Your POV:

“Cherry? What are you doing?”

I was extremely surprised when I saw Onew standing there, looking at me with round eyes. I started to blush, I could feel my ears become red as well. He just caught me at the moment I hit Kai on the head, and I ignore the reason why I feel embarrassed that I did it in front of him. At last it was just Onew and I shouldn’t be acting that way, silly me. I looked at him and started to laugh nervously before answering.

“It is his fault! He was making fun of me!” I said like a three years old girl, my index pointing at Kai, while he just laughed.
“I’m glad you remembered I was here on the ground, is anyone intending to help me get up? Or at least move to let me do it by my own?” Kai said as we both seemed to ignore him.
“Mian, here, let me help you” Onew answered while giving Kai his hand. “You are a friend of ____-ah?”
“No he isn’t” I answered before he could open his mouth. “He is Taemin’s best friend, Kai.”

Kai looked at me with raised eyebrows. And I looked at him back mouthing “WHAT?” to him. He then turned to look at Onew.

“Hey, I’m Kai, I just transferred here today and I’m in her class, please look after me hyung!” he said bowing to the older boy while I stood there surprised at the sudden change in his attitude, he sure can play all mature and polite.
“Arasso, I’m Jinki. And don’t worry Taeminie’s friends are mine too. Feel free to come to me if you need anything. Then I’ll be leaving now, I have class, and I guess you too?”

He smiled at us and started to walk away, but the moment he was by me he stopped and leaned to reach my ears level.

“I didn’t know you could be this outgoing, that’s interesting” he whispered then winked at me and left, and I who just recovered from my blushing, blushed again, deeply!
Kai kept looking at me amused before saying something as annoying as he is again.
“So thaaaaat’s why Minho and you aren’t together!”

I gave him a death glare before responding.

“Is Taemin giving you special courses when it comes to this? This is really too much for me!” I yelled at him.
“Then just be prepared, I’ll be sticking at you for long enough to make you insane” he smiled evilly and I just sighed and mentally face palmed myself before starting to walk back to my classroom.

This year is going to be quite long!

As I stepped inside the room, Hyo Joon waved at me as always, and I started to walk toward her when Kai grabbed my arm.

“Aren’t you going to sit beside me? I don’t know anyone here!” he said softly.
“No I won’t, you can take it as an opportunity to make friends!” I winked at him, returning him his evil smile and went to sit beside Hyo Joon. He stayed there for a bit looking at me before going to the back and having a seat somewhere I couldn’t put a finger on. Few minutes after the teacher was in the room, and the lesson started. I opened my books and started doodling NONSENSE in the corner of the pages. One hour has already passed and I was getting bored. The teacher was writing on the white board when a flying plane paper landed in front of me. I took it wondering if it was for me then started looking around the class looking for its owner to find Kai waving at me and making me signs to open the paper. When I unfolded the plane, I found a note written in the inside.

“Take a look at your phone!”

I didn’t feel my phone vibrate, but I still checked it and found a message in it, from another unknown number. What is it with unknown numbers today? But wait that should be Kai’s number, so I saved it: annoying newbie.

“So it’s Jinki?”

What is it with this question? I decided to answer.

“How did you get my phone number?”
“From Taemin! So? Jinki?”
“What is it with Jinki?”

I mentally face palmed myself.

“You like him right? You were blushing when he came by”
“No, I don’t! But why do you even care! It’s not even a half day since you know me!”
“I just care ;)”

I looked at his last message in awe. This boy was totally weird. I didn’t get to answer him when another message came in, this one from a third unknown number. I sighed… This was going to be a really long day. I opened it and found a simple text.

“Hey ”

I instantly wrote “Who is it again -_-“ and pressed the send button, then looked at my lecturing
teacher, I didn’t want to get caught. One minute later my phone was vibrating again, the same unknown number.

“Onew. Are you angry?”

The moment I saw the text I froze in my place and I could feel my hands sweat. Onew? I just got angry at Onew. I sighed again, deeply this time before writing him a respond.

“Mian, it’s the third unknown message I get this morning :3”
“Ah! Can I ask who are the other two? :o”
“Taemin and Kai. Getting bored at class Onew?”
“Extremely, I just wanted to tell you to not wait for us at the end of class, we have practice, and I won’t see you for the whole day, don’t have breaks ”

Something about it made me sad. So I won’t be seeing him for the whole day …

“Okey! Thank you for letting me know. Fighting!!”

That was our last text, and right after it I saved his number too: Onew oppa. I looked at it for a bit… What is it with the oppa? I erased it and kept just Onew, then Onew by itself felt boring so I added the oppa again. I was smiling to myself when Hyo Joon pinched my arm to make me concentrate on the class.

Kai didn’t bother me again for the end of the class and my phone kept quiet. When the teacher dismissed us, Kai flew to me in no time, and stood in front of my desk.

“So what are we doing now?” he asked.
“Why are you asking me? Go play with the boys, I’m staying with my friends, you go to yours!” I said raising my eyebrows.
“How mean! Taemin won’t be around, and I only know you!” he said then turned his gaze to look at Hyo Joon and I could see the sparkle in his eyes. I knew it this boy was totally a player, and Hyo Joon was totally cute! “ How about you introduce me to your little friend here?”
“She is my other BFF, this is Hyo Joon, and Hyo Joon this is Kai the new kid, he is sticking to me since this morning”
“What an original way to describe me. Nice to meet you Hyo Joon-ah!” he said and Hyo Joon laughed.
“Nice to meet you too Kai-shi!” she answered with a smile.
“Let’s move guys, Minho should be waiting, and I owe him a hot chocolate!” I said while taking my bag and walking toward the door. Both of them followed, and we found Minho already on the door.
“What took you so long?” Minho asked.
“This kid right here” I said pointing at Kai who was pouting like a little boy.

Minho nodded and we all went to the cafeteria together. The rest of the day went by smoothly, the annoying Kai showed a more amusing side of himself, we had the right to see the flirty Kai as well but he didn’t let one occasion go by without teasing me, but I started to get used to it, it actually made us closer. When we got dismissed, Kai went to the practice room while Hyo Joon and I left school to our dorms. When I opened the door to my dorm, the smell of cooking welcomed me home.

“I’m HOOOOOOOOOOME” I screamed and Rae ri showed from the kitchen.
“Welcome back! How was your day?”
“Great, yours?”
“Fine. Actually there is a letter for you, I put it on your desk. Someone slipped it from under the door.”
“A letter, that’s weird!”
“Well you can check!” she smiled at me then disappeared at the kitchen again, while I walked to my room to find the letter on the desk as Rae Ri said and on top of it a white rose, it was beautiful but freakily weird, who knew that I liked white roses? The envelope was white as well and my name was typed on it, but there was no sign of the sender. I opened it and found a light blue paper inside; the whole letter was typed as well, but still no sender, not even at the end. I sat on my bed then started to read.

Hey, Hope your day went by smoothly. Well at least I think that you did, since you smiled a lot and I seriously like that smile of yours, so can you please smile even more? Sorry for being demanding since the start but I can’t not ask that since it is the thing that makes me look forward to going to college every morning.
I know I’m freaking you out right now, but don’t, I’m writing this to help you, because contrarily to what the others think, I know that your smile isn’t real, I know that your tears didn’t dry yet, and that you didn’t forget what happened on that dark day. You probably wonder how I know about it, well it just happened.
You don’t need to know who I am; the only important thing is that I know you and that I’ll be here for you. I want to be your daddy long legs so trust me because I want to see you happy, genuinely. Write me back and put your answer under the blue pot of your porch Friday. I’ll pick it up.

As I read the last word I was shaking from head to toes. Who is that? And how did he know about that? No one other than my dad does and this is frightening me. It was supposed to be a secret. Tears formed in my eyes, and soon they were endlessly flowing on my face. What should I do with my life now? The guilt of it itself was unbearable, how about the weight of knowing that I am now exposed.

“Ottoke… Ottoke…”
