I hung up the phone and see the three walking out of the restaurant. We spent all day shopping around Times Square and the district there. As I was browsing in this one store selling charms, I came across a keychain that had a picture of a mountain. I picked it up because it had meaning to me and Max. I wanted to get him that because it reminded me of our very first hike together and how we met through work mutual friends. I held onto it knowing I was going to buy it. Then I came across a necklace that had the same replica of a shark's teeth. I remembered Alex telling me a story about how much he missed his dad who passed away when he was young. His dad used to take him fishing every weekend to catch fishes at this lake. I wanted to get him that because I wanted him to always have a piece of his dad by his side and that he wouldn't miss him too much. So I grabbed the two items and checked it out. “I see that you had bought the shark's teeth necklace”, the girl says.
Jana smiles and says, “is there any significance on the shark's teeth necklace?”
The girl says, “people had said that it brings good luck to the person who's wearing it.”
“What kind of luck?”, Jana asks curiously.
“Very good luck”, the girl says.
“Thank you”, Jana says as she gets the stuff in a small bag from the girl.
The girl says with a smile, “i hope whoever is wearing the necklace gets all the luck they need or want.”
Jana says, “i hope so too, thank you.”
When i walked away from the counter after paying, Caroline approached me and asked me something as we walked together to the next store. When walking there, Caroline asks me…
Caroline asks curiously, “what did you buy at the store?”
Jana says, “just a present for Max and Alex.”
“What did you get them?”, Caroline asks.
“A mountain keychain for Max when we first met through mutual friends when we hiked together. And a shark's teeth necklace for Alex since he really missed his dad. His dad used to take him fishing when he was growing up but not anymore”, Jana explains each item.
Caroline says, “it seems like Alex’s gift is more meaningful than the other.”
Jana says, “oh Caroline.”
“What?” Caroline asks.
“You know so much, don't you?” Jana says.
Caroline says, “i may know more than you think.”
Jana chuckles with a smile & says, “well, i'm proud to call you one of my best friends.”
“Whatever you decide or do, i just hope you did it because you're happy Jana.” Caroline reminds Jana about happiness.
“Of course Caroline. Thanks.” Jana says with a smile.
Caroline’s POV.
After hearing that from Jana, I was worried for her. Something was definitely wrong there. Speaking of relationships. I think that Bailee and Marcel are the only people who are happy together. Thinking back, me and Gary are having trouble communicating with each other. He’s thinking of moving back to his hometown in fields and wanting me to go with him. I’ve been having second thoughts on moving elsewhere in the state. What should i do? I’m currently thinking about it now.
Me, Jana, Bailee, and Payton were all tired from walking around New York City and shopping. So we headed back to the hotel where we stayed and rest for a little while. Payton took a nice nap while Jana were on her phone looking through social media. Bailee were laying on the bed watching a little TV. I was at the desk checking some emails from my boss. I wanted to see if he had sent me an email on the project i sent in before i left on vacation. Still, nothing from my boss. So i joined Bailee next to her on the bed watching some TV as well. After an hour later, Payton and me woke up from our nap. We continued on wearing the clothes from the morning. As i was touching up my make up, Bailee says to us…
Bailee says, “Marcel wants to have dinner with us, if that's okay with you girls.”
Bailee continues to say, “he really wants to get to know you three more while we’re all here together.”
Jana says, “i don't mind at all. He can come too.”
Payton says, “you know we can't say no to Marcel.”
Caroline says, “we’re okay with it.”
“I know i could count on you girls if anything happens.” Bailee says proudly.

Me, Jana, Payton, and Bailee headed out of the hotel going to the lobby. Our uber driver was already waiting for us outside so we went into the car as soon as we saw him. After a 25 minute drive, we arrived at this fancy restaurant away from the city. It wasn't any place that i've been to in California, so it was definitely new for me. We walked into the restaurant, up the waitress, and asked for a reservation.
Bailee says, “Hi. we have a reservation for Marcel.”
Waitress says as she checks the computer monitor, “Yes. Mr. Marcel is already here waiting for you.”
Waitress continues to say, “Let me walk you to your table, ma’am.”
“Thank you very much.” Bailee says with a smile.
The waitress walked all 4 of us to the table. As we reached the table, we saw Marcel sitting there looking through the menu. Bailee were so happy to see Marcel and hugged him right away. He stood up and greeted us one by one shaking our hands.
Marcel introduces himself to Jana, Caroline, and Payton. “It’s finally so nice to meet you girls. Bailee has told me so much about you all. I’m Marcel Brown.”
“I'm Caroline Mason”, Caroline introduces herself first.
“Jana Lily”, Jana then introduces herself to Marcel.
“And you already know me, Payton Newitt”, Payton reminds Marcel who she is again.
Marcel says, “Good to meet you all.”
Marcel continues to say, “let's sit and order some food.”
As we started to take our seats, i could tell that Bailee was proud of us when introducing each other to Marcel. She was filled with happiness and excited that we finally met him in person. When we were looking at the menu, Marcel started to ask questions and not making it so awkwardly silent. I knew he was trying his best not to make it so quiet between us.
“So how was the flight here from California?” Marcel asks curiously.
“It was rather fun and we got a lot of sleep on the way here”, Jana says with a smile.
“For someone people, it was fun but i hardly got any sleep”, Payton says in her obnoxious voice.
“Lets just say, it was a long trip and everyone’s different when it comes to traveling”, Bailee says.
Marcel says, “i never liked traveling so far away. I only like road trips, they are the best.”
Caroline asks, “where have you traveled to or road trips to?”
Marcel explains, “besides that one time i went on a road trip to California to see Bailee for the first time, i went to Canada. I have family there so i went for like a week.”
“And i think that was probably it”, Marcel says.
“Now i want to go on a roadtrip, someday”, Jana says.
Marcel says, “we should all go with our boyfriends one time together.”
Bailee says, “oh, that should be a fun time.”
The food came out and we all ate. The food was so yummy and i totally recommend anyone who is in town to have a look at this place. Everything was delicious and it was worth the money we paid for. Bailee and Marcel wanted to take a walk around the neighborhood. They wanted alone time and we let them go off on their own. Me, Jana, and Payton took an uber back to the hotel where we staying. When we got to the hotel, we went into the elevator to head on up.
Jana’s POV.
As we got into the elevator of the hotel, i heard someone calling my name. So i stopped the elevator doors for it to stay open. It was Sam Vince.
Jana says to Caroline and Payton, “You two go on up. I’ll be up in a sec.”
Caroline and Payton nodded their head in sync. I went out of the elevator and the doors closed behind me. I stood there to talk to Sam Vince.
Jana says, “Sam.”
Sam says, “Jana.”
“How did you know where to find me? I mean, we just met each other yesterday.” Jana asks & says.
“I know someone in this building and i was just visiting. Then i saw you when i was getting off the elevator just now.” Sam says.
Jana says, “it sure is fate that we are meeting again after a day.”
Sam says & asks, “since you and i are here, why don't we take a walk and catch up?”
“Sure. i would love that.” Jana says.
Me and Sam took a stroll outside of the hotel and into a park nearby. We began to talk about what we have been doing these past couple of years.
“So what have you’ve been up to Jana?” Sam asks curiously.
“Well, i still live in LA and working as a Kindergarten teacher at an elementary school now.” Jana says proudly at her job.
Sam asks, “wow, for that long huh?”
Jana says, “yeah, i've lived there all of my life and i love it.”
“I moved here after high school and went to college. After graduating college, i got a great opportunity to work at the new Apple headquarters in the city. So i chose to stay here until i settle down and finish paying off college debts.” Sam says.
“Paying off college debts aren't always fun. Rather tiring.” Jana says.
Sam says, “how long are you staying in the city for?”
Jana says, “i have all day tomorrow and leaving Tuesday morning.”
“Are you going back home to LA on Tuesday?” Sam asks.
“Me and the girls are heading over to Vegas for the rest of the week.” Jana says.
Sam says, “how fun. I was going to ask you to lunch or dinner tomorrow but i have to work overtime at the company for the next couple of days.”
Jana smiles & says, “it's okay Sam. We will eventually see each other again and who knows, you’ll come back to LA. that is, your home.”
“Your right. And when i do go home to LA, i will meet you again and we can continue this talk.” Sam says.
“Of course, we can.” Jana says.
Sam admits, “i got to admit something.”
Jana asks curiously turning her head to look at Sam, “admit what?”
“I had second thoughts when you confessed that you liked me in high school. I thought about it for a while and you were the only person i'd talk to for a long time.” Sam says.
“Why didn't you do anything Sam?” Jana asks.
Sam says, “i liked the way it was and i didn't want to lose you as a friend. You were like a best friend to me where we could talk about anything, anytime of the day. I liked you for that Jana.”
Jana says, “after you told me all of that, i suddenly gave up.”
“You shouldn't given up because of me Jana. i wanted you to learn something out of this and not fall for someone like me ever again. I didn't have any intentions on hurting you.” Sam says.
“I know you didn't. And i guess that i learned now to not fall in love with someone who doesn't love you back.” Jana says.
Sam apologizes, “i'm sorry Jana.”
Jana says, “it's okay. I guess i'm learning that now too with the guy i'm dating now.”
“What's wrong with the relationship you're in?” Sam asks.
“We’ve been dating for like 3 years. There isn't any spark between us anymore.” Jana says in a sad tone.
Sam says & asks, “not to sound mean but if you don't feel that way, then why don't you break up with him?”
Jana says, “because i'm too nice. I don't want to hurt his feelings.”
Jana continues to say, “he once asked me to marry him and move to London with him.”
“What did you say?” Sam asks.
“I said that i would think about it which also means that i don't want to move anywhere else but stay in LA. I really like where my life is right now.” Jana says confidently.
Sam says, “when we were in high school, you’d always taught me to stand tall and be proud of myself. Never let anyone tell you what to do with your life or control it.”
Sam continues & asks, “you taught me that remember?”
Jana says, “i did but i don't know why i can't seem to take my own advice now. I guess i'm scared.”
“You weren't ever scared.” Sam says reminding Jana.
“Now i am.” Jana says.
Sam says, “well. whatever it may be, just listen to your heart and do what it encourages you to do. Don't ever think about what other people think about you.”
Jana smiles & says, “thanks Sam. it's good to have you back, old friend.”
“I better get you back to the hotel so you can rest up.” Sam says.
Me and Sam walked back to the hotel which was about a 5 minute walk back. We hugged each other and i left to the elevator to my room.
Payton’s POV.
I was fidgeting in the room wondering what Jana and Sam were talking about. I'm a very nosy person when it comes to gossip so i wanted to know what they were talking about. Caroline just got out of the bathroom and drying her hair with a towel. She looks at me and asks…
“What are you wandering around for?” Caroline asks worrying for Payton.
“Aren’t you curious of what Jana and Sam are talking about?” Payton asks.
Caroline says, “no.”
Payton asks, “not just a little curious?”
“No.” Caroline says with a straight face while drying her hair with a towel.
“Your no help.” Payton says.
Caroline says, “it's not your business to care Payton.”
Payton argues back, “i have to care, we have to care. Jana is our friend and we as her friend should know this problem of hers.”
“You're getting analytical with me. I don't like it. Besides, why aren't you worried about Bailee and Marcel instead? They might be making love tonight somewhere.” Caroline says.

Then finally, the door made a noise to open. I pretended to get clothes out of my suitcase to shower. I peeked over and Jana walks into the room normally. I got my clothes and walked to the bathroom not knowing anything. I took a nice long shower.

Jana says, “she’s out longer than usual. Maybe she's getting it with Marcel tonight.”

Me and Caroline laughed together. When Payton came out of the bathroom, it was my turn to wash up. I took a very nice relaxing shower, one of the best. It was a long night and we were all tired. We slept the night. We didn't even know when Bailee got back until we woke up the next morning.

Me and Caroline laughed together. When Payton came out of the bathroom, it was my turn to wash up. I took a very nice relaxing shower, one of the best. It was a long night and we were all tired. We slept the night. We didn't even know when Bailee got back until we woke up the next morning.
