Body of Art

1

Hanbi took a deep breath as she looked into Chiyun's pleading eyes, a smile on the other girls face.
"I really hate to ask you, but you're the only other person that I believe would actually show up and do amazing. Plus you're getting a total of 30,000 Won per hour. You can fill in right?"
"O-of course!" She said quickly.
"Really? That's amazing. Okay so you'll need to be in room 834 in the art building in around an hour. I'll call the professor and let her know that you'll be my stand in. Thank you so much for doing this, I'll buy you ramen this weekend to make up for it!"
With that the Philosophy major turned and sprinted back towards the library.
Hanbi let out a large sigh, how did she always manage to get herself tangled up in messes like this?
She didn't mind helping out Chiyun, she was a sweet person and she was always helpful when Hanbi was in need...But being a model for a painting class wasn't exactly what she had in mind.

Jimin let out a sigh and he dug through his bag looking for his pens and watercolor pallets. They're were supposed to be models, a sense of unease washed over him. He knew that Chiyun was supposed to be one of the models and he was sincerely hoping they would be fully dressed. He wasn't sure how he would live with the fact he knew exactly what his best-friend's girlfriend looked like naked if it wasn't clothed. He almost shuddered at the thought of having to make eye contact with her in their dorm while she was sitting in Tae's lap. That thought was enough to almost make him put away his pallets and tell the professor that he couldn't stay for class.
"Good afternoon class! Today is a special day! We'll be working with models! Don't worry, you won't be looking at anyone naked...yet. Since today is the introduction to Watercolor and the Human Anatomy; our models will be wearing SOME clothes."
Jimin let out a large sigh of relief, he would still be able to have a conversation with Chiyun after this class.

Hanbi shifted uncomfortably as she looked around the changing room of the art room, there were three other girls in there with her. All of them looked like they were athletic, slender and taller than she was. Their perfectly maintained, styled hair swept over their shoulders.
The professor walked into the changing room with a smile on her lips.
"Okay, if you'd like there are robes here. You can grab one as you follow me out."
As they passed by them, Hanbi quickly snatched a silk robe that was covered in pastel toned flowers. She felt a breath she didn't know she was holding in escape her.

Jimin looked up searching for Chiyun, he saw a smaller girl walk out behind several of the volleyball girls. He figured that was his roommates girlfriend, but once they were all in clear view he realized that Chiyun wasn't even there. His eyes fell on the shortest girl on the end, she was slender but small. Her face had soft rounded edges, her long ashy-brown hair falling over her collarbones. She was the only one wearing a robe over her underwear. Her gaze was fixed on the ground.
"Here are your lovely female models, I'll got get the men."
The professor turned around and quickly bustled into the other changing room for the male models.
Jimin couldn't seem to pull his gaze away from the seemingly shy girl on the end. Something about her really drew him in.
"Okay! Now that we're all out here! We're going to have our models mill around and I want you each to sorta pick one and sketch them out with the pens on the watercolor paper."

Hanbi felt incredibly conscious of her figure and what she was wearing, she hadn't put much thought into the fact that she was wearing a very sheer bralette type of bra. Her underwear were highwaisted peachy toned panties. Her hands tugged ever so slightly on the edge of her robe's sleeve. She slowly wandered through the isles of easels.
She happened past a young man; his black hair parted down the center, he wore a white t-shirt that was slightly loose and a simple silver choker-like chain around his throat. His legs clad in ripped up black jeans. He looked up at her and offered her a sweet looking smile.
"I don't mean to steal you from everyone else, but could you maybe stay around here?"
His voice was soft and sweet sounding, like cashmere and honey.
"I-um. Sure." She whispered.
He smiled wider and turned his eyes back to the paper in front of him.
Hanbi shifted slightly, uneasy due to all the people who were looking at her.
Something about this boy's soft expression and handsome face set her slightly at ease.

Jimin let his eyes wander over her figure, she looked delicate and sweet. Her large eyes looking over at him, her lips stained red. He carefully drew out her figure, her upper body was delicately rounded like her face was. Her hips were fuller than her upper body would have lead you to believe. Her legs seemed well toned. She was an all over small person, she looked like a delicate flower.
She was living artwork.
He didn't mean to stare.
He snapped his eyes away and back to his paper.
"What's your name?" He asked quietly, hoping she would look less awkward.
"Ryo Hanbi. Yours?" She asked, a slight smile lighting up her beautiful face.
"Park Jimin, what's your major?"
"A-anthropology. You're an art major?"
"Yep, anthropology seems really interesting. You probably know a friend of mine then, Shin Hoseok? Buff guy, silvery blond hair, way softer than he seems like he would be."
"Ah, Wonho-oppa." She said with a look of understanding.

The hour and a half quickly drew to an end, Jimin smiled at Hanbi once more. He was hoping to catch her and talk to her before she left.
She turned to head back to the changing rooms.
"W-wait. I-um..." He trailed off, and finally regained his tongue, "I wanted to know if you wanted to get some coffee or something? A-after you've changed of course."
He mentally cursed himself for not being the suave and flirtatious Park Jimin he usually was. There was something about her sweet looking face that made him stumble.
"Oh, um...Sure. That sounds great." She offered him a smile and turned to go change.
He felt himself getting giddy, he didn't know much about her but he really hoped to learn more.

Hanbi felt her face heat up more and more as she changed clothes.
"Did you see the boy with the choker, he was super hot. Jimin! The Prince of the Track Team. That's who it was, he's so beautiful."
"I know right? I wish he'd been painting me."
There were a few pointed gazes on her.
Hanbi buttoned her shirt faster, she began to have second thoughts about getting coffee with Jimin. She really didn't want to be hated by anyone because of who she'd been painted by.
She finally finished getting dressed and hurriedly grabbed her backpack, she walked back into the class room to see Jimin leaned against one of the tables waiting for her. He smiled over at her, she felt her chest tighten ever so slightly.
"Ready?"
"I-Uhh. L-e..Yeah let's go."
He chuckled, his laugh sweet sounding just like his voice.

Jimin led her into the coffee shop on campus, a young man stood behind the counter with a serious expression.
"JB-hyung! Has it been busy?" Jimin questioned with a soft smile.
"Not crazy, but it's been very normal even a little slow. When are you coming in tonight?"
"Oh I'm not, Soyi-noona is. She'll be coming in at like 6."
"Okay. What can I get you...and this young lady?"
"Hanbi-ssi?" Jimin turned to look at her.
"Go ahead, I'll get mine."
"N-No, I've got it. I asked you to come with me."
Her face got even warmer.
"I'll have an iced hazelnut latte."
"I'll have the same thing, both larges please." Jimin added after she ordered.
The boy named JB typed them into the computer and took Jimin's card.
"They'll be out in a few."

Jimin swallowed the lump in his throat, he was feeling rather shy for the situation. She was stunning and so quiet. He wracked his brain to think of something to say to her and finally stumbled out
"D-o you play any sports?"
"M-me?" She looked up at him, her cheeks pink.
"Mmhm." He nodded.
"Oh, not anymore. I used to be on the swim team in high school. We made it to nationals my last year."
He nodded again, THAT was the type of body she had. One of a swimmer.
"Why'd you stop?"
"Well, I don't really have the....body or time for it anymore."
"You still have to body." He blurted out before he realized what he was saying.
"I-eh?" She looked down, her already pink face going dark red all the way up to her ears.
"Sorry, that was really forward of me." He mumbled trying to rectify the situation.
"I-its alright, thank you." She said, still looking at the table top.
A throat cleared behind him, his head snapped around to see JB standing there with a slight grin on his face.
"Two iced lattes. Enjoy."

Hanbi couldn't believe that he was complimenting her.
Trying to stifle her embarrassment she looked past his shoulder before speaking.
"You're on the track team right?"
"Yeah! I'm in the 300m race. I also do long jump, but not nearly as well." He chuckled.
She smiled slightly, he really could have asked any straight girl on campus to coffee and they would have fallen head over heels at the chance. Why bother with her?
"What does an anthropology major do?" He questioned, the question coming out so softly she almost hadn't heard him.
"I'm studying the old ways of the Korean Culture in comparison to the way Maoist China was. During the large reformation into what we consider Maoist China-" She cut herself off, what she was studying was boring, he wouldn't want to listen to her talk for half an hour about pottery, "N-never mind. This is really boring." She laughed.

Jimin felt his heart drop, she thought she was boring him?
"No! Not at all. I'm interested."
She chuckled and shook her head before speaking again, "What's it like being an art major?"
"It's always interesting, you learn all these types of art that you didn't think existed."
She smiled and nodded.
"Do you know Chiyun?"
"Ne. She's a friend of mine, she asked if I could fill in for her. She had a large project that surprised her so she couldn't make it to the art class."
"If I'm honest, I'm glad it was you instead of her."
"Nonsense, Chiyun-ssi is beautiful."
"Yes, but she's also dating my roommate. Seeing her half naked is something I don't think I would be able to live down."
Hanbi nodded with a slight smile.

The coffee finally finished without much of a problem, as they both stood up to leave Jimin paused.
"C-could I get your number?"
"S-sure." She mumbled, her cheeks pink again.
She passed him her phone and he put his number into it quickly, as he finished he passed her his phone and motioned for her to do the same.
They stood in front of each other, not really making eye contact. Both of their faces slightly pink. The golden sunlight of the early-spring fell through the windows as the sun set. She bowed as she took her leave, Jimin bowed back quickly and waved slightly as she left. He let out a sigh and sat back down for a moment at the table they'd been at.
"You got her number?" JB smirked at him from behind the counter.
"Ne." Jimin smiled.

Hanbi looked at her phone, Chiyun was wondering if she was going to go back and model for the class again. The more that the anthropology major thought about it, the less she wanted to be ostracized for being drawn and painted by the Park Jimin.
| I don't think I'll be going back, I'm sorry. Classes and such.
| That's okay. I don't think they'll pay too much mind to it.
She smiled slightly in relief, she had enjoyed meeting and talking to Jimin for a short period of time. She hated to admit it but she was really relieved that he hadn't messaged her.
She smiled slightly to herself as she reopened her book on Maoist China.

"Now that we've covered the introduction to anatomy, we'll be doing a full fledged project. Our wonderful models will be completely nude, please do not disrespect them they are here on their own free will."
There were a few snickers from the freshmen who were in the class, but no one really said much of anything.

Jimin set down his pallet as he searched for Hanbi in the room, she didn't appear to be anywhere. A few girls stood in front of him posing.
He quickly stood up and made his way through the girls crowded around his easel to find his professor.
She stood near the front watching over everyone.
"Sunbae-nim?"
"Ne, Jimin?" She looked over at him with a slight smile.
"I-I was wondering if Ryo Hanbi would be back as a model?"
"I don't believe that she signed up for this session."
His heart dropped.
"Is there anyway I could have her be my model for the project?"
"Well, if she's willing to do it."
"Okay, thank you. If I don't get her I will use one of the models."
"Wonderful, you can go and find her."

Jimin packed all of his supplies away and made his way to the door, only to be stopped by a girl who tilted her head.
"Jimin-oppa? Leaving already?"
"Hm? Yes, I have to go find my model."
"I'd be happy to model for you."
"I-I already have one in mind, I'm sorry. Thank you for volunteering your time." He quickly bowed and exited the room.
He wandered the quad, not really sure where to look to find her. He'd wanted to text her ever since they'd gotten coffee but wasn't sure what to say to her. Unable to think of a place to start he made his way to his dorm.

Jimin opened the door to his room to find that Taehyung had Chiyun over. The pair sat side-by-side on Tae's bed; Chiyun reading a very thick looking book, Taehyung on his laptop.
The girl looked up from her textbook, her eyes wide in surprise at the quick closing door.
"Chiyunnie, you're friends with Hanbi. Right?"
"Ne? Why?"
"W-well, she was a model for my art class and she was the person I wanted to use for my project. But she isn't modeling anymore."
"But what am I supposed to do here?"
"Maybe you could talk to her and have her like, message me, or something."
"You mean you don't have her number?"
"I-I do, but it would be weird for me to message her out of the blue about this..." He trailed off looking down at his feet.
"It would be weirder for me to ask her to message you. You should just ask her, I'm sure it'll be painless." Chiyun commented.
"W-what would I even say?"

| Hello! I was wondering if you maybe wanted to get dinner tonight, if you're free?
He finally pressed the send button and set his phone down on his bed so he didn't fret over it.
"I didn't think you'd ever actually like anyone." Taehyung commented looking up from his laptop.
"What are you talking about?"
"Well, I mean it's pretty clear that you like her. You aren't the type to get all worked up about texting a girl."
Jimin's phone buzzed beside him, he glanced down to see that Hanbi had responded.
| Sure, meet at 8:00 at the station next to campus?
He sat up a little straighter and decided he should find something nicer to wear.
"She reply?" Tae snickered.
"H-hm? Yeah, she and I are going to get food."
"Have fun on your date." Chiyun commented grinning.
"It-it's not a date." Jimin grumbled as he went to his closet to find something.

Hanbi glanced down at her phone it was already 7:15, she needed to hurry and find something to wear. She turned and dug through her closet, finally she settled on a skirt with a button up and a sweater over it. She pulled her hair into a rather messy high ponytail with a cream colored scrunchie and pulled on her shoes. She looked at her roommates bed, which was empty like always. She was off on a study abroad in the US with her Global Economics major, so Hanbi had the room to herself for the rest of the year. She walked into the bathroom and began to put on a bit of makeup to make herself look less dead. She settled for a liptint and some eye shadow.

Jimin looked down at his phone as he got into the station, it was 7:50. He'd decided to come early that way she wasn't waiting for him alone as the sun was going down. He'd settled on a pair of black jeans and a light blue button up, he'd dug through his clothes and finally found his pair of low cut Docs. He ran his hand through his hair as he waited. He leaned against the cool tiles of the wall outside of the station. People passed by him, most on their phones. Some were parents with their children and others were students whom he knew around campus. He could hear a pair of rushed footsteps, he looked up to see Hanbi running towards the station. She looked amazing, not that it was to surprising. Her long hair pulled into a high pony hair, her curtain bangs parted down the middle allowing a perfect view of her face. She stopped running and walked closer to him.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to keep you waiting!" She bowed deeply.
"No, you're fine. I came early so you wouldn't be waiting alone."

Hanbi felt her face heat up, he really was a prince. He bowed to her and gestured for them to go into the station.
"Did you have anywhere in particular that you wanted to eat?" He asked, the smile on his face causing his eyes to shrink to little half-moons.
"Whatever you'd prefer." She smiled slightly.
"I found a really good barbecue place in Gangnam, if that sounds good?"
"Sure." She nodded her head slightly and followed him towards the train towards Gangnam.

The ride was silent as it usually was, Jimin sat beside her as they road towards their destination. His black hair was mused but still put together, his shirts top two buttons were undone. The overhead lights of the train washing him in a strange light, the yellow tinged light reflecting off his pale skin. The train finally stopped in Gangnam, Jimin stood up and offered her is hand. His face a pink tone.
She carefully took his hand and followed him off of the train.
"It's a little bit of a walk but I think it's really worth it." Jimin laughed lightly.
"Okay." She mumbled, her cheeks pink as she followed beside him.

Jimin swallowed the lump in his throat as he looked at Hanbi across the table from him.
"So, I was wondering if I could talk to you about art?"
"H-Hm? Sure?" She looked up from her plate, the surprise evident on her face.
"Well, I sorta picked you as a model. We started a project and-um, well you aren't modeling anymore and I already sorta had an idea for the project. I understand if your modeling days are over, but I um-" he cut himself off, too nervous to continue.
"Y-You want to paint me?" She blinked at him.
"Yeah." He whispered looking away.
"I-I mean if you want to, but there are a lot of other beautiful women in the art class." She laughed to herself slightly.
"You're perfect." He blurted out.
Her face went a darker shade of pink, her ears tinged scarlet.
"When did you want to start?" She asked after a moment of silence.
"Tomorrow? Whenever is best for you really."
"Okay, how about tomorrow evening?"
"Sounds wonderful, is there a place you'd be more comfortable modeling in?"
"W-well, my dormmate is on a study abroad until the end of the term. We could use my room, it has a lot of natural lighting as well."
"Amazing." He smiled.
