I may be difficult, but you don’t like it easy (Key x Reader)

Kibum was always a pain in the ass. Quixotic queen, dramatic diva, posh primadonna, sassy son of a snitch, you had a lot of nicknames for him. And yes, all of them sort of rhyming like this. What could you do? The guy never let you off the hook! You were his favorite target when it came to nagging and being a full-time jerk. Today he was impossible, everything you said went in one ear and out the other. Your patience was wearing thin and it was affecting your job. Of course, your stress wasn’t the only thing affecting your job. Your mixed feelings for Key were too.
Being a SHINee manager wasn’t easy, but he was the only one who gave you trouble. You felt like a kindergarten teacher sometimes, with a naughty student testing your limits. But in other moments, when he was more relaxed, he’d give the warmest of the smiles, and it was enough for you to forgive all his temper.
“Kibum, are you even listening to me?!”you said after reading his schedule out loud for tomorrow for the third time. That night, you sat next to him on the sofa of his house, your legs shaking with all the anxiety. He didn’t have any major shootings or anything too complex the next day, but still... He had to wake up (always a challenge), exercise in the morning, have lunch with his family by noon, then head for a radio interview in the afternoon (nowadays those are broadcast, so he needed to get there in time for a little makeup) and at night he had to meet with the staff and some other SHINee members to plan a surprise birthday party for Taemin.
Sweet Taeminie... He was such an angel, never giving you trouble. Unlike the man sitting beside you right now. But, in other hand, Taemin didn’t live in your deepest fantasies either, so...
“I’m sorry, I don’t speak loser. Say it in a language I can understand”he said, closing the fashion magazine he was reading and giving you a cheerful fake smile. “Look, as much as I appreciate your twisted sense of humor, I don’t have time for your brilliant remarks. You have to promise me you will behave tomorrow with manager Lee!”you said, yanking the magazine from his hands and putting the sheet with his schedule in its place.
Manager Lee was a softie who let the boys do whatever they wanted, so you were more than worried. Sure, the least that could happen would be getting late to every appointment. But the worst... With Kibum you always dreaded the worst.
“Wait a minute. Why do I have to go with manager Lee tomorrow? Why don’t you just do your job?”he asked, frowning. He didn’t even look at the schedule! You twisted the magazine imagining it was his neck, your face livid. “Kim Kibum, I’ve been telling you the whole week that I have the day off tomorrow!”you said between your teeth, fighting your urge to smack his devious head.
He blinked at you like you really did said something in a language he couldn't comprehend. “But... you never... you never take a day off...”he said slowly, sitting straight and lowering the sheet on his hand as his brain was having major difficulty in understanding the concept. He looked at you, clear confusion on his face. You rolled your eyes. “Yes. and that’s exactly why I need a day off”you told him, standing up. You put your mailman bag on your shoulder and were ready to leave when you felt his fingers reaching for your wrist, stopping you.
He stood up now and had the weirdest expression you’ve ever seen on him. And he was the emperor of facial expressions.
He swallowed dry. “What’s wrong? I thought you liked manager Lee”you asked him.“Besides, I think you can live without being a pain in my neck for one single day”you told him. In a moment, his face darkened, his eyes became hard on you, his lips pressed together in a displeased thin line. He let you go.
You retreated your hand, massaging your wrist and trying to decipher his behavior. You threw your bag on the coffee table.
He crossed his arms and cocked his head, staring at you.“If you don’t come to work tomorrow, I won’t get out of the house. I’ll purposely miss all my appointments”he said and you had to take a big breath so you wouldn’t explode in anger. Your hands were on your hips, your head down. You were trying to find the right words to talk some sense into him when he did it. He made you explode.
“Oh, and I’ll tell the boss it was your fault because you didn’t show me tomorrow’s schedule”he announced with a wicked grin, tearing the paper in half. Twice. Then a third time while your jaw dropped. And finally throwing the remains on the floor. His arrogant expression was back on.
“Kibum, what the hell!?”you shouted, coming closer to him to slap him (or punch him, who knows?) but restraining yourself in the last minute. Instead you yelled at his presumptuous face.“Stop being such a baby! Why are you so difficult? The others don’t give so much crap!”you were gesticulating fiercely.“You know what? You’re the reason I need a day off! I can’t even look at you anymore without getting nervous!”and by then you poked him on his chest.
But he caught your hand, pulling you closer abruptly.
You were confused, fury still storming inside you. You tried to pull away, but he trapped you with his other hand on your back. You never been this close to him, and while half of you were mad beyond measurement, the other half focused on him... The smell of his french cologne, his slightly puckered heart-shaped lips, his uneven eyebrow that you found very charming, his strong neck and those... Those deep brown chocolate eyes that held your gaze and hypnotized you.
His voice was a whisper, only louder than your heartbeat. “And you... you’re the reason I’m so difficult. You make me restless. I also can’t look at you without getting nervous...”his mouth was approaching yours, his figure leaning over you as he watched your moves closely asking for your permission without words. When your eyes involuntarily closed and you slightly threw your head back, he read you like a book. Or a fashion magazine for that matter.
His soft lips found yours in a deep kiss, rushed but precise. His tongue demanded entrance at once, and you gladly parted your lips to give him access. It was a confession kiss; so it was boiling with anger, longing, warmth and that pristine sensation that intoxicates us with the first contact.
He held you tight as he guided the kiss, his hand finding the back of your neck and the other pressing on your lower back.
Your hands grabbed the collar of his shirt and you nibbled on his lower lip, your emotions still mixed and mismatched inside of you. When you did that, his hand on your back went under your shirt, pinching you. Your mouth dragged on his jaw, then under his ear as he moaned with your love bites. He used his hand on your neck to tilt your head, reciprocating the gesture on your neck.
“Gosh, you’re so difficult...”you moaned in his arms, indicating this push-and-pull game you two were playing. He looked at you with a smirk. “I may be difficult, but you don’t like it easy”he said, before throwing you on the sofa and showing you exactly what you were getting into.
