Minho’s POV:

We were all standing and watching Taemin show us the next move. I was standing next to Kimbum while Jinki and Yixing were behind us.

“So, you stretch your right arm this way while drawing a circle with your left foot, and then you bring your arm back to your chest and jump to the left while …”

Drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr… drrrrrrrrrrrrrrr… drrrrrrrrrrrrr

“How many times do I need to tell you to switch off your phones during practice” Jinki said calmly but coldly while looking at me.
“Mian hyung, I forgot!” I said while walking toward my bag, feeling the eyes of everyone on me.

I opened the pocket where I put my phone and was surprised when I saw ____’s roommate number. I felt the fear climb to my heart. She never calls me unless it was an emergency, so without paying attention to the others I just picked up the call.

“Yobosseo”
“Minho-shi? It’s Rae Ri, ____’s roommate.” I could sense the panic in her voice, I looked at my friends while answering, and I could see the impatience in everybody’s eyes unless for Jinki, who was clearly listening to the conversation, he wasn’t standing far from me to start with.
“Yes, I know, what’s going on?”
“I need your help, ____-ah isn’t well at all, and she locked herself inside her room… alkhrgtdfrsvbwz …”
“What was that?” I asked this time fear clear in my voice.
“I don’t know, she must have hit something, please can you come now? I don’t know what to do, and she isn’t listening…”
“I’m coming, just wait for me!”

I ended the call then turned to talk to the others who all seemed to be worried this time. Before I could open my mouth Jinki talked first.

“It’s ____-ah?” his voice was trembling.
“Yes it’s her, I need to go…”
“I’ll take you; by car it will be quicker!”

He was right and I couldn’t say no, even if I knew that that wasn’t the real reason, he was worried as well. I nodded while he asked from the others to continue training and not wait for us. We both run as fast as we could to the car and in few minutes we were at ____’s dorm. Before we could knock, Rae Ri opened the door and we rushed inside without talking to her. As I approached the door to my Pinky’s room I heard her crying fill the room, and my heart squeezed in my chest. What’s wrong?

I knocked and called for her.

“Pinky, open the door, it’s me…”

The door opened instantly and she jumped at me and hugged me tight. She was still crying and I felt her tears stain my shirt.

“Minho-ah … Minho-ah …”
“Shuuuuut, I’m here sweety, don’t cry… I’m here… I promise I won’t let you alone…”

Her cries didn’t stop so I held her and took her to her bed. Before I close the door of her room I looked at Jinki and Rae Ri who were standing there terrified and told them to let this to me.

“Minho-ah, if you need anything just tell me… I think you don’t need me here for now, so I’ll go back.” Jinki said with a broken voice.
“Thank you hyung, I won’t hesitate I promise.” I smiled weakly at him then closed the door.

When I looked back at ____ she was curling up in a ball holding her legs to her chest, her tears still flowing everywhere. The floor was a mess, all her things were laying there and thank god nothing broke so there was no glass to cut her. I sat beside her and she automatically held my waist and put her head on my bust.

“Minho you won’t leave me right? You promised you won’t no matter what right?” she said between her subs.

I caressed her hair and hugged her. “No I won’t leave you ever, I’m your BFF forever, no matter what I’ll be here for you… I’ll let you cry as much as you want today, but tomorrow I want to see you smile again. But first tell me what’s wrong.”
“Can I just skip that question?”

I nodded and hugged her tighter. This wasn’t the first time we find ourselves in this situation. But the last time it happened it was five years ago. I remember that day like yesterday. My parents were out of town, and I slept early with my earphones on, so I didn’t hear what was happening. I woke up from a nightmare to find the world upside down around me, and I heard knocks on the door of our house, when I opened, I found ____ standing there in stained clothes and all in cries, and the noise of the firemen car and the smell of fire invading the air, before I could ask what was happening she hugged me tight and cried harder. I gave her my clothes and obliged her to take a shower then she slept on my bed the whole night hugging me and crying in her sleep. When she woke up and I asked her what happened she just said that : “Can I skip that question?”. Since that day, we never talked about what happened, and even when I tried to know, she would avoid it. The only thing I knew is that day, her mother and her newborn brother died in the flames, so I assumed it was the shock. But today nothing happened, I just saw her in school and she was fine, so there was nothing to assume. We stayed like that for two hours before I felt her relax. I looked at her and found her sleeping, so I tried to enlighten her hug to make her something to eat, but the moment I left the bed she grabbed my hand.

“Don’t go ..”
“I’m not going anywhere I will just make you something to eat.”
“I’m not hungry”
“But you have to eat”

I laid her down again and covered her, I put a kiss on her forehead to reassure her then walked out of the room to the kitchen. I found Rae Ri standing in front of the counter putting some soup in the bowls.

“Oh, Minho-shi… I made this for you two. I thought you both need to eat something.”
“Gomawo Rae Ri-shi, I’ll take it to her, you should rest yourself… Can I ask you something?”
“Yes go on”
“Did something happen today that made her that way?”
“Nothing really, she was in a good mood when she came back from school… AH! But a letter came in her name, that’s the only different thing that happened…” she said with dreamy eyes.

A letter …

“I see… do you know where it is?”
“No… I put it on her desk but then she must have put it somewhere else.”
“Hum… Thanks Rae Ri-shi… I’ll take this soup to her; she needs to eat at least.”
“Minho-shi… Please take good care of her. Do you think I should call Hyo Joon too?”
“No, don’t, and please can you keep what happened a secret?”
“Don’t worry about that!” She smiled at me and I smiled back then took the tray with ____’s bowl with me to the room. When I stepped inside it came to me that I should tell Jinki hyung to not tell anyone about this either, we don’t need the whole school to know what happened, so I put the tray on the desk then stepped out again to call him.

“Jinki hyung?”
“Deh, Minho-ah? How is ____-ah? Can I help with anything?”
“She is fine, but can I please ask you to keep what happened to yourself?”
“Arasso… What should we tell the boys?”
“That she was sick.”
“Okey… Did she tell you what happened?”
“No, she doesn’t seem to want to talk, I’ll stay with her tonight just in case, so you don’t need to worry, and if any of the guys ask where I am just tell them that I had something to do at home.”
“Arasso. Take good care of her, I’m hanging up.”
“Goodnight hyung!”

I put my phone back to my pocket then went to wake her up and feed her, she didn’t resist much before giving up to me.

“This is the last spoon so finish it, say AHHHHHHHH!”
“Stop it, I’m not eight, I told you I’m full… arasso arasso, I’ll eat it, AAAAAAH”

I put the spoon in her mouth and smiled kindly at her. I still can’t imagine how my life would have been if I didn’t meet her that day on that cliff.

“Minho-ah … Gomawo.”
“For what?”
“For being friends with this complicated girl!”
“Trust me, I can’t be happier than being friends with you!” … Actually I can … If we become a bit more than just friends.

I put the tray back in the kitchen then came back once more to the room. I sat on the chair while she was still lying on her bed.

“Are you going to stay there the whole night?” she asked.
“Yes… You told me to not leave.” I said with a smile.
“Not that… I’m talking about the chair…”
“Ah, well I’m quiet fine this way. You should sleep and stop worrying about me.”
“Then can you just hug me until I sleep?”
The little Minho in my mind start making flip flops in the air from happiness. I knew it didn’t mean anything other than friendship coming from her, but I couldn’t help myself from screaming inside : “ TAKE IT TAEMINIE! HA!”. Without saying a word, I got up and sat right beside her, my legs stretched on the bed. She then put her head once more on my chest while I hugged her then covered her with the blanket. She instantly locked her eyes. She looked so angelic, so innocent so fragile, and suddenly anger grew in me … Who did this to her? I needed to know to make them regret, to make them pay… And that letter… I must totally know its contain. I can’t stand seeing her this way.
