*
The wind of winter nips your nose the moment you step foot outside. Bundled in a black, velvety trench coat along with a black, fluffy hat- you shove your gloved hands into the pockets of your coat. A cold-chill hit you as you continue walking down the sidewalk toward the park. Funny, going to the park in the dead of winter? Why not? You have nothing else to do with your life other than writing an article about a film, or a critique on a food you've tried, or the latest celebrity gossip that you lowkey could care less about.

The due date for one of your articles is in a few days, but you are not motivated so therefore, you will walk to the park even if hypothermia takes over and you freeze into an eternity of slumber. Regardless, you need a break, and shivering until your teeth start chattering sounds like a good enough break to you!

The walk to the park is only five minutes away, and the sound of cars passing by gives a sense of comfort. The trees have no leaves, and the green of the grass has dimmed greatly since fall. Strangers all in their lonesome walk by from time to time bundled from head to toe, but you try not to be reminded of the lonely feeling you have yourself especially when cooped up in your apartment. Hence, another reason you decided to take a walk in the park in the dead of winter.

You moved to the city to achieve great things, and you landed a job as a columnist for multiple magazines under one company. One magazine pertains to food because food is life, one pertains to movies because Netflix, and one pertains to celebrities because their lives are more interesting than yours, so you think.

You continue down the pathway of the park trying to ignore the fact that you're alone all the time. Your friends who you left behind, not because you wanted to, but because of this job, you rarely get to see. But, in the end, you want to make your parents proud, and proud of you they shall be. Deciding to take a moment, you stand in front of the lake where the park got its fame. The lake is glistening even under the cloudy sky. It's breathtaking even more so when the sun is out, or when the sun is setting. But for now, you enjoy the peace and quiet, as well as the view.

"Gorgeous isn't it?" A deep voice says, and you whip your head around to see who the intruder to your private moment is.

You're caught off guard by the view your eyes are now resting upon. He's tall with jet black hair lying flat on his forehead, the tips of his bangs ending above his eyebrows. His dark, brown eyes stare at the sky as he holds a slight smile flashing abnormally perfect teeth. As your eyes trail down, you notice the broadness of his shoulders underneath a gray hoodie, as well as his dark jeans complimenting a pair of dark vans. You can't help but notice how immensely handsome this man is and for once you feel a blush creeping to your cheeks. It's been a while since you've felt a strong attraction to a human before- maybe it's the crisp smell of his cologne?

"It is." You say. "How often do you come here?" You ask to be nosy more so than curiosity.
Only because you have never seen him at this park before.

"Just this past week," He admits. "I just moved here not too long ago."

"Oh okay," You nod, looking back at the lake. "What do you do?" You fold your arms across your chest and lean against a sturdy enough tree beside you which gives you a better visual of this handsome fellow.

"I'm an actor. Or, at least trying to be. I have an audition sometime tomorrow morning actually." He answers. "I cook on the side, too." Quite impressed with his answer, you nod and decide to try a flirt, "Well that's very dashing I must admit."

Handsome Fellow lets out a chuckle, "I'm Jin by the way. And, what is your name? What do you do?" He offers his hand and you shake it.

"I'm [Y/N], columnist for multiple magazines under one company living my best life here in the city." It takes you a moment to realize you're still shaking his hand, and you awkwardly shove your hand in your pocket trying to keep yourself from blushing again.

"Well [Y/N], columnist for multiple magazines under one company living your best life, I am very honored to meet you." He slightly bows, and something in you ignites when he flashes you a side grin. How can one's skin be that clear? You wonder to yourself. Is it really that possible?

Something in Jin's eyes has you mesmerized, and you can't seem to look away. He clears his throat as you look down timidly. "So um," Jin begins, "Would you like to take a walk?"

*
Before you can blink, you're up against the wall, your legs wrapped around him, one arm on his bare shoulders, the other hand in his hair.

"Mmm." You moan lips remaining locked as his warmth embraces you. He presses his body tighter to you brushing the tip of his tongue with yours as you grip at his back, your breathing increases with every movement of his lips on yours.

He twirls around and carries you to his bedroom slamming you on his bed, the covers soft beneath you. The two of you gaze in each other's eyes, but only for a moment, before he starts kissing you again. His hands slip up your shirt and underneath your bra, palming at your breasts, the ticklish feel of your nipples really drives you wild as he trails his lips to your neck.

You throw off your shirt as he traces his fingertips to your back to undo your bra. Both of you on your knees at this point, he runs his tongue along your nipples, and without realizing, both your hands are gripping his shoulders, the fire below you feeling intense as he continues licking at your breasts. You then move your arms around his neck wanting more of his kiss; his hands, calloused and warm, run down your body, his bare skin meeting yours once again giving you a sense of paradise.

The wild inside you starts coming alive; biting your bottom lip, you whisper in his ear, "I've got an idea." If the two of you weren't moving fast enough, the squeaky sound of the shower starting fills you with anticipation. The both of you don't even wait until the water is warm, Jin shuts the glass door then crashes his lips to yours. His hand grips the back of your head, the water getting steamy as it pours all over the both of you. Jin pins you against the shower wall, both of your breathing heavy as you gaze at the scene in front of you. You thought Jin was hot before, but with steamy water dripping down his face and through his hair, the attraction has grown quite immensely.

You begin to crave him more to the point your body can't take it. "I think this is the best idea anyone has ever had." Jin breathes, his smile meeting your ear.

"Mmm." You moan, planting kisses along his neck and jaw then coming back to his lips and teasing him by biting his bottom lip.

As the night drives on, you end up back in his bed where the two of you finally become one. He moves inside you, and you've never felt so alive in years, and as the feeling continues to grow, you feel your body tense. As you finish, so does he. "Mm baby." You gasp. The pleasure causing the both of you to crash side by side.

Exhaustion hitting you after a few minutes, to your surprise, you feel his warm hand intertwine his fingers with yours. You look over at him, to see him staring at you as if you're was the only girl in the world.

"What?" You manage to say, your breathing beginning to slow down. His eyes still fixated on you, Jin gives a side grin, and as you wait for him to speak, he doesn't. Instead, he rests his hand on your cheek, reaches over and gives you the sweetest kiss you have ever felt. It only lasts for a few seconds, but long enough to where you can feel everything. Heart melting, you touch the tip of your nose to his and turn around as he wraps his arms around you.

Finally, since moving to the city, you're thankful that you're not sleeping alone tonight.

*

The morning comes quick as you struggle to open your eyes. The sun is bright, and it takes you a second to realize that last night was definitely not a dream. You can't help but grin to yourself as you stretch your arms above your head. You let out a yawn as you lay back on your right side. Jin's warmth is absent and you remember him mentioning yesterday that he had an audition this morning, perhaps he's practicing? Maybe he already left? He trusts a stranger he just met yesterday to be in his house alone?

Before deciding if you want to get up and look for him or not, you turn to your right side, your eyes still blurry from just waking up. You notice a side table, and as you squint your eyes, you notice a round, dark object sitting on top. Blinking a few times, you focus on the object and reach out for it with your fingers.

As soon as you grab it, you realize what it is. The blood in your body rushes to your face as sheer and utter horror fills you. Your heart begins to pound as your fingertips and toes go numb. Before you can make sense of it, the door to the bedroom opens.

You grasp the covers to your chest, panic fills you.

Your eyes widen at the woman who just walks in.

It takes her a second, but she looks up, shock and anger filling her eyes, as she lets her purse fall to the ground from her now stiffened wrist.

"Who. The hell. Are you." She says through gritted teeth.

"I- I-" You're barely audible, no words are coming to you. You're butt naked and in this woman's bed and she's not the one you hooked up with last night.

"GET OUT!" She screams. "GET OUT! GET OUT! GET OUT!"

You jump out of the bed, the object making a 'ding' sound as it hits the floor. Your heart still pounds as nausea waves in your stomach. As she continues screaming, you throw your trench coat on, trying to grab any article of clothing of yours that you can. Once you have everything, you jolt to the front door. You put your shoes on, slamming the door behind you.

Pulling yourself together, you run. You just run.

Running from the utter humiliation that you know will haunt you for the rest of your life. You don't know how far your apartment is. You don't even know where you're going really. All you know is you want to be as far away from that house as you possibly can. Tears fly down your cheeks as you choke back a sob.

Wherever he is, you don't care. You don't ever want to see him again.

Nor do you want to relive discovering his wedding ring the morning after what you thought had been one of the most beautiful nights, you have had in such a long time.

****
2 years later....

Thumbing at the corner of your script for tonight, you finish downing the last bit of your water as your makeup artist brushes on your finishing touches. The Late show has another celebrity guest on tonight, and you help co-host one of the top late shows in your country. Your scripts are never too long since you mostly improv on the majority of your lines. Either way, you studied your script from top to bottom this morning until your brain was fried.

"Alright! [Y/N], Ready in 3, 2, 1!" One of the producer's shout.

You make your way to the couch waving to the audience. As the show begins, the main host goes through his quick monologue as you join him mentioning the celebrity that will be guest starring this evening. As usual, you make some jokes, the audience laughing along with you and your boss until each guest makes their way to the seat beside you. Hard to believe you started as a columnist, which you still do on the side with an undercover name, to now co-hosting one of the top shows in the world. Thankfully, you're not as famous as others, but you try to maintain your privacy as much as possible. You do get recognized in public quite often, but thankfully nothing too crazy happens.

You get through the show in one peace, and you find yourself in the back of a dark SUV; your favorite driver Stan, asks how your night went as he always does and takes you home. Once settled in your house, you notice the pile of mail on your counter. Your mom comes over and cleans sometimes just because she gets bored at home, and she must have checked the mail this morning for you. As you walk over to the pile, you notice most of it is junk mixed in with a couple magazines. Flipping through everything, a magazine cover catches you by surprise and, you toss the magazine in frustration. He's on the cover of another magazine. Again.

Biting the corner of your lip, you squeeze your eyes shut trying to avoid the worst memory of your life from reaching your brain. You've never told a soul about the encounter two years ago and you never plan to. You haven't even told your mother. The guilt has never left even after all this time, but of course, as your career started becoming successful, it was as if his career became successful too. You wrap your arms around your chest wishing for a distraction, but sometimes a distraction never comes especially in the evenings when you're alone. Of course, now that your parents live close to you now, you visit them often, but not as often due to your name being known. The last thing you ever want is for strangers to figure out where your parents live and who they are. You look over at the spot you tossed the magazine with your tongue in cheek.

Shaking your head, you pick up the magazine, this time tossing it in the trash. Walking over to the couch, you take a seat curling up with your favorite blanket. You haven't really dated much since. And the times you tried, you would 100% check if they had a girlfriend, or even more so, a wife. Most of the time they don't because it shouldn't be normal for a man with a wife to cheat on her or vice versa, but you figure shiz happens. Rubbing your forehead with your fingers, you lean further into the couch.

He's
divorced now.

It wasn't breaking news because he wasn't quite famous yet at the time the divorce took place. How do you know about this? Well, he happens to be one of the top male actors in your country and word gets around. Especially when your co-workers have absolutely no idea about your dirty little secret with him; and, some of the women talk about him a lot and how they beg the main host of the talk show to please ask him to guest star. Restless, you stand from the couch and walk over to the mail you missed. One letter catches your attention as you quickly open it.

"Oh wow." You breathe. You have just been invited to an after party for a movie that just recently came out. The main star is a young actor by the name of Kim Taehyung, and according to the invitation, the party is this weekend. You text a few of your friends seeing if they'd like to join, excitement filling you. You've only been to one other after party and it was nice, but you had no friends. Kidding, kidding. You had friends, but none of them could make it, and this happened to be when you first got your job as a co-host so therefore your name hadn't really been put out there just yet. You think you even know what outfit you're going to wear, you think to yourself. With a wide grin, you magnet the invitation to your refrigerator and waltz to bed hoping by the end of the night your friends will agree to come with you.

**
Once finishing up your favorite hairstyle, you smooth out your favorite dress with your hands. Your heels click below you as you look over once more in the mirror for approval. "I think I look decent enough." You nod once and turn off the lights behind you. You shoot a text to the group chat with your friends letting them know you're on my way which each of them replied letting you know when they will be arriving as well. Stan tips his hat at you once you're seated in the SUV. You make small talk up until you arrive at the destination.

"Thank you, Stan." You say, "See you later!" You shut the SUV door behind you and walk to the entrance of the building. Music blasting from all sides, you quickly message your friends about your arrival, deciding to take in the view. The house is huge and white, many windows, and people standing around with drinks in hand. You figure there will be many famous people here, but you mainly keep your eyes peeled for your friends' arrival. You probably should have googled the Kim Taehyung fellow since the movie has him in it, but you do not see him now so that will save you some embarrassment. You just can't remember what the name of the movie he's in.

Walking through the doors, the music grows even louder, and hordes of people are gathered around dancing. The lights are very much dimmed, and the smell of alcohol meets your nose. Couples are lip locked in every corner it seems, and you can't help but brush off the lonely feeling since your friends haven't arrived yet. Awkwardly, you round a corner to a long table with punch, ice, and finger foods sprawled out. You munch on a cracker and quickly ladle yourself a cup of punch taking small sips at a time. You're not seeing anyone you recognize just yet, and once you're clear of the bustles of people, you decide to head back to the main entrance, maybe even take a step outside if you can get past all the dancing.

Swiftly, you walk towards the entrance, dodging couples and groups as you go.

Taking another peek at the dance floor something makes you freeze in place. Heart pounding, your eyes widen at who you see standing in the corner. It's Jin and before you can look away, he sees you. Although brief eye contact, you turn to power walk to the entrance as fast as you can throwing your punch in a trashcan on the way. Nausea waves in the pit of your stomach because for some reason, you have a feeling he's following you and that's the last thing you need right now. Pushing open the doors, the cool breeze hits you. Making it to the sidewalk, you try to think of where you can go avoiding some stares from the people chilling out front. I need to find a good place to hide. As you continue down the sidewalk, on the side of the building, you notice a nice area surrounded by tall trees. No one is in plain sight there, and inwardly you're hoping there's a bench somewhere, so you can sit down and clear your mind.

Before you can continue further, you hear him speak, "[Y/N!] [Y/N!] Wait, please!" He sounds frantic, but so are the thoughts rushing through your mind. You don't want to see him. You don't want to talk to him. You just don't want to be here anymore. Your phone buzzes in your hand purse, but you're shaking too much to even get it out. "[Y/N!]" He says again.
Squeezing your eyes shut, you pause, hearing his jogging footsteps against the cement behind you. No, no, no, no, no, you think to yourself, slowly turning to face the one person you never wanted to see ever again. Not like this. Not now. Not ever. Jin makes it to you, out of breath, but respectfully stands a few feet away from you. "What- what are you doing here?" You manage to say, your hands still shaking, but hoping he doesn't notice. "What do you want?"

"[Y/N], I just- I saw you, I," Still trying to catch his breath, he continues, "I'm here celebrating the movie I'm in. But I- I was hoping we could- we could talk." He looks handsome, just as he did when the two of you first met. He's wearing a black suit, white dress shirt, with a black tie. His hair stayed the same, still stops at his eyebrows as it did two years ago. His eyes meet yours, and you can see the sincerity in his. But, .... He's an actor so what do I know?

"Talk?" You breathe, also shocked about what he just said. The movie he's in? Is he in the movie Kim Taehyung is in? "You want to talk." You didn't say it like a question. In all honesty, the humiliation you went through two years ago is resurfacing especially when you picture her face. The anger in her eyes, the screaming for you to leave, the horror you felt when you found his ring, the guilt- all of it returning and crashing all over you like waves. "What happened to talking two years ago?" Suddenly, you feel bravery within you as you slowly step forward. Anger in your eyes, deciding to not be afraid, "You could have told me you were married. Who the hell do you think you are?"

Jin looks toward the ground ashamed; licking his lips, he begins to speak. "I- I know, but if I would have told you, you-"

"You wouldn't have gotten f***ed." Your teeth are gritted now, your heart still pounding you can feel it in your temples. Jin's eyes widen in surprise as he stares at you, speechless.

"No- No, I-I-" Sighing in frustration, he runs a hand through his hair, his broad shoulders still tense. "Listen, [Y/N], it wasn't like that."

"Wasn't like that? Then what was it, Jin?" Tears well in your eyes, "There's no excuse, you had a wife!"

"[Y/N], I know.. I know, but please hear me out." He pleads, holding his hand out as if to calm you. Exhaling slowly, you fold your arms across your chest, your hand gripping onto your hand purse tighter than you realize. When he sees you nod, he bows his head slightly as if to thank you, "Look, I know there's no excuse for what happened." You tense at his words uncertain if anything he is about to say further is even true. Even though the memory of you two meeting decides to return to you. "I don't even know what else to say other than I'm sorry," He takes a step forward and you eye him carefully, your arms still folded. "I wanted to tell you the truth." A tear hits your cheek, as silence continues to overwhelm you.

"Listen [Y/N], I thought about you every single day, wishing I could tell you how sorry I was.. How sorry I still am." He runs his hand through his hair again, then rubbing his forehead, "I tried reaching out, but I never got a reply and I knew why, and I understood why, and I would do anything to take it all back if I could." He steps even closer, another tear slipping from your eyes, your body still shaking. "I'm so sorry. I'm sorry I never told you. And, I am so sorry for what I did. Is there any way you can forgive me?"

You stare down at the pavement, your nerves still abundant. Your phone hasn't stopped buzzing the whole time, but it's hard for you to notice with Jin here. It was pure magic when you two met, it was as if the stars aligned just for the both of you. His sweet kiss before you fell asleep, the dad jokes he told on the walk at the park, his passion for acting and cooking and how he desperately wanted to cook for you one day. His smile had pulled on your heart strings that day too, his laugh contagious and the way he looked at you... It was as if you two were made for each other.

All of it is coming back to you, and here you are still speechless. You can't even look at him. But, how can someone who seemed so wonderful do what he did and think a simple 'sorry' would make everything better? At the end of the day, he still got what he wanted, and you ended up with getting humiliated. Her face haunts you every day, and you wish you had the courage to reach out to her. If anyone needs forgiveness, it's you. Not him. You may not deserve forgiveness, but you'd do anything to tell her you're sorry. "[Y/N?]" Jin says, concern filling his eyes. You realize you have been silent a moment too long. Meeting his eyes, tears still falling, you wipe them away before speaking.

"It's her you should be apologizing to, not me."

You brush past him and make your way to the front of the building. Sadness overtakes you, and you reach for your phone. "Shit." You whisper in frustration as you see the numerous text messages from your friends.

*Hey, where are you?

*Girl, we boutta meet Taehyung, get your ass out here!

*We'll get you a drink just let us know where you are.

*Are you already drunk?

You can't bring yourself to reply yet. Instead, you call Stan, and in 15 minutes he arrives. As you buckle in, Stan seems aware that you're not okay, so he kindly keeps his questions to himself. Once home, you crash. Putting your phone on silent, you lay in the darkness until you drift asleep.

*
You wake up the next morning, the sun shining high in the sky. You inhale and stretch your legs before sitting up. Rubbing your eyes, you decide to text your friends at least letting them know you're okay. Once your eyes adjust to the bright light of your phone, your eyebrows furrow as you read the messages.

*Girl, you have some explaining to do.

*Were you ever going to tell me?

"Explaining to do? What?" You whisper to yourself; it takes you a moment to realize they're probably talking about you not meeting up with them at the party. You reply in the group chat apologizing for ditching them, and you reassure them that you're okay. The second you hit send, one of your friends call you.

"Hello?" You answer.

"[Y/N?]" Your friend says, panic in her voice.

"Hey.. Sorry about last night. Something came up-"

"Whatever you do, do not Google yourself." Your friend cuts you off. Confusion fills you by what is just said.

"Wait- what?" You move to sit at the edge of your bed.
There's a pause at the end of the phone, "Look, I don't know what's going on. But, pictures of you got leaked from the party last night."

"What?" You whisper as you grip at the bed cover underneath your hand. Pictures? The only thing that happened was your encounter with Ji-

Fear consumes you. "I've got to go." You say, hanging up the phone. Hands shaking, you can't help but ignore what your friend said. You type your name in Google, swallowing at the lump in your throat. What pops up, to your dismay, are not just one, but multiple different articles and pictures of Jin and you from the party last night.

"Kim Seok-jin, from the movie, "It's Definitely You," had an affair on ex-wife Kim Yongseo,"

"[Y/L/N, Y/F/N], Co-Host of Late Show and Kim Seok-jin, from "It's Definitely You" seem to have a feud regarding the affair on his now ex-wife Kim Yongseo,"

"Kim Seok-jin furious at the relentless [Y/L/N, [Y/F/N] for 'tempting' him into the affair,"

Your eyes flash through the titles, the queasiness in your stomach growing with each one you read. Just when you think the lies can't get any worse, another article causes you to heave,

"[Y/L/N, Y/F/N] has an abortion after her affair with Kim Seok-jin"

****
The clicks are everywhere, surrounding you with every step you take.

"If you're gonna have an affair on someone, at least make sure they're pretty first"

No matter where you turn, no matter where you go, someone is there following you.

"Wow, an affair and an abortion? That c**t deserves to rot"

Pain overpowers you, and your hands begin to shake as you try to push the comments out of your mind. How in the world can anyone say things like that about a human being they have never met?

"That bitch better watch out, that's my man"

You didn't even know Jin was married at the time, and if you would have known, nothing
would have happened. You would have never stooped as low as to having an affair with someone.

Your heart thuds in your chest as you rush around the corner trying to get to the nearest bus stop. Your head is covered with a floral cloth and you're wearing large sunglasses to cover your eyes. You just came from a grocery store and ended up leaving empty-handed. The magazines have you and Jin's faces planted on almost all of them, and you just couldn't stand there with the paranoia of someone recognizing you. The rush has your head spinning the second you pay the bus driver and find an empty seat on the bus. You cuddle up to the corner with a window trying to keep your face as hidden as possible. It never ends. It feels like you're being hunted as if all of this is a game. And, it's the worst feeling in the world.

As people continue to board the bus, your eyes, through the tint of your sunglasses, land on someone who seems familiar to you. She's beautiful, you admire, and she's wearing a dark cloth on her head, dark lipstick, as well as a pair of sunglasses to go along with what happens to be an insanely sunny day. As you watch her find a seat, you continue looking at the fine curve of her jaw, the dainty pink shirt and skirt she's wearing and the way she carries her purse.... Your eyes widen as the flashback from two years ago hits you. No. No, it can't be. It can't-

It's Jin's ex-wife.

You have been staring at Jin's ex-wife. You bury yourself even further in your seat as panic fills you. She takes a seat a few rows away from you on the left side of the bus. After what seems like forever, the bus begins to move and so many thoughts swarm in your head. Where has she been? How has she been? What if she sees you? Nothing at all can stop the swirling questions, and it's taking everything in you not to hurl on your shoes.

After about twenty minutes the bus stops, and you see her stand. Before you can even process anything, you find yourself on your feet moving towards the bus entrance a few people behind her. Your eyes stay glued to her as everyone exits the bus. You're breathing heavy but try to keep quiet as you follow the direction she's heading. The only thing you can hear is the pounding of your heart and the breaths you're trying to steady as the click of her heels fade around a city corner. There's a lot of people out today, and you try to blend yourself in as best as possible as you round the same corner. Why you're following her you don't know, but something in you just wants to know if she's okay. Even if you're too scared to face her, maybe just knowing where she's headed will give you a sense of peace.

Walking another five more minutes, you keep your distance as you remain behind her. You realize the streets are beginning to appear emptier and emptier, and once you round another corner, she stops. Pausing, you pin your back against one of the buildings, closing your eyes and holding your breath. Waiting a few more seconds, you peer around the corner to see her still standing there, her back facing you. From what you can tell, she's typing on her cell phone. Is she waiting for someone? She raises her head and looks to her side, and you jump back out of sight. You never thought you were a crazy person, but you think you just proved yourself wrong.

After a moment, you look around the corner again, this time what you see catches you by surprise. A black SUV, like what you ride into the Late show and many events, parks in front of her. She throws her phone in her purse as a man exits the passenger side of the vehicle. A huge, boxy smile fills his face as a sweet-sounding laugh comes from her lips. The man envelops her in a huge hug as they rock from side to side. He wears a velvet, dark green pantsuit, a bandana on his head as his light brown hair falls onto his forehead. He stands tall, sunglasses covering his eyes. As the two pull away, he puts his hands on the sides of her face and kisses her.

Your heart melts at the sight as happy tears brim your eyes. She seems so happy and that's really all you could have asked for. The couple briefly looks from left to right as if to make sure no one is watching them. Suddenly, the familiarity of the man hits you. You have seen him before. As he grabs her hand, the image of the after-party invitation comes to mind. The two take a seat in the SUV, and you align yourself against the building once more hoping as they drive by, they won't notice the awkward girl that is you standing there. Once the car disappears further into the street, you turn around and head into the direction of your home.

It'll be about a fifteen-minute walk from here, but it doesn't matter. All you know is the walk will give you a chance to process what you've just witnessed.

Pulling out your phone, your fingers fly over the keys as to what you think his name is in the Google search. "It's Definitely You..." You read from the few pictures that are popping up. Wait... Isn't that? The cover of the movie appears on your phone screen and you click a photo waiting for it to magnify. Sure enough, the cover has the picture of the man you just saw, and shock fills you with what you see next. It's Kim Taehyung alright, but that's not what you're surprised by. The other name on the cover, the name that you never say aloud, the one person you try to avoid, the one that mentioned he was in a movie recently and you've finally put two in two together,

Is none other than Jin, the co-star of the man who now has his ex-wife.

*

You slept with a man that happened to be married two years ago. The both of you became famous, him more so. Paparazzi happened to leak pictures of the man and you at a party for a movie he happened to be in. They overheard your conversation about the affair, fabricated it into something more than what it really was. Apparently, you've had an abortion even though a baby was never in your uterus, to begin with. Your Late show job is in jeopardy. You haven't eaten in days. And, you witnessed Kim Taehyung smooching on Jin's ex-wife.

Your nerves are so shot from the past few weeks that you're not sure if you have feelings anymore. Taking a seat on your couch, you stir at the hot chocolate in your mug waiting for it to cool down before you take a sip. Your boss from the Late show contacted you today concerned about the effect the rumors about you have had on both his and your job. If you hadn't already been stressed enough, your boss just multiplied it by a million. Curling your legs beneath you, you take another sip from the steaming hot chocolate. Thankfully you have enough money to last you a while until you can gain a new job, but the money was never the factor for you, it was a matter of doing something you enjoyed. Now, it's hard to really enjoy anything.

Even your parents have been upset. Not at you but upset that they haven't been able to see you since you've been in hiding. Your friends have been distressed as well, wishing you could go to events with them, but you can't risk the press pulling them into a mess that was never theirs, to begin with. You thought you were lonely before. But, right now, sitting on the couch, staring at the wall, you've never been so lonely. Honestly, it's more than that.

You feel empty.

As you begin to take another sip of your drink, the doorbell rings. Confusion fills you as you furrow your eyebrows. You're not expecting anyone. Setting your mug, on the side table, you walk to the door and slightly open it enough to peek and see who it is. No way.
Jin stares at you, desperation in his eyes.

"What are you doing here!? And, how the hell did you find-"

He cuts you off, "I can explain." You feel lightheaded as shock consumes you, taking everything in you to hold back your anger. Blinking a few times, you rub your fingers to your forehead, a small whimper escaping your lips. Before you can comprehend what's going on, your knees buckle, your eyes roll back-

"[Y/N!]" You hear a frantic voice sound, darkness taking over before you hit the ground.

*FLASHBACK*

"So um, would you like to take a walk?"

When you look up at him, he's smiling, you tilt your head to the side returning the same smile, "I'd love to."

You both walk slowly down the path, feeling his arm brush yours every now and then. The butterflies you have in your stomach are making you feel warm even as the wind picks up.

"So, do you have any other plans today?" Jin speaks as he looks over at you.

Your smile returns as you look toward the path. "I do not. What about you?" You turn to look at him once more.

"I don't either which then leads me to my next question." He says, wetting his lips.

"Go on." You press.

"There is a coffee shop about ten minutes from here," Jin says, and you realize you two are walking even closer side by side than a few minutes ago. "It's very cozy and they have some of the best coffee I've ever had. If you would like, I'd love to take you there."

"I think that is a fabulous idea."

He nods once, "Alright, the coffee shop it is!"

You can't help but chuckle at his enthusiasm especially the rest of the walk there. "Okay so if you thought that one was funny, just wait." Jin holds his hand out in front of him, "What is it called when a snowman has a temper tantrum?" Jin pauses for effect, while you hold back from laughing. "A meltdown!"

"Where in the world do you come up with this stuff?" You wonder, still giggling at his previous joke.

Jin shrugs his shoulders, "Google." He admits which causes you to laugh even harder. "Just wait, I have one more." He clears his throat. "What do you call ten Arctic hares hopping backward through the snow together?" He looks at you pretending to wait for an answer, "A receding hare line!"

Still laughing, you both arrive at the coffee shop, the strong smell of it hitting your nose as the warm air rushes to you. Jin asks what you would like still recovering from his goofiness, and he orders. Once you both have your coffees in hand, you take a seat on one of the couches in the empty lounge. The lights are dim which brings comfort and without thinking,

Jin and you sit so close your shoulders are touching.

"Sorry," You murmur, scooting a few inches away from him to give him some space. You haven't been on a date if that's what this has turned into, since you've moved to the city a few months ago, so it feels nice to finally get to know someone that is a possible date interest. You feel a blush creep to your cheeks.

"Don't be sorry." He grins. Right then, he moves closer to you, his shoulder touching yours. Before you can think, he gently puts his arm around your shoulders and gives you a tender squeeze; his handsome face so close you could kiss him. You hold eyes with him for a moment, and timidly you look away and stare at your coffee. Something about this human beside you has really found a way to make you nervous, and it typically takes a lot for you to get nervous. It's also taking everything in you not to grab his face and kiss him; or, cuddle your face into his chest.

"What brought you to the city?" He asks, looking down at his coffee then returning his eyes to you. You take a quick sip of your coffee before answering, "My job mostly. Plus, it's a new scenery too. You grew up more in the country."

Jin takes a sip of his coffee before continuing, "Do you like the city better?"

You think about it for a moment, "I do, and I don't. The country is quieter, whereas the city has more noise. I do enjoy certain areas of the city, like the park, some of the shops around here." You shrug your shoulders, then turn to look at Jin. "What about you? What got you into acting?"

Jin looks ahead for a moment, "It was always a dream of mine, even when I was younger. I graduated from Konkuk University with a degree in acting and art last year."

"Oh wow. That's amazing." You compliment. "I know earlier you mentioned you had an audition tomorrow, are you nervous?"

Jin tilts his head to the side still looking ahead, "I am, but I'm also excited. I'm not sure exactly which role I'll land, but I'm hoping for a movie."

"Good luck." You smile, "I think you'll do just fine."

Jin looks over at you and smiles, pulling on your heartstrings, "Thank you."

You two continue talking about your dream jobs, you admitting how you would like to host a show one day. For some reason, the conversation then leads to food which Jin gets very excited. "Oh, I need to cook for you sometime!" He exclaims. "You have to try some of my favorite dishes I make! But I have one question for you,"

"What's that?" Curiosity fills you for a moment.

"Do you know what raw duck is?" Jin looks at you with a straight face. Sitting back, his arm still around your shoulders, you furrow your eyebrows together trying to think of what it could be.

"I'm not really sure actually." Looking at him with defeat. "What is it?"

A grin starts to form on Jin's face as he holds back laughter, "Tornado."

"Oh," You bury your face in your hands as Jin ruptures into a fit of laughter.

"You took me seriously didn't you?" He says between laughs.

Both finishing your coffees after an hour or so, the two of you then make your way outside. You stand a few feet apart from him, each of you bundling your hands in your pockets from the cold.

"Do you have any pets?" Jin asks randomly and it catches you off guard.

"No, I don't." You pout. "I do have pets back in the country, they live with my parents since my apartment doesn't allow them. What about you?"

"I have a sugar glider." Jin answers, and you look over at him in surprise. "His name is Odengie."

"That is the cutest thing ever. I've actually never seen one in person before!"

"Oh, you'll have to meet him sometime," Jin says, his smile falls for a moment.

"Thank you, by the way." You mention, the cold wind starting to pick up. Taking a walk instead of staying in your apartment this morning ended up being a wonderful idea despite the weather.

"Anytime."Jin smiles, his eyes boring into yours. Before you can stop yourself, you're already to him, your hands on his shoulders, your lips meeting his. You feel Jin's hands on your waist as he pulls you even closer to him. Wrapping your arms around his neck, you feel your smile as you continue to kiss him.

When you pull away, you can't even put into words how perfect this moment is. The only sad part about all of it is you don't want him to go, and you're beginning to get the feeling that he doesn't want you to go either, especially with the way he's looking at you.

Jin looks as if he's struggling to talk, "There's um, there's- there's something wrong with my cellphone."

Confusion fills you as you stare at him blankly, "What? Did you drop it?"

"I don't have your number in it." Jin slips his phone from his pocket and hands it to you.

Laughter erupts from you as you type in your phone number.

"This has never happened to me before." Tears are in your eyes, you're laughing so hard. Jin wraps his arm around your waist once he puts his phone back in his pocket.

The both of you start walking down the sidewalk away from the coffee shop. You're not sure where the next destination will be, but at the moment you don't care. All you know is you're having fun with this handsome stranger who has a sugar glider and has a passion for cooking and acting and kisses like an angel.

As the two of you continue walking, you look at him and steal a quick kiss. Nothing in the world can ruin this moment. Absolutely nothing.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

The smell of chicken broth greets your nose as your eyes flutter open. Groggy, it takes you a moment to realize where you are. Your head is throbbing, and you rub your forehead with your fingers gently; slowly, you sit up then lean forward, your favorite blanket over your legs. A few clinking sounds coming from the kitchen, and the memory of Jin arriving who knows how long ago resurface.

You passed out, you realize, frustrated tears welling in your eyes. You feel so weak that you just don't want to move. "Hey, hey, hey, hey-" His voice is soft as he rushes to you, holding out his hands as if to catch you if you were to fall again. You can't even bring yourself to say a word, so you sit in silence. Jin reaches slowly to feel your forehead, "You're burning up." He jogs to the kitchen. Hearing liquid being poured into a bowl, his footsteps are careful as he walks back to you. You try to lift your arms, but they don't budge. Jin takes a seat on a mini step stool he must have brought from the kitchen and spoons some of what looks to be chicken noodle soup; he offers it to you. Skeptical, you hesitate a moment, flicking your eyes toward his. He can see the doubt in yours, but he gestures the spoon and bowl slightly trying to convince you to trust him. It's not that you think he is going to poison you or anything, it's the wonder of why he's even here, to begin with. You accept the spoonful of soup, the heavenly taste bringing a sense of relief to your body. Jin continues to feed you until the soup is gone.

"Here," He says setting the empty bowl aside, he offers you a glass of water he must have kept on the side table. You down about half the glass. With a sweet grin, he then takes the empty bowl and you hear him set it in the sink along with him refilling your glass of water. When he returns to you, you muster just enough strength to speak, "Why-" You clear your throat, "Why are you doing this?"

Jin takes a seat on the mini step stool, you can see relief in his eyes to hear your voice. He stares at his hands and murmurs, "I wanted to see you."

"But, how did you-" You begin.

"I paid Stan."

The look on your face, you don't even want to know what it looked like. You look away from Jin, not sure if you should be angry or what. Instead, you let out a chuckle, "You bribed my driver?"

Jin breathes a small laugh returning his eyes to his hands, "Maybe."

Shaking your head, you decide to lean back onto your pillow, relieving some of the throbbing from your head. As much as you want to believe he is a good person, it's hard to. What happened two years ago isn't something you can just brush off and pretend never happened. Especially with what's going on right now. And even though you should be angry, you want to be angry, 100% infuriated- you can't. You're so physically and mentally drained, you just can't.

"Thank you," You whisper. Jin lifts his head, his mouth ajar, eyes wide. A tear slips down your cheek. You don't want to fight this anymore. He's already told you he's sorry, and here he is, right beside you making sure you're getting taken care of. On top of that, you're not alone.

For the first time since this whole scandal began, you're not alone.

You meet his eyes, and right then the tears fall, they fall and fall. Jin rushes to you and wraps you in his arms. Your body shakes as you bury your face in his chest; all the pain, all the anger, all the stress, all the depression, and all the guilt flowing down your cheeks. You don't want it anymore. None of it.

As you wrap your arms around him, you feel his chin quiver against the side of your head. He doesn't say a word.

He just lets you cry.

****

Your breathing is heavy as you stand at the large, mahogany door in front of you. Your mind is racing along with the thudding of your heart, your hands shaking as you try to talk yourself out of what you're about to do.

C'mon [Y/N], you can do this. What the hell are you waiting for?

Scolding yourself, you inhale then exhale slowly, closing your eyes.

You left Jin this morning; he was still sleeping peacefully on the couch after he held you all night while you cried. He has no idea that you're here, nor does he have any idea of what you were determined to do after waking up in his arms. Opening your eyes, you quickly make the gesture to knock on the huge door shaking your head from the memory. You really thought you were just crazy before, but at this moment, right now, you consider yourself the most insane person in the world.

"Coming!" You hear a voice shout, the sound of faint footsteps rushing to the door.
You take another quick breath, the nerves in your stomach making another huge wave.
The door opens.

It takes her a minute, starting with your boot heels, then trailing her eyes to your face.

Furrowing her eyebrows, her eyes connect with yours and they widen in surprise.

"Hi." You say suddenly, but very softly, you will be stunned if she heard you. Her eyes still wide, mouth ajar, she takes one step back into the house, looking behind her to make sure no one is around. When she returns to face you, you continue, "I'm, I'm-"

"I know who you are." She says, catching you off guard. "How did you-?"
You look down at your heels, wetting your lips then returning to look at Jin's ex-wife. She's absolutely breathtaking with her red lipstick, perfect jawline, and her hair curled, laying flawlessly on her shoulders.

"I paid Stan." You admit.

Confusion clouds her expression, but to your surprise, she lets out a lenient chuckle, "You what?"

"I know how this sounds," You begin, timidly looking at her, cuddling more into your jacket. "I just- I needed- I just-" Stuttering your words, you take a second to let out a long sigh. "I just needed to see you."

She eyes you for a moment, remaining silent, then leans more into the door. "Yongseo," You begin. From what you can tell, she's not showing any signs of anger, but you cautiously gather your words before continuing, "I know it's been a few years, but I haven't fully recovered from what happened." You grip the fabric inside your pockets to bring you some sense of comfort. "And, I will never be able to live with myself if I pretend it never happened."

Her lips then lay in a straight line, her expression sad as she continues to hear you out, "I came here today, because-" You grit your teeth, fighting back tears, "Because I just needed to see you, and tell you, I am so sorry for what I did to you."

Yongseo folds her arms, and you continue to speak, "I am so sorry." The tears are still welling in your eyes, and you just refuse to let them fall, you hate crying in front of people, but it feels like these days that's all you have left in you to do, is just cry, "I know I don't deserve your forgiveness, and I never will. But, if I would have known he was married, nothing would have ever happened between him and I. Nothing at all."

Yongseo stands straighter, realization filling her expression. You look down for a moment and shake your head, "In fact, if I would have known he was married, I would have told him to-"

"To f**k off?" She says. Looking at her in surprise, you see a smirk on her lips, her arms still folded across her chest, and her eyes showing a sense of understanding.

"Yeah," You breathe in relief, wiping at a tear that managed to escape on your cheek, "Yeah, that's exactly what I would have said."

Yongseo nods, "You know, you are probably the bravest person I have ever met."
It's your turn for your eyebrows to furrow, did I hear her right?

"I forgive you.. and, you've gained my respect." She pauses, "Besides, you didn't even know I existed. So, in all reality, none of it was your fault. And, it took me time to realize it, but I have never been more thankful for anyone in my life."

"What?" You breathe as confusion takes over. She- she's thankful for me?

"You heard me," She says softly. Yongseo rests her hands on your shoulders and gives a gentle squeeze, "To be honest with you, I was very young when Jin and I married.
I was 18 at the time, and Jin was 21." She moves her hands back to fold them across her chest, "Our parents really-" She takes a moment to find the right word, "Our parents really pressured us to marry." She looks back at you, "We tried very hard to love each other, but we just.. couldn't." You listen to her, all of this is still new to you. "Actually, back when I was 16, I was in love with someone else." She admits, "And when he broke my heart, I think that brokenness plus the pressure of my parents really drove me to agree to marry Jin." She runs her hand through her hair, "He is a wonderful person; he really helped me through some dark times, but our relationship was more of a friendly relationship, and we remained together for as long as we did just to make our parents proud."

Sadness overwhelms you as she continues,

"Actually," She lets out a laugh, "It was hella awkward when our parents started begging us for grandchildren." You nod your head in agreement not even sure how you can relate to that part. Yongseo gives you a wide grin as she stifles a laugh, "We tried to avoid family get-togethers as much as possible, we would make up some lie that Jin had the stomach flu or that I was exhausted from a 14-hour shift at my job."

"I'm sorry.." You murmur, not sure what else to say other than that.

"Don't be." She gives you a kind side grin. "As I said before, I am very thankful for you. If it wasn't for you, Jin and I would have never found an escape nor a good reason to tell our parents why we were divorcing. And..." She pauses, looking behind her with happiness in her eyes, "I would have never found Tae again."

You and her share a sweet look before she speaks again, "Besides, Jin checks on Tae and me every now and then to make sure everything is okay. He and Tae have been best friends for a few years now."

For some reason your trachea decides to react to the comment she just made, surprise filling you as you cough into the crook of your arm. Did she just say Jin knows about her and Taehyung!?

"Whoa, are you okay?" Concern fills her as you nod trying to suppress the coughs still burying your mouth into your arm.

"Yeah-" You manage to say, feeling your face flush red. Once the coughing ceases, you stand straighter and shake your head, "I'm sorry."

Yongseo giggles, "You're fine. It happens." She shrugs. She then continues her story, "It took our parents a while to accept our divorce, but after a year, Jin and I found a way to move past it. He apologized, I forgave him. And-" She pauses, giving you a sweet look, "We found a way to start over. But, as friends like it should have been all along."

The two of you hold eyes for a moment, you still awkward and speechless as per usual. Yongseo, still giving you a soft grin, speaks, "I don't know about you, but after today, I think we're going to be the best of friends."

Relief floods within you at her words, "I would like that very much."

"Good," She says, pulling you into a warm hug.

For the first time in two and a half years, you feel peace.

And that is something you hope never goes away.

****

Walking into your house, you're greeted by the smell of frying eggs and the savory smell of meat. Closing the door behind you, you slowly round the corner to the kitchen, the view you see melting your heart. Still, in the same attire as last night, his messy hair sticking out from all sides, Jin continues turning the meat then reaching to stir what looks to be a pot of boiling rice. Off to the side are two plates already decorated with slices of your favorite fruit.

You stand at the dining room table, resting your hand on one of the chairs, taking in the fact he is still here, waiting just for you. After visiting Yongseo, you have never felt so free, so alive. Thankfully she lives more in the country, so any sign of paparazzi would be rare, so you and she had faith before you left that you weren't seen.

And here is Jin, the opposite of who you thought he was. This whole time, you had no idea that he and Yongseo were on good terms. Or, that he and Taehyung have been best friends and that he knew of Yongseo and Taehyung's relationship. Or, that he and Yongseo were pressured into a marriage that never really could blossom into what they hoped for. She forgave him, she forgave her parents, and even though you always believed you didn't deserve it, she forgave you too.

After a minute or two, you decide to greet him, "Hey, I-"

"AHH!" Jin jumps back, eyes wide, throwing his arms in the air, the cooking utensil flying from his hand making a clanging noise once it hits the ground. You spring back, your hand flying to your chest.

"What's the matter!? Are you okay!?" You gasp. When Jin realizes it's you he bends forward resting his hands on his knees. "Oh man, you scared me; I didn't hear you come in."

Erupting in a fit of laughter, you can barely breathe, Jin blushes, "Yeah, yeah, keep on laughing."

"I'm sorry I just- that was too funny." Taking your jacket off, you walk over to hang it in your coat closet, then you take a seat at the table while you let Jin recover.

"You don't have to do this." You say admiring him, his back facing you as he carefully watches the cooking food. Jin, without saying a word, turns to look at you and grins, slightly bowing. Biting the inside of your lip, you walk over to him, putting your hands on his waist, you reach up and kiss him. He pulls away, his eyes surprised, "What was that for?"

You then pull him into a hug.

"I forgive you." You whisper. Feeling his hands on your shoulders, it's as if he tenses for a moment letting your words sink in; he then embraces you, holding you so tight you never want him to let go, your hearts beating together, the sound of sizzling food filling the silence.

When you face each other, he timidly bows his head as if to thank you, resting his hand on your face.

Once the food is finished, Jin prepares your plates and sets them both on the table. You both begin digging into the meal. After Jin takes a bite out of his slice of the egg he speaks, "Why don't eggs tell jokes?"

You chew at the meat you already placed in your mouth, eyeing him suspiciously, "Oh no." You say.

"They'd crack each other up!" He giggles as he stuffs another bite of food in his mouth.

Rolling your eyes, you cut another slice of the meat. Ten minutes later, you finish your plates and Jin gathers the dishes and starts loading them into the dishwasher. You follow him into the kitchen, your back resting against the counter, your arms folded across your chest.

"Do you remember what raw duck is?" He then asks, flashing you the side grin that lowkey drove you wild two years ago.

"Oh Jin, please don't make me say it." You beg, placing your fingers to your forehead.

"You do remember don't you." He accuses, closing the dishwasher and pressing the button to start it. He grabs a hand towel and dries his hands swiftly.

"I do." You admit.

"Then say it." He tosses the towel on the counter next to the stove and walks to stand in front of you, placing his hands on your waist.

Letting him stare into your eyes, you refuse to budge for a good 30 seconds, before you sigh in defeat, "Tornado."

Jin chuckles his cute, high pitch chuckle, and you pull him into another hug. "Thank you." You say, "For everything."

Jin tips your chin up to look at him, and before you know it, his lips meet yours and you wrap your arms around his neck as he leans into you.

Forgiveness is a beautiful thing. Because at the end of the day, there is such thing as redemption, especially for someone who will do anything to fix the mistake they made; for someone who is willing to change for the better and fight to make things right.

You and Jin are just two souls who happened to long for the same thing. The one thing that you both needed to find peace again. Forgiveness. Not only forgiveness for one another or the forgiveness of the person wronged. But you both also needed to remember to find forgiveness for yourselves.

As Jin holds you, his kisses gentle, you can't help but feel the immense joy filling your heart. If there is anything, you want more in this world,

It's for this peace to last forever.

The End ❤️
