The next morning, I took Daeil out riding. We went out in the field, far away from everyone else. We rode for a while, talking. When we got to the woods, we slowed down. I suggested stopping for lunch, which was quick. The woods were a perfect place to try something new…outdoor sex. This is what took up the rest of the afternoon and evening.

Once we were headed back, Daeil turned to me. “Love, I just thought I saw something on the edge of the clearing. What do you think it could have been?”

I shook my head. Even the horses were getting nervous. Looking around, I didn’t see anything right away. My horse snorted and reared up, and Rusty, who was being ridden by Daeil, was becoming more nervous, also.

Daeil gasped and pointed to the edge of the trees, where we both saw glowing eyes. Something was moving toward us slowly, so I turned to my boyfriend. “I don’t know what kind of dog that is, but we need to get out of here,” I motioned to the path. “Go ahead of me. I’ll be right behind you.”
We took off running, and I saw the dogs start after us. As much as I wanted to run ahead, I stayed behind to keep an eye on Daeil. We could hear the dogs behind us, and they sounded more vicious than normal dogs. We kept running, until I saw a man in a black robe seem to appear out of thin air. This night was getting to be more bizarre by the second. To our amazement, the dogs stopped to stare at the man. He raised his arms, and the dogs lunged at him. He fought them off, then pulled out his staff. A light flashed, and the dogs were thrust through a portal that had just opened. It was gone before we could consider what had happened, and so was the man.

Daeil stared at the place the portal had been, then turned to me. “Babe…did that all just happen? It was all so crazy. What the hell?”

I shook my head. “I don’t know. At least we are safe,” I kissed him gently. “Let’s go home.”

Daeil raised an eyebrow. “Can I go home with you and look through the magic book?” he smiled at me, then kissed me back. “We may be able to figure out what’s going on.”

I grinned. “I agree. We do need to find out what’s going on here. That was so strange.”

Daeil nodded. “Yeah, it was.”

When we got back to my place, we looked through the book, and finally found the creatures. They were called Soorains, and very vicious creatures. No one knew where they originated from. All they knew was that they were not to be messed with.

We looked for anything on the man we had seen, and did not find anything like him. I was beginning to become convinced that the book I had bought wasn’t all it had seemed to be.

Daeil took the book away from me, tossing it on the floor and pushing me down on the bed. He had forgotten all about the book, and he soon caused me to also.

The captain called his teams in for a meeting late that same night. Juho was not happy, because that was the only time they ever got to have any rest. Oh, well. He would just suck it up. Sleep was overrated, anyway.

The captain smiled, but also looked tired. "Ladies and gentlemen, I am sorry to wake you. The Soorains have escaped from the Fae Realm, and they are most likely running loose on Earth now. We need to find the special child before it is too late. He can stop them, but probably doesn't know it," he looked at Juho. "We need to find them."

"Alright. I will try," Juho frowned. "I will do that."
