herself to say anything. She now knew why she was here. Yoomi was going to become the Lu Han’s bride. She was going to be rich. She was going to be the most envied woman in all of South Korea, but she wanted none of that. All she wanted to leave this house, to start her own life somewhere far far away from Korea all alone. But, she knew that that dream was far out of reach from her grasp.
