Chapter 7: The Weekend
~SEVEN~
THE WEEKEND
KAI’S POINT OF VIEW:
“It’s nothing. Just a goodbye thing usually a friend do.” FRIENDS. I lied. I don’t want it to be friends.
“Oww…” she said while nodding.
“I’m sorry about last night.” She utters. Hmm? What should she be sorry about?
“Remember the text I sent you last night? I-I was wrong typed. It should be a smiling face and not a kissing face. You know… what I mean… right?”
FROZEN. There’s a part inside of me had been tamed. For a second I feel like blood failed to flow in my heart.
“Kai?” with her voice, I finally response.
“Uhh… it’s-it’s fine.” That’s the only word I uttered.
“It’s better. Oh, I should go to my class now. I’ll be late.” She said.
“Yeah, sure. Thanks for the breakfast.” With you. I want to add but I should not. She left a warm smile, enough to make me feel better, though I know there’s something in me has malfunctioned. I watch her as she walks moderately fast while her long, shiny hair moves with the wind.
KYUNG SOO’S POINT OF VIEW:
Emergency meeting? What an excuse Kyung Soo. Yeah, I made a crazy excuse just to get away from Yumae, to her presence, I can’t take it anymore. The real thing is, I’ve gone crazy. The whole day I just spy on her, funny right? I want to get away from her but then I am following her. Weird? I still wanted to be with her unless she didn’t know. From her class, I’m secretly peeking at the window to see her, also in the cafeteria, I’m a few tables away from her until she was about to go to her dorm room around 4pm. I keep myself hidden so no one will notice me.
“Ready?” it’s Baekhyun. He’s picking up Yumae at the lobby.
“Yep! I’m all set.” Yumae replied. Baekhyun put his arm around her shoulders and they left happily.
Kyung Soo you’ve gone nuts today. You followed her the whole day and yet you found yourself alone and stuck again. I talk to myself.
YUMAE’S POINT OF VIEW:
Finally! I’m at the guest room at Baekhyun’s house. It’s so huge. Feels like this bedroom is twice the size of our house in the province! I lay on the bed and take a look at the whole room. It’s very pretty!
*Tock! Tock! Tock!
Someone knocks on the door.
“Come in.” I said, opening the door and there stood a beautiful lady that looks like a little older than me.
“Hi Yumae.” She greets me. She has a bright smile just like Baekhyun does. How did she know my name?
“Maybe you’re thinking of who I am, right?” she asked while she sits in the corner of the bed. I nod as an agreement.
“Well, I’m Kelli Wu.” Kelli Wu? Could she be…
“I’m Kris and Baekhyun’s cousin.” She continued. A relief. I thought she was Kris’ sister.
“I just went home here in Seoul last day from Canada. Let’s get to know each other okay?” she said. She’s so nice and pretty.
“Ma’am dinner is ready.” Someone said from outside the door.
“Okay, we’re coming. Thank you.” Kelli replied.
“Let’s go dear, dinner’s ready.” Kelli said. We descend from the stairs and reach the dining room. It was filled with different dishes and too much maids. How are we going to eat all of these?
“Guys, come on! Let’s eat. I’m starving.” Baekhyun was already sitting on the dining table. I was about to sit when he pull the chair slowly then push it back slowly. Baekhyun is such a gentleman.
“Yumae, do you like wearing bracelets?” Kelli said while we’re eating.
“Huh? Uh… Yeah. I love bracelets.” I replied.
“That one is so cute.” Kelli complimented. She was talking about the bracelet that Kai had given to me last night.
“Where did you bought that?” she asked again.
“Uhm, I didn’t buy it. Someone give it to me… last night.” I replied. Just then Baekhyun pay attention to our girl’s talk.
“Who give it to you? You’re boyfriend?”
“Huh? I-I don’t have any boyfriend since… birth. It’s my friend and also my dorm neighbor, Kai.” I replied. Baekhyun cough and drink his glass of orange juice.
“Are you okay?” Kelli asked him.
“Y-Yeah, I’m fine.” He said and continues to eat.
“What about the other one? In your left hand?” Kelli asked.
“Uh, this? My parents give this to me on my birthday a year ago.” I answered.
“Oww, it looks like a Chinese character.” I nod.
“Well, though I’m a Chinese, I never learn how to read Chinese character since I grew up in Canada. What does it mean anyway?” she continued.
“My parents said it’s my name.” I answered. She forms an “O” shape on her mouth while nodding.
“It’s so cold tonight. Do you like hot spring, Yumae?” Kelli asked again. Looks like she’s very interested about me.
“Yeah. I really love hot springs. Our province is full of hot springs.”
“Good then, let’s have a try tonight.” She said.
“Tonight?” I repeated.
“Yeah, tonight. There’s a hot spring here.”
“O-okay.” I replied.
“Yumae! Let’s go!” Kelli yelled at me. A few minutes after eating, we are on our way to their hot springs. The warm water relaxes my skin. I can feel the steam flowing through my face. I know Kelli’s telling me something but it feels like I can’t hear anything, except for all the flashbacks in my mind. We’ve been in there for almost an hour and I think I can’t take it anymore. My vision is getting blur and my world is spinning—I’m dizzy. Just then, I was about to tell Kelli but my eyes shut close.
BAEKHYUN’S POINT OF VIEW:
“BAEKHYUN!! BAEKHYUN!!” is that Kelli? I thought she’s with Yumae in the hot spring.
“Baekhyun!!” she yelled as she approaches me. She’s with her robe and her face is very worried.
“Yumae passed out in the hot spring!” she yelled.
“What?” her words didn’t sink it to me vividly.
“Yumae passed out in the hot spring! Hurry up and save her!” she yelled again.
“Wha—? O-Okay.” I run as fast as I could she can’t be soaked in hot water that long. Just then when I arrived at the hot spring…
I see a man carrying Yumae, wearing a robe. He’s carrying her, bridal style. I stop. My feet were frozen on the ground.
“KRIS?”
KRIS WU’S POINT OF VIEW:
“I thought you’ll not be coming home this weekend.” Baekhyun asked as I lay down the unconscious Yumae in the bed.
“It’s an emergency.” I answered.
“An emergency? What emergency?” he asked I don’t know what to say…
*3 hours ago:
I am walking pass by the scholar’s dorm when I heard Kyung Soo and Kai talking. I know it’s bad to listen secretly but I can’t help it because I hear Yumae in their conversation.
“Do you know where Yumae is? For all I know she’s done with her class today.” Kai said.
“She’s gone.” Kyung Soo said. Gone? Where is she? That word made me stay and listen.
“What do you mean gone?” Kai asked again.
“She’s with Baekhyun until weekend.” Kyung Soo answered. What? Baekhyun? Does that mean they’re in our house?
“Baekhyun?” Kai repeated.
“Yeah. In their house. She’ll be staying there for weekend.” Kyung Soo answered.
“I have a lot of things to do Kai, I’ll go first.” Kyung Soo continued, leaving Kai hanging there. Is that for real? She’s in our house? I should go home and find out.
“Hey Kris! What emergency?” Baekhyun asked again.
“Uhm, Uh… the, the, the… my, my art tools. Yeah. I need it.” I lied.
“You really need that right now?”
“It’s for tomorrow. I go home to check the house also.” Oh, Kris is that the house you’re going to check or Yumae? Aiish. This is enough. I’ve seen too much.
“Okay.”
“Baekhyun! Will you help me with this?” Kelli peeks at the door.
“Sure.” Baekhyun answered and they left. Yes, it’s only me and Yumae in this room… only the two of us.
YUMAE’S POINT OF VIEW:
What happened? I open my eyes, my vision is blurred. I can’t remember anything, just that I am in hot spring with Kelli.
“Good thing you’re now conscious.” A voice said. I look to find out who is it. My eye balls almost drop from its socket.
“KRIS?” That’s all I said then quickly get up from the bed.
“What? Why I’m here? I should be in the hot spring! And-and why, why are you here with me? And why I am now wearing a robe? Who-who wear this to me?”
“Hey, calm down.” Kris said. Oh God, tell me how would I calm down?
“Hey, I saved you okay.” He said. Saved me?
“Saved me?” I asked.
“I saved you at the hot springs because you passed out.” He explained.
“You… you…” I stuttered while pointing my forefinger to him. He saw me? As in the whole me without anything?
“I… what?” he said.
“You… you saw everything?” I asked. Right now I can feel my cheeks are burning.
“What…what everything?” he said. Ahh, this guy—a liar!
“You saw me naked?!” I asked. I know I am now as red as a tomato.
“Yes! No! I-I mean—” he didn’t finish his explanation because I throw a pillow on his face.
“You rude!” I exclaimed and throw another pillow on his face but this time he catch it. I am doing tantrums over the bed. I can’t accept the fact that he saw it. All of me. Why the hell on earth it’s him? why? Why?
“Hey. You listen.” I didn’t even notice that he’s already climbed to the bed and hold both of my wrists. I stare at him as well as he’s also staring at me. Here it goes my cheeks again. I push him slightly, enough for him to let go of my wrists then I cover myself with the blanket, only my head is visible.
“I saw it but not everything…okay?” he said.
“It’s so dark out there, so there’s no enough lights for me to see ‘YOUR EVERYTHING’ okay? I just saved you, that’s all.” He explained. I pout.
“That’s true! You should thank me!” he continued.
“You’re so boastful Kris Wu!” I tried to attack him in front but then we both ended fall in the bed—I’m on top of him.
“Kris? Is everything alright?” someone opened the door.
“Ooops, sorry.” And closed it again.
“Kelli! Wait!” I yell and run to follow her.
“That’s not what you think!” I continued.
BAEKHYUN’S POINT OF VIEW:
*Flashback:
“KRIS?” I’ve been frozen on the ground, seeing Kris carrying Yumae like a bride.
“How did you—?” I’m not get done but he quickly answer.
“I am at the garden when I heard Kelli and I saw Yumae and saved her.” By that words he pass by e and left me there. Why are you so slow Baekhyun?

It’s already 11:30 in the evening. I’m at Yumae’s bedroom. I am finding out if she’s okay. She’s sleeping like an angel. I let out a sigh. She left her lights on. I should turn this off for her to have a more comfortable sleep. She moved a little then I turn the lights off. I was about to go out when…
“Ahhh!!” Yumae freaked out in shock, I run to her side.
“It’s so dark.” She said. She’s freakin’ shivering to death. She’s afraid of the dark? Before I could manage to turn the lights on, Yumae embrace my body which makes me unable to move. She’s really scared.
“Don’t—don’t leave me.” She said, she’s looks like crying.
“What’s happening?” someone opened the door and turn on the lights.
“KRIS…” I said.
“I don’t know that she’s afraid of the dark.” I said.
“You should know by now.” He said then left. I should know by now? Does it mean, he knew it himself? How?
“I-I’m sorry Yumae…”
KRIS WU’S POINT OF VIEW:
*Flashback
“What’s happening?” I opened the door and turn the lights on.
“KRIS…” Baekhyun utters.
Yumae was embracing him in the bed…
“I don’t know that she’s afraid of the dark.” Baekhyun explained.
“You should know by now.” I said.
*End of flashback.
Kris, you need to focus. Don’t think about what happened last night. It’s just… nothing.
YUMAE’S POINT OF VIEW:
I had a great day with Baekhyun today, though last night is a little embarrassing. Hmm, never mind. I should fix my things in my dorm.
7:00 pm. The elevators are still in repair, but that’s okay, I don’t want to use it especially when I’m alone. As I reach my door, a man wave out there. Looks like waiting.
“Chanyeol?” I utter and he look back.
“Yumae…” he said.
“What are you doing here?” I asked
“I’ve been waiting for you.”
“Huh? Me? Why?”
“I just excuse you to your professor for two days, as well as myself.”
“W-Why?”
“Let’s have the trip for Hong Kong tomorrow…”
“Please?” he continued. He’s so cute. Begging for me.
“Uhmm…”
“Please?” showing the ticket to me. I smiled.
“Okay.” I answered.
“Alright. Uhm, I’ll pick you up tomorrow at 8 am.”
“Deal.”
