Cupid on The Sidelines

Simple Happiness

The rain continued to pour as Hyesun continued to pull Youngmin's jacket down for no one to recognize her. She was still trying to hide her identity from officias who may recognize her, or she will soon encounter as she scouts for customers on the streets. From the narrow street she was left alone on, she turned right, walked a few paces, and then headed to another right, continuing to a left until she was greeted by their dog. A loud bark, welcoming her as it snuggled by her leg.
"It tickles," she commented as she patted their dog on the head as it continued to prance around. She giggled softly at it raised its front paws up.
"Eomma, I'm home," she sais as she opened the door, it squeaked slightly.
She took her shoes off as she entered the room as she peeked by the kitchen, her head popped out from behind.
"Eomma~" She hummed as she stepped out from behind the wall and entered the small kitchen. She hugged her mother from behind as her chin rested on her mother's shoulder.
"You seem happy today, dear," her mother said as she glanced at her daughter.
"Well, I got a few extra cash than usual," she replied as she let go of her mother.
"And what else? Any tests you got perfect? How was school?"
"Eh... school was... erm.. the usual." She replied as she rubbed the back of her neck as she felt the soft cloth of the jacket she's been wearing.
"That's a nice jacket, sweetie, where'd you got that from?"
"Erm... it's..."
"I'm homeeeee~" Yeonhee hummed as she entered the house, dropping her bag by the door. She walked towards the kitchen to greet her aunt.
"Oh, I see Hyesun came early." The younger cousin said as she caught sight of Hyesun who wasn't usually home at this time and would probably return an hour or two later.
"Omoooooo~" Yeonhee's eyes widened as she saw the jacket her cousin was wearing.
"Isn't that Youngmin oppa's jacket?" She said, smirking as her aunt began to look at Hyesun.
"It's nothing. He just let me borrow this," she said in a flat tobe as she took the jacket off.
"Oh~ The next thing I find out both of you are dating someone." Hyesun's mother said as she eyed the two.
"Hyesun, remember what you promised," she reminded her daughter.
"That I won't date anyone untill I'm thirty."
She kept that promise and even if dating was a trend, she wouldn't care. She was focused on their family. Not a time did she feel jealous over her cousin and best friend's popularity among boys.
She'd just stick to matching other people rather matching herself with someone. Commitment to someone else other than her family and friends is out of her league.
"Maybe you'll keep that. Maybe not." Her cousin slyly smiled.
"I will," she replied, puffing her cheeks.
"If you say so," Yeonhee hummed.
"Go get changed for awhile," Mrs. Jung said as she took a pot holder.
"Nae," the two said in unison as they both ran towards the stairs.
They were sort of dripping wet, well Yeonhee was since both Kwangmin and she decided to go play in the rain.
"I didn't know Youngmin oppa and you were close," Yeonhee said.
"We aren't."
"Who are you gonna pair up this time?"
"Yoohyun." She said with a sigh.
"Doesn't she know what happened last year?"
"She knows... she doesn't care."
"Well, good luck to you then."
They shared the same room and changing in front of each other isn't a problem. They headed diwn as an inviting aroma greeted them on their way.
"Curry!" They squealed.
