Just A Number

I was in the backseat of Hoseok’s car sitting next to Jimin heading off to Incheon Airport…to the Philippines. I was still feeling overwhelmed as they told me everything, this whole time Minyong knew about this trip, Jungkook talked to her a few days before he left to plan my birthday.

“How ya feeling?” Jimin nudged me, “A little nervous, I never been to the Philippines before.” “Ah, it’s so beautiful you’ll love it,” Namjoon said facing us from the passenger seat, “what if I get lost?” “It’s kind of impossible for you to get on the wrong plane Yuna, relax!” I took a deep breath trying to relax but it wasn't helping, I’m even more nervous to see Jungkook, it’s been almost 2 months since I saw him in person.

We pulled up to the airport, the guys got out of the car to help me with my bags, which was only my purse and a duffle bag Minyong had already packed for me and to hand me my tickets. “Well, I guess I’ll see you guys…in a week.” “Yes you will, have fun Yuna.” Hoseok said giving me a hug, the two others joined in, “Thank you guys…really.” I whispered.



I finally boarded the plane, I was in awe when I found out I was going to be in first class! It was going to be a 4-and-a-half-hour flight to Cebu, Philippines. I can’t believe this is happening, my first time going on a big trip for my birthday and spending it with Jungkook! I can’t believe I’m on my way to see him! I really feel like I’m dreaming. My phone vibrated in my pocket, it was a text from Jungkook!

JK: I know you’re probably still surprised about everything, sorry we had to keep it a secret haha, but Happy Birthday jagi, I can’t wait to see you, I’m going to make it the best week for you. Have a safe flight.


The plane finally landed in Cebu, as I got off the plane I could feel the hot humid air hitting me, it was only 2 in the afternoon. As I finished going through customs/immigration I saw a man who was nicely dressed and built holding a sign with my name on it, judging by his looks he’s definitely Korean.

“Uh, hello?” He looks down at me, “Kang Yuna?” “T-that’s me.” “Nice to meet you I’m Hwang Daejung, Mr. Jeon’s bodyguard, I’ll be taking you to him.” He bows, “Nice to meet you too, thank you.” He carried my bags as we walked out the airport to a Mercedes benz sprinter van, geez I always seen celebs in these things I never thought I would actually be in one.

Once I got into the van the long ride made me fall asleep, I didn’t nap on the plane since my mind was racing about everything. The van door opening is what woke me up, “Ms. Kang, we are here.” Daejung smiled politely, I got out of the van in the scorching heat, man, the Philippines is the hottest place I ever been to. “Wow,” I whispered to myself, we were at a resort, it was huge…beautiful!! “Right this way,” Daejung grabbed my bags, we walked around the entrance building to the side where the beach was, oh my god, white sands!!

There were small cute villas down the beach, “W-we’re staying here?!” my mouth dropped, Daejung slightly chuckles as we continued to walk. It was so beautiful here, the water was clear, white sands, the beach wasn’t crowded, this is so perfect, I really think I am dreaming!

We walked to the last Villa on the beach, it was like a cute little house, my heart was beating faster as we reached the door, Daejung rang the doorbell, am I really going to see Jungkook?! The door slowly opened and there he was standing in front of me…shirtless…his hair was dripping wet…I think I’m going to faint.

“My birthday girl…you made it.” Jungkook gave me that bunny smile I was longing to see for so long.
