You discovered your independence in an unstable society.
Yoongi has always been like a fish which swam with the current.
He simply didn´t want to stand out, didn´t want people to think that he was weird.
Because that is what societies nowadays are always on the hunt for: the weird person; either because they are admirable for them or they are somehow using them to compensate their own insecurities.
To cover up their fears.
This could be the fear of failure, the fear to not be accepted in society or the fear to not fulfill today´s requirements.
Yoongi was filled with this fear too; filled up to brim, threatening to spill over.
And at one point everything flew over…
People were too much to bear at that point and he just snapped, yelling and shocking everyone with this outburst.
No one is used to individuals wanting to escape the routine of everyday life, they don´t understand how this thoroughly planned days and years could seem like a dystopia to them.
But to Yoongi it was, the regimen everyone seemed to have was extremely mind-numbing and he was weary of it.
He started acting different doing what he wanted, developing his own character, testing his strengths and weaknesses.
He was harming no one by doing that, by finding his own way but everyone acted like he did, insulting him for being different.
But he didn´t care, it was hard for him to hear remarks at everything he did, but that didn´t stop him from finding his path.
It helped him to sort out which people were supporting him and which were stabbing his back; who was air and who was poison to him.
He discovered his independence in an unstable society characterized by standards and idleness.
It was hard for him but he knew that he would always have that independence, detached from the stability or instability of the society and that thought was all he needed to feel confirmed in his path.
