Right Around the Corner
“Okay, as you know summer break is near and that means your final music project.It’ll be due three weeks from now.” Miss Ryu Hong Mii said. Everyone nodded and got into groups of 2 or more. Jae Su, Jae Ku and Zelo became a group. “Okay. So what song are we going to do?” Jae Su asked. “Umm, let’s see. We can do ‘Sexy, Free and Single’ by Super Junior or maybe ‘Fantastic Baby’ by Big Bang.” Jae Ku smiled. “What about One Shot by B.A.P? We can do your group right Z?” Jae Su asked. “It’ll be easy. We already know the song by heart. But wouldn’t it a little more challenging if we did something else?” Zelo pondered.
After class Jae Su and Zelo stayed in the auditorium for dance practice. Jae Ku waited for Min Kyu. Jae Ku and Min Kyu always walk together from school on Tuesdays and Thursdays when Jae Su, Zelo and Sung Kyu had dance practice. Jae Ku’s phone rang. His ringtone was Mona Lisa by MBLAQ. “Hyung…You’re here...I’m just waiting for a friend…she’ll be around in a few…Yeah…I’ll be out with her…Yeah…Of course hyung…*laughs*…She’s here…We’re coming out now. See you then.” Jae Ku hung up as Min Kyu and Sung Kyu got close. “Come on Min Kyu. Hurry.” Jae Ku said as he grabbed Min Kyus’ wrist. “Later Jae Su and Zelo!” Min Kyu called. They laughed. “Later Jae Ku, see you tomorrow. Bye Min Kyu.” Min Ho said as he walked pass him. Min Kyu waved to him. “Later Min Ho!” Jae Ku called.
“Okay everybody. Since this is our trio practice for nationals we get an extra hour to practice.” Jae Su said. Sung Kyu got on stage and Zelo started the music. It was a mash up of ‘Warrior’ by B.A.P and ‘Keep You’re Head Down’ by TVXQ. They finished their rehearsal at 6:30 that evening. They usually done at 5:30. Sung Kyu waited outside the gates for her mom to pick her up. Zelo and Jae Su waited with her. “Bye boys! See you tomorrow at lunch!” Sung Kyu called. They nodded and waved. They started to walk to A+ Coffee, the local coffee shop that MBLAQ tends to go to. They sat down in their usual spot. A table for two, near the window, in the corner.
“I think we can win the nationals. Unless they show again this year and take first place.” Zelo sighed. He took a long sip off his coffee. “I hope something really bad happens to ’em” Jae Su chuckled. Zelo laughed at him. They continued to talk until it was 7:00. They went home together like they always do. “Nationals is right around the corner.” Zelo said. “Five weeks from now. We’ll win don’t worry.” Jae Su said as his took Zelos hand. They looked at each other and smiled.
