My Heart

Perhaps that's when you'll know my heart

Jongup was on one of his breaks again. It wasn't a particularly long one, but it was enough time that he could enjoy a day just staying at home with his girlfriend. She was leaning against him on the couch, her head resting on his arm as she silently read her book. Juhee looked like a goddess to the younger boy, with her dark hair tumbling over one shoulder. He couldn't fight the urge to reach out and brush his fingertips against her cheek, his face lighting up when she looked at him questioningly.

"What?" she teased after a moment, cocking her head to the side. "You should just take a picture, it'd last longer."

The brunette grinned, reaching for his phone on the coffee table. "Don't try to back out now," he coaxed, seeing her try to turn her face away as he opened the camera.

After a bit of play fighting, Juhee relented, smiling gently as Jongup snapped a quick picture. "See, you look perfect," he said, turning the phone around for her to see.

"Only because my boyfriend is a great photographer," she argued, laying her head back against Jongup's chest. Juhee grabbed his hand and laced it with hers, resting them both on her waist. "How did I get so lucky?"

Jongup stared at the top of her head in disbelief, his words failing him. As far as he was concerned, he was the lucky one out of the two of them. He'd never imagined that when they met all those years ago in the hallway of his college that they'd end up dating, much less living together. It had even been a common joke amongst the members of his group that Daehyun would be the first to move in with a girl and get married, while Jongup would be the last to do such things. But the younger boy had gotten a girlfriend long before his hyung had, much to everyone's surprise, and on top of that, she was older than him and much prettier than he thought he deserved. Jongup felt like the luckiest guy in the world with Juhee by his side, so he always made sure not to take her for granted.

"What are you thinking about?" Juhee said suddenly, poking the brunette's cheek and drawing him out of his thoughts.

"You," he answered calmly. Though he knew his girlfriend wasn't as fond of such cheesy things, Jongup was simply being honest. He was thinking of all the memories they had together from the last two years, all the good and the bad. It was a bit overwhelming.

"Seriously, what's got you so pensive and intense?" she prodded. "I don't think I've ever seen you look this serious in all the time we've known each other."

Jongup grabbed her other hand in his and looked down at her with a serious expression, a million thoughts flickering through his mind. He was nervous, but more sure of this than anything in the past, so he fought with himself to keep going. The younger boy looked Juhee in the eye, and his mind cleared quickly until there were only two thoughts left in his brain, I love you and I need you.

"Jongup?" Juhee asked, her voice soft.

The brunette swallowed his fear and squeezed his girlfriend's hands a bit tighter. "Will you marry me?"
