The way which the wind blows

Chapter 18

Your POV
I wake with Sehun’s arms wrapped around me. When did I fall asleep? When did we fall asleep? Well that’s a bit embarrassing. Careful not to wake him, I creep out from under his arms and make my way downstairs. I call my mum. “Hey mum, are you busy at the moment? Can you pick me up?” she confirms that she can pick me up and will be here in ten minutes. I lie down on the couch in the living room. This house seems so empty, so sad. I feel so stupid for asking about his parents. What if they did abandon him, maybe that’s why he doesn’t like talking about them. I walk back to Sehun’s room and observe the way he sleeps. He looks so peaceful. I peck him softly on the cheek and write on a sticky note that I stick to his bedside table. I grab my bag and leave Sehun’s house.

Sehun’s POV
The room is dark when I open my eyes. “My head hurts.” I groan. I think I’m getting sick. Walking to and from school everyday for thirty minutes in winter is not good. I sit up and turn on the light to my room; my head explodes with pain. I quickly turn it off. Dammit. I turn on my dull lamp that sits on my bedside table. There is a note on the table with (Y/N)’s neat handwriting. ‘I’ve gone home. I’m sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable today, please excuse my rudeness and curiosity. I love you.’ I can’t help but read the message over and over again. I don’t know why I do it, but I just read it again. I quickly run downstairs and turn on the thermostat to high; I change into sleeping clothes and brush my teeth. I gather three blankets and hop into bed. Who cares about dinner, I wasn’t hungry anyways. I drift off into sleep.

Luhan’s POV
“I’m not coming to school today. I think I’m sick.” Says Sehun in a croaky voice. “Why?” I ask. “I just said. I’m sick.” He replies. “No, ask in why are you sick?” “I dunno.” His words slur like he can’t be bothered talking. “Well get well soon.” I say as I put the phone on loudspeaker. “Sehun is sick guys! Tell him to get well!” I say to the Exo members. They all shout in unison, together it sounds like gibberish. We are shushed by other bus passengers. “We’re sorry.” We say to the passengers. “Thanks guys, tell (Y/N) as well please.” He says before he hangs up.

Your POV
Damn I’m late to school again. I step out of the car and grab my bag. “Bye mum.” I breathe and make my way to my locker inside the school. I speed walk with all my might. I am so unfit; I am beginning to get a stitch in my side. I finally reach my locker and unlock it; I shove everything into it and grab my books. I jolt by the sudden bell. First period has already started, I scan through my timetable; just great, I have sport first two periods. I go back to my locker and bring my bag with my sport uniform in it. I calmly make my way to the GYM where I see Jaquie. “(Y/N)!” she says, she runs over and grabs my arm. “I thought you were going to be away and leave me alone today!” she pouts. I chuckle. “I should’ve stayed home.” I joke. Coincidentally, Jaquie is in all of my classes.

The teacher announces that we will play basketball. I’m not much of a sporty person, I just enjoy playing sports even though I’m not very good. Jaquie on the other hand, doesn’t like sports and isn’t the best at sports. When we are split into teams, I am on Luhan’s and Yixing’s team, and poor Jaquie is in one of the other teams. Luhan and Yixing stay together like chopsticks. The girls in our sport class flutter around them to try and get their attention. Yixing, being the attention feeder that he is, loves the fluttering girls. Luhan would sometimes contribute to the conversations but otherwise would continue playing sports.

The teacher blows the whistle and we play basketball. I like playing attack so I stand near the hoop because there really is no point if there isn’t anyone back to shoot. Yixing appears at my side. “Hey (Y/N).” he says with a giddy smile. “Hi Yixing.” I reply. “Where are all of your lady friends?” I nudge him in the arm with my elbow. “I ditched them to talk to you.” He says, nudging me back. “How’s Sehun?” he wriggles his eyebrows. “Shouldn’t you know? You’re his best friend.” “You’re his girlfriend.” He says back with a smile. I sigh and comb my fingers through my hair. “I think I made him upset yesterday.” I say truthfully. “Oh right! You were with him yesterday. Why do you think that?” he says in concern. “Well-“ I start, but I am interrupted by someone calling my name, I hear someone else call heads. Honestly, I don’t understand why people say heads when they want you to duck, I always lift my head to see what is going on. I look straight ahead to see a basketball fly right into my face.

“I’m so so so so sorry (Y/N)!” Luhan says. “No, it’s OK. Its my fault for not paying attention when we’re playing a sport.” I say in a nasally voice which makes me sound like an idiot. “Don’t talk! You have to stop your blood nose.” He says. I don’t know why Luhan came with me to the first aid room, its not like I’m in any serious danger or anything. Luhan had tried to pass me the ball in basketball, but I wasn’t paying attention and it hit me in the face. My face is partially swollen and I have a blood nose. Great. Just great. “You have some blood on your uniform.” Says Luhan. “What? Where?” I ask trying to find the stain. “Don’t move your head. You need to stop the bleeding. Pinch your nose.” He commands. I pinch my nose harder. Luhan gets a tissue and dampens it, he holds the collar of my sport uniform in his hand and tries to scrub it out. Occasionally, his fingers would brush against my neck and I would flinch. I don’t think he minds the sensitivity of my skin though, but I clearly mind. Once he’s finished scrubbing it out he disposes the tissue. “At least now it wont seep into the fabric.” He says with a satisfied look on his face. Suddenly his face goes serious. “(Y/N), what would you do if I told you I like you?” he asks. I get so surprised i almost fall off the chair. “W-What?” I stammer. “You heard me. What would you do?” “Um-“ it was so confronting that I don’t know how to answer. “I would be extremely flattered. Every girl I know of likes you in some way and I would be surprised that you chose me, but I’d have to decline. I don’t share the same feelings. I like Sehun.” I say nervously. Luhan smiles brightly. “Good girl. Just testing your loyalty to Sehun.” He chuckles. I exhale in relief. “You scared me.” I say with a slight giggle. “I’ll be going now, you just stay here until your nose stops bleeding. Bye (Y/N).” he says. “Bye.” I repeat and he leaves me in the first aid room.

Luhan’s POV
How stupid of me. Of course she’s loyal. How could I be so foolish? How could I think for even a second that she would chose me over her own boyfriend. I feel like crap. I’m sorry Sehun. I’m so sorry, but, I like (Y/N).
