True Love Never Dies

With All Of My Heart.

Jana’s POV.
Everyone was looking at us and Ryan who walked away from the scene. He was really upset which made me upset too. So i walked out of the house holding my elbow which was bleeding out. Shaun ran after me to see if i was okay.

“Stop Jana!” Shaun yells at Jana as he runs after her in front of the house.

I stopped and listened to what he had to say.

“Let me take you to the hospital, Jana.” Shaun says coming towards me looking at my elbow.

Jana pulls away from Shaun & says, “i'm fine, really.”

Jana takes a deep breath & says, “we should stop all of this. Apparently your mom doesn't like me and so does your brother. We all know how it's going to end up if this keeps on happening.”

“The reason why i accepted your proposal was because i thought i would be accepted into your family because there is only my mom and brother left in my life. But i guess i was wrong Shaun.” Jana continues to say with her heart.

“We can still get married without any of this problem”, Shaun says trying to make the situation better.

Jana says, “we can't just get married on our own without people by our side. Your friends and family should all be there to support you.”

Jana continues to say, “for the last couple of months, i've been trying to play nice with your mom but it seems like its getting worse by the days. I don't want to deal with it anymore.”

“Is not just my mom, is it?” Shaun asks trying to get an understanding from Jana.

“Our religions changed everything. We’re like two different people Shaun. We can't change peoples minds about it. I love your faithfulness to your religion and i love how i can go to the meetings with you without being baptised. But you know it's wrong. i want to be able to maintain my religion. Religions should not matter at all. All that matters is us being happy and accepting our love for each other. Nothing on this world should matter at all.” Jana explains slowly.

Jana continues to ask in confusion & then says, “why is it so hard to love someone of the different religion? why can't we be both share a love for it? No baptise, just love and marriage.”

Shaun says holding onto Jana’s hands, “we can do both and love each other. the reason why I asked you to marry me was because I truly love you and I believe that we can spend the rest of our lives being together and making a family.”

“I want that too Shaun but…” Jana says & stops trying not to say it.

“But what, Jana?” Shaun asks.

Jana says, “but we should take a break. We have to put this wedding aside and think about everything we’re about to do. I really want your mom and brother to be at your wedding because they are possibly the only family you have left in YOUR life and you don't even know it.”

Shaun calls out Jana’s name, “Jana.”

“We have to think about everyone else and how they are going to be happy”, Jana says clearly.

“I'm leaving tomorrow for Caroline’s bachelorette vacation. I'm going to be gone for a week. It can give you time to think about it. I'm going to stay at Caroline’s tonight so don't wait up for me Shaun.” Jana says.

Shaun says, “Jana.”

Jana says, “i'm sorry Shaun.”

I was heartbroken and cried as i walked away from Shaun. I needed time to think about everything before we actually take the next steps in our lives and getting married. I wanted Shaun to do the same back too. I hope he reconcile with his mom when i'm gone.

I took a taxi back to the apartment, grabbed all of my bags, and changed out of my dress. Darin came by to pick me up to go back to their house. We were so quiet in the car. I sat in the passenger seat while Darin drove me to their house. He saw how tired and upset i was and so he didn't bother to ask. That's the one thing i liked about Darin. He’s not the kind to ask others how they feel by the way they look. But he will ask you if you want to talk about it. He didn't ask me tonight.

After 20 minutes of driving outside of the city and near the beach, we have arrived at Caroline and Darin’s house. Their house was so beautiful. It was facing the beach. The house is everything Caroline talked about her entire life and she wanted for the longest time.

Darin drove up to the front of the house and i got off with my suitcases. He drove into the garage while i walked up to the front door. I ranged the doorbell and Caroline came out in her pajamas. We smiled at each other and hugged. She walked me inside of the house with my things. We sat in the living room and talked for a little while.

“What happened to your elbow? It’s bleeding Jana.” Caroline takes notice of Jana’s elbow, asks, and says.

“Oh. we had a fight, that's all.” Jana says calmly.

Caroline says, “i’ll be right back.”

Caroline went into the kitchen to get something and i just sat there on the couch.

I hear my call phone ring and chimed from the notifications. I take a look at it and there were messages from Joyce, Shaun, and missed calls from Shaun too. He even left a voicemail but i didn't want to listen to it. I was still sad from what happened tonight at the party.

Then i see Caroline come back to sit on the couch with the first aid kid in her hands. She starts cleaning the wound on my elbow and bandaging it up neatly. And then she asks me…

Caroline asks, “you want to tell me who you fought tonight?”

“Shaun’s mom invited everyone at the Kingdom Hall over to her house for a party. Everyone dressed very nice. But a little after we danced, Shaun and Ryan starts talking which ended up in a fight.” Jana explains.

“Between the both of them?” Caroline asks.

Jana nods her head & says, “yeah. Then i came over and said whatever i needed to say to Ryan but he got so mad and slapped me on my face which made me land on the ground. My elbow landed in the wrong position and bled out.”

Caroline asks, “what did you say to Ryan?”

“He said that i was going to make a mistake in marrying his brother Shaun. Then i told him that he made the mistake of not showing up that night at the bowling alley to meet me. That's when he got so mad and slapped me.” Jana says.

“Oh Jana. you know what you have to do now.” Caroline says.

Jana says, “i told Shaun that we needed a break and that i needed this week off to just think about everything.”

Caroline asks, “do you love him Jana?”

“With all of my heart. He’s the one for me.” Jana smiles & admits.

“Then you should marry him”, Caroline smiles & says.

Jana says, “i can’t.”

Caroline asks, “what's stopping you? The whole religion thing? The evil mother in law?”

“All of the above”, Jana says.

“If you both love each other then none of that matters. All of it kicks out your love for him.” Caroline says as she leans back on the couch.

Jana leans her arm on the top of the couch which she puts her hands on the side of her forehead & asks, “since when did you become so wise?”

Caroline smiles & says, “i learned a little or two from my relationship with Darin. We learned to work it out somehow.”

“Isn't that why you two are getting married in two weeks?” Jana jokingly asks.

“Yes. don't tell me about it. I might get cold feet from hearing you say it.” Caroline says.

Jana giggles & says, “i’m really happy for you Caroline.”

Caroline smiles & says, “so am i. Lets go to bed, we have to wake up early tomorrow morning for our awesome girls trip.”

“Right”, Jana happily smiles & says.
