Dream(Joshua x Reader)

Chapter 1: Unexpected visit at the Lonely Island

My hands were hurting, and so did my back. I was harvesting the food that we would eat for dinner. We lived in a tiny island in South Korea. I don't think others know so much about this island, because we never get visit. Mister Choi's son Chae moved out of the island to the city life. He visited us once, telling us that the city people know us as the Lonely island.

As I slowly stood up, a familiar voice echoed through the field filled with green vegetables.

"Oh (Y/N), you still working? You are so young, yet helping so much! Just take a break, there is food inside."

A smile formed my lips when I saw the familiar person. It was Miss Lee, the lady who is selling chicken on this island.

I bowed to thank her, and went inside the gathering house.

"Oh there you are (Y/N)!" an old familiar voice rang when I walked inside the house.

"Grandma" I smiled and sat beside her.

"My dear (Y/N), you are working so hard, yet you are so young! Just 18 years old!" My grandmother praised me.

"Nono, I am living on this island too, I have to help out."

My grandma smiled as she served me some soup.
"It's your favorite today, seaweed soup."
"Thank you Grandma!" I hugged her as I tasted the soup.

"It's delicious as always!" I smiled and the other elder ladies started to giggle.

"It's nice to have youth in this island" the old miss Lee laughed.
"Speaking of youth, Chae send me a letter and told me that some people from the city Seoul is visiting our island!" Mr. Choi spoke happily.
"Visit huh? It would be nice if our (Y/N) could get some friends around her age!" Miss Kim, who get our fish, commented.

"But I am happy to be here!" I smiled and started to hum a happy tone.

Being together with the people on this island makes me so happy.

"Did anyone say happy!" a strong voice was yelled outside of the house.
The old ladies started to laugh, knowing who it was.
"Are you all ready to sing!" the man yelled.

"Oh? Kang Jae has a new tune for us?" My grandma commented with a smile.
"You bet! Hey (Y/N), join my performance, won't ya?" he smiled.
"Always a pleasure to join" I smiled as I stood up.
I walked towards the empty space, beside Mr.Kang.

"Our Kang never fails on his songs, yet he is so old!" one of the ladies from the farming market commented.

"Hey! I am only 40!" Mr. Kang commented as he started to play his guitar.
Mr.Kang started to play some good chords, but when he started to sing, it was awful. And his lyrics is all random, which makes it funnier.

As the tune started to fill the room, my body began to move. As I began to dance, I could feel the happiness in this room. Living everyday with the people I love, on the island I love, was just the best.

Mr.Kang's tune slowly faded away as I ended my dance. Everyone started to clap for us as we took a bow. Tired, I walked to my seat again.
"You always dance so good (Y/N)" one of the farmer ladies complemented me.

"Well thank you" I bowed to her.

"She is just like a princess from the heaven" My grandma smiled.
"But grandma, isn't that an angel?" I asked, tilting my head.
"You are more like our Island's gem" Mr.Kang smiled to me.

I gave him a smile back as the people started to discuss.
They ended up that I was the gem of this island, which made me incredible happy.
They care so much that I am their gem.
Days went past. As we were again, working on the island, Miss Kim ran towards us, waving her hands in the air.

"People! We get visit!!"
Right behind her, Mr.Choi ran. "Chae is back too!!!"
Everyone started to run down to the seashore, expect me.

"Why won't you check it out too (Y/N)?" My grandma asked.
"I still haven't done my work for today. Beside, they are going to be on this island a while right? I have plenty of time then." I answered, started to work again
"But Chae is back too" grandma insisted.
"Mr.Choi is probably busy with him now, I say hi to him later." I smiled at my grandma , hinting that she could go.
"Okay, don't work too hard now" she waved as she walked away from the field.
I smiled at myself, shaking my head.
"What kind of people are visiting us?" I asked myself as I worked in the field.
My legs stopped moving as I crouched down to one of the plants.
"What kind of people are coming from across the sea? Aren't they scared?" I asked the plant, which answered me with silence.

I smiled at my stupid idea and continued my working.
