That night, I had terrible dreams about the Soorains, and the man who protected us from them. In my dream he was trying to reach me, but was always blocked. He motioned for me to follow him, but I did not trust him. I went on the path that was empty, and it became brighter, as I walked. The man shook his head, turning away. He seemed to disapprove of the direction we were taking. I continued down the path, with Daeil following behind me.

When we were about a mile down the road, I saw the Soorains come out of a portal. Daeil screamed as he was attacked. The animal on him tore his throat open, his blood spurting everywhere. I could only watch, as the love of my life bled to death, despite my efforts to save him. I noticed that the Soorains did not come near me.

I began to wish I had gone on the path the cloaked man had told us to take, instead of the one we had taken. It would have been safer.

I ran back to the place I had seen the man, carrying Daeil. The man was still there, and I took his hand, when he held it out. The earth felt like it was spinning, and I also felt a sense of danger and excitement mixed into one. There was a bright light, and I heard a soft voice calling me. The voice was very musical, and I did not want to wake up. I felt the cloaked man squeeze my hand, the sky turned black, and I fell to the ground.

I woke up to Daeil squeezing my hand. He pushed my hair back, looking into my eyes, worried.
“Hey, babe. What happened?” I mumbled, not quite awake. I did notice that I was sweating quite heavily.

“You were whimpering and screaming, and I tried several times to wake you,” he frowned. “It didn’t work.”

I sighed, pulling him to my side. He fit perfectly against me. “I just had a nightmare. It was so strange and creepy.”

Daeil tucked his head against my chest. “Did it have to do with yesterday? It would make sense.”

I nodded, kissing him on the hair. “Yeah. The strange man and those creepy dog things. I didn't tell him the details of the dream.”

“Soorains...I see,” Daeil replied quietly.

I smiled at him. "I think I need to have a talk with your brother. He may be able to help with this. Even if he can't, he should know what that disc is."

Daeil nodded. "Yeah, he should. Let's go talk to him tomorrow. Right now, let's get back to sleep."

I laughed softly. "Yeah. Good idea." I turned over, but could not go to sleep very quickly. The images of the man would not leave my mind, and it worried me. What if he was not as passive and helpful as he seemed? The sound of the musical voice would not leave my head. It was all confusing.

I finally drifted off, at some point, because the next thing I knew, the sun was hitting me in the face. I covered my eyes with my arm, and felt Daeil shift next to me. He was still curled up against my chest, asleep. I smiled, figuring that I could wait a little while before going to visit Seokjun. That dream made me want to protect him from everything.

Daeil and I made it to Seokjun's apartment, and saw that he was still home. There was also a black motorcycle in the driveway, so I parked on the curb. Walking to the door, we passed a broad shouldered man in a motorcycle helmet. I noticed that he had three small birthmarks on the left side of his neck, in the shape of a triangle. I wanted to smack myself when I started thinking of how fun those must be for a lover of his.

He nodded at us, but did not say a word. I watched him as he drove off, then turned and rang the doorbell.

"Come in! It's open," We heard Seokjun's voice from inside.

We made our way in, moving carefully around the boxes in his house. He had recently moved in, and obviously had not found a chance to unpack.

"Hey," Daeil smiled at his brother. "I just have a few things to ask you about. Maybe you can help me." He pulled out the magic book, and Seokjun glanced at us.

"Have a seat, okay? Would you guys like something to drink?" Seokjun smiled at us, but there was a strange look in his eyes.

"Sure," Daeil grinned. "I'll take a Coke, if you have any. Would you like one, babe?" He touched me lightly on the leg, making me feel guilty about my thoughts earlier about the motorcycle guy.

"That would be nice. Thanks," I said, opening the book. I found the Soorains, turning to Seokjun.
"Have you ever seen an animal like this?" I wanted to get straight to the point.

Seokjun set the Cokes down, then looked over the page. His brow furrowed as he concentrated on it, then he shook his head. "I've never seen anything like that, but I could ask around. Why do you ask?"

Daeil glanced at me, then replied carefully. "We got attacked by some of them last night. Hyung, I don't think they are from Earth."

Seokjun looked at his phone, which had just buzzed. "I don't know about that. Where would they be from?"

I sighed, knowing we did not have his full attention. "This says they originate from a planet called Zybria. I've never heard of it, but may believe in it now. I don't know..."

Seokjun replied to a text, then put his phone in his pocket. "I do believe in other planets, but how would the creatures get here?"

I shook my head. "I have no idea." I took a deep breath. I may as well dig while I had the chance. "Also...I saw you take a disc from someone the other day. It was the same as the one that came in this book, when we got it a few years ago. Do you have any idea what they could be all about?"

He shook his head. "I don't, but know someone who might. Give me a few days, okay?"
I frowned, getting the feeling that he was not being completely honest with us. I glanced at Daeil, who shrugged. "Okay. Thanks."

Seokjun smiled. "Sure."

When we were back out in my car, I turned to Daeil. "He's not being completely honest with us." I suddenly remembered seeing the same birthmarks on the man in the cafe when Seokjun had received the disc. The man who left would know what they were. We just needed to find him.
