The way which the wind blows

Sehun’s POV
Three days flew like the wind. It seemed like only two seconds ago he was telling us the news, and now we’re seeing him off at the airport. We all take turns to give him a hug and a few words. “Come back soon.” I say as we let go of each other. He nods and smiles sadly. “Take care of them.” Wu Fan says to Joonmyun. “Don’t worry, I will. We’ll be waiting for your return.” Joonmyun replies. As we watch him board the plane, we’re all close to tears. It’s hard to acknowledge that Exo is crumbling.

Whilst on the train on the way home, Baekhyun suggests we go watch a movie. I shrug my shoulders. “I haven’t seen (Y/N) in two days so I was thinking I would go out with her today…” I say. “C’mon!” Wails Baekhyun. “Hang out with us for a while! She takes up all of your time!” He tries to make it sound like a joke, but I can clearly tell all the guys feel the same. Maybe I am spending too much time with (Y/N). “OK. What movie?” I smile.

Luhan’s POV
I get off the train. “Sorry again guys.” I say before the doors close. I can’t go with them to the movies because I have an urgent assignment due tomorrow, which I haven’t started. I take the bus home and walk to my house. I look across the street and see a familiar figure. Is that (Y/N) pulling the rubbish bin out? “(Y/N)!” I shout, waving my arms in the air. She waves back. I quickly cross the road. “Hey! Do you live here?” I ask. She nods and smiles. “I live right across from you!” I say. What a coincidence. “Want to come over?” I blurt. I clench my fists. Oh why, oh why did I ask that? She shrugs. “Sure. I have nothing else to do. Let me change into proper clothes though.” She says. Then I suddenly realize that she is in her pajamas. “Weekends are heaven.” She smiles.

She helps me with my assignment. It gets over and done with in no time at all. “Thanks for helping me.” I say. “No problem.” She answers. She picks up a book from my shelf and starts to read it. A silence fills the room, and I have an itching urge to say something and to avoid awkwardness. Then again, it might not be awkward for her because she’s reading a book. Then again, maybe she’s just pretending to read a book so it doesn’t look awkward. Theories spin in my head and make me dizzy. “Want to go out for ice cream?” (Y/N) asks. I look at her, confused. Shouldn’t I be the one asking to hang out? “If you don’t want to that’s fine. Geez, don’t need to make a face at me.” She pouts and lifts the book to continue reading. But I go spaz. “No! It’s fine! It’s OK! I want to go! I mean if you want to go. Because I was going to ask you to hang out as well. Actually forget that last part. Actually don’t forget it. I mean. Ice cream? That sounds great.” I chuckle in an attempt to brush off the awkwardness but it comes out shaky and nervous. “OK, let’s go. Let me just tell my parents.” She gets up and shows herself out. I am left alone to my thoughts. Oh my goodness, I am a nervous wreck around her. I feel lightheaded and can’t think straight. My fingertips tingle with the want to touch her. My stomach bubbles with the want to hold her. But I know I can’t. Is this what it feels like to like someone? Is this what love is? If it is, it stinks.

Sehun’s POV
“TAO STOP!” We all yell on top of each other as we watch helplessly. “TAO! QUIT IT! STOP!” He rained punches on the guy below him, with a dark smirk on his face. “Don’t’ worry guys, I can beat him.” He snickers. Minseok runs to grab him from behind. “That’s why we’re telling you to stop idiot!” But he is pushed aside. Tao grabs the guy’s shirt and hauls him up, he slams him against the wall. “Don’t try to mess with me and my friends again.” He spits. Tao walks out off the alleyway with a smile on his face, dusting his hands. “Tao. You went too far.” Joonmyun says quietly. “He was having a go at Minseok, what am I supposed to do?” Tao doesn’t look back at us. “Want to go for ice cream?” he suddenly says? “Yes I do!” smiles Baekhyun. One by one, we reveal our cravings for ice cream. As we walk to the store, it seems like the fight was nothing. A mere illusion to trick us. Tao isn’t like that. Tao is nice and gentle. He was protecting Minseok. Or so he wants us to believe. I could see it in his eyes, in his smile. He enjoyed seeing that guy cower on the floor. The eight of us stand in line. I wonder why there’s so many people buying ice cream, its winter. I poke my head out to see how long the line is from where we stand. I see a familiar head…two familiar heads. (Y/N) and Luhan? What? What are they doing here? Luhan…lied about studying…to hang out with (Y/N)? And (Y/N)…what are you doing? I understand that none of the other guys have recognized Luhan and (Y/N), so I silently watch them. Watch them smile, laugh and occasionally touch each other while they stand in line for ice cream. It makes my blood boil, knowing that I should be in Luhan’s place right now. I should be with (Y/N), not him. My head tells me to approach them and interrogate them, but my heart tells me to wait and see if they tell me. I clench my fists and grind my teeth. Torn between rational thinking and emotional thinking, is kind of like being torn between my girlfriend and my close friends.
