One True Love

~Your P.O.V~
I drove as fast as I could, trying to avoid all the red lights. Kris ws giving me directions. After we reached the hospital, I told Kris to park the car so I could go inside. I ran to the reception desk and demanded my parents' room number. They looked so scared of me that they immideately told me that my parents were in room 506 and 507. I ran as fast as I could to their room ( the heels don't exactly help when i'm trying to run) and saw Bryan outside their room, looking lifeless. I sat down next to him and he didn't even realise that i was sitting next to him. He loooked so zoned out. I tapped him on the shoulder and he jumped. As soon as he realised it was me, he hugged me. I patted him on the back and said that "Everything's going to be all right."
We waited for the doctors to come out of the rooms. We were holding hands tightly and praying that both of them would be fine. Then Kris came in and sat next to me. I held his hand with my other hand and squeezed it. His phone suddenly rang so I told him to take it. he went outside to take the phone call. After he left, Bryan looked at me and asked " Boyfriend?"
"No!"
" But you like him?"
"No! He's Kris! From EXO! Do you not remember?"
" Yeah. But you like him"
"As an idol and a friend, yeah."
" You fancy him."
"No I ---"
The doctor cleared his throat catching both of our attention. We both stood up and bowed to the doctor. " We have some good news and some bad news." He said.
I squeezed Bryan's hand hard and he squeezed back.
"Well, I'm afraid your mother... she wasn't strong enough. But the good news is that your father, he has some hope of living. He's in a critical state, but we might be able to save him. We don't know when he's going to wake up though." He said, like how all doctors say it.
" So, he's.... h-he's in a c-coma?" I asked.
"Yes." the doctor said. " You can try to wake him up. But now, excuse me, I have some important meetings. I recommend you talk to the nurse to know more about his health." With that, he left.
I just sat there on the bench, thinking what to do. I didn't have enough money to pay for dad's hospital fees. I need to get a job, i need to work hard during training so I can debut quicker, I need to get a cheaper appartment which means I need to leave my current appartment. I need to work harder in school and not let anyone come in my way, not James, not Soo Young the bully in school, not EXO, not anyone. I need to be independant. I need to send Bryan to the U.S so he can live with our relatives and get better education. I don't want him to suffer.
I was thinking so hard that I hadn't realised that Kris had came back.
He waved his hand in front of my face causing me to snap out of my thoughts and concentrate on him. " Suho just called. He said our schedule is early in the morning tomorow so I need to go back there early. I told him that I would ask you and go, but if you want me to stay, it's fine, I understand."
"It's fine Kris. Thank you. i mean it. For everything. I don't know if i would have even made it here if it wasn't for you. So I really appriciate it. Thank you. Kris, can you please do me another favour before you leave?" I asked him
"What is it?" He asked.
" Erm, I was wondering if you well... can you please not tell the other members about this?"
"Why not? You know that we all worry about you."
" Well you see, i don't want them to treat me different because they know that I don't have my mom with me anymore and that my dad is in a coma. Please. Please don't tell them. Last thing I want is sympathy." I begged him. To my surprise, he understood.
He left after I convinced him to leave which took about 5 minutes. Then I looked over at Bryan who looked lost in his own world. He looked like all the life had been sucked out of him. It hurt to see him like this. I hugged him and he started crying. I tried hard not to cry with him. I patted him on the back. We stayed like that for about 25 minutes. Finally after we both got our head round what was happening, we decided that crying was not going to help any more.
" How are you going to get home?"I asked him.
" I don't know. Maybe the bus."
" I'll drop you. And by the way, get ready to go to America. You're going to be living with uncle and aunt now." I odered him
" But-"
"No buts, I don't want my brother to suffer, you're still at a age to be educated."
" What about you? Aren't you at the age to get educated? How will you pay for your fees? How will you pay dad's hospital fees? How will you pay your house rent? Water bill? Electricity bill?" He fired questions one by one.
" I'll manage. I'll start working. Thankfully, I won't need to send you money over to U.S because the education is free. Don't worry, I'll look after dad and as soon as he wakes up, I'll send him over to the U.S so that he can get better treatment. I'll just have to work extra hard so that I can debut quicker. Don't worry about me. Okay? Now, as soon as you get home, pack your bags and be ready to catch a flight for tomorrow morning. I'll book one later for tomorrow morning. I'll text you the details."
" What about you? I don't want to leave you alone here."
"I told you already, I'll manage."
"Where will you get the money to book the ticket anyway?"
" I've been saving. Anyway and if it isn't enough, I'll sell Blush."
" Your car? No way, dad gave it to you as a present."
" I know. I'll just have to tell the person to hold on to it. Anyway enough, you should get some rest. don't worry, I'll take care of dad."
We hugged one last time and we got in the car. I dropped him home and I drove home. It was around 2am when I got home. When I opened the door, I was surprised to see Kris and Kai in my room. What?
" What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be sleeping?"
They both ignored my question.
Kai: Where were you?
Kris: Are you okay?
They both asked at the same time.
" I was out and yeah I'm fine" I gave Kris a weak smile. " You guys should go and get some rest, you've got early morning schedules tomorrow. Plus I've got school too. Good Night."
On their way out, Kris hugged me and told me it was okay to let it all out. I thanked him and they left. I was so tired that I crashed out on my couch.
Next morning, I woke up late. I wasn't even bothered to hurry up, I just took my time. I went for a shower. After my shower, I came out and looked at my self in the mirror an I saw a totally different person. The girl had red puffy eyes, dark circles. She didn't look like me at all. I put on some make up to stop me looking like a zombie. I put on something casual.
I got out of my door. I felt bad for leaving on Sehun's birthday so I left him a note on a sticky note pad and stuck it at his door. Then I left for school. I went inside the classroom which was in the middle of a lecture. I bowed to the teacher and said sorry for being late. He told me to stay after the lesson because it was the second time being late. I shrugged. I walked up to my seat and saw James sitting in my window seat, I didn't want to ruin his day by talking to him so, I just sat down. From the corner of my eyes, I could see him looking at me but I just ignored him. After about 10 minutes of lecture, an announcement came that I had to go the principal's office immediately. I stood up and left anfter the teacher allowed me to but I left my stuff in the classroom. After I reached the principal's office, I bowed at him. He smiled at me. I asked him why he called me and he said that the hospital called and said that your dad had woken up. I was so happy to hear that. I jumped from my seat. He smiled at me an said I could visit my dad. I thanked him countless times and left his office. I ran to my classroom and slammed the door open which caused everyone to look at me. I ignored them. I just ran to my seat and put my stuff in my bag. I grabbed my bag and ran out of the classroom ignoring the teacher calling me and also James calling my name. I ran all the way to the car park and started driving to the hospital. After I got there, I guess the receptionist recognised me, she led me to my dad's room.
