Jimin’s POV

Maranda woke up early to go out with the girls so that gave me time to discuss the birthday plans with everyone. It was Sunday so that gave me another day to figure out a backup gift.
We all are sitting in the living room discussing our options.

“Ok I’m going to do breakfast then since V is doing lunch.” Jin says looking through cook books. “And I got her a picture frame and put a picture of you two in it.”

“I got the cat figurine and I’m going to take her to lunch at El Tango’s.” V tells us. “Who wants before and after lunch?”

“I’ll do before lunch.” J-Hope says. “I got her the new Big Bang album.”

“I can do after lunch then.” Rap Mon says. “I got a few new shirts and jeans.”

“I’ll do after lunch too.” Kookie says. “I went with a bear plushy.”

“I guess that means I’ll do before lunch too.” Suga says huffing he was going to have to get up early. “I got her new speakers for her room. The other ones were starting to go out.”

“Jimin are you just doing dinner at the fancy Italian place?” Jin asked me.

“Well I wanted to ask you guys if you were ok with something I wanted to get her.” I say nervously.

“What is it?” Jin asked confused as to why I was asking permission.

“I wanted to get her a dog.”

“A dog? Are you guys there yet?” Jin asks surprised.

“I think so. And this way she isn’t at the house by herself all the time now. And she is missing home. I think it could help her.”

“As long as you know it is your responsibility.” Jin says with approval. “Any objections?” The guys all shook their heads. “Ok then it’s decided. When are you giving it to her?”

“After dinner. V will you watch it while we’re gone? And I’ll text you when we are on our way home so you can put it in our room.”

“Works for me.” He says sitting back in the chair. “When are you going to get it? And not let her find out?”

“When Suga and J-Hope do their stuff before lunch I’ll go get one and then sneak it in while you guys are gone.”

“I’ll go with you.” Jin says. “I’ll be done with my stuff by then.”

“Alright team! Project Puppy is a go!” Kookie says excitedly.

“NO!” Suga yells at him. “No more damn code names and missions!”

“What? You want me to slip?” He says laughing at him.

Tuesday finally arrived I waited next to Maranda in bed for her to wake up. I see her start to stir and rub her eyes awake. I lean down kissing her forehead. “Good morning Nae Salang.” (My Love)

She looks up at me kissing me while wrapping her arms around my neck. “Good morning.”

“Happy Birthday.” I say smiling down at her.

“Thank you!” She says kissing me again.

“You better get up. Jin has a surprise for you waiting in the kitchen.”

I don’t think I have ever seen her jump up that fast running out of the room. I started laughing then follow her into the kitchen.

“Jin! You shouldn’t have.” She says seeing her favorite breakfast, waffles with peanut butter, and a present wrapped next to it.

“You better eat it before it gets cold.” Jin says laughing at her.

She sits down taking a bite before opening the box. She pulls out the silver picture frame looking at the photo. She looks up at Jin with tears growing in her eyes.

“Jin. This is so sweet.” She says walking over hugging him. She then turns to me. “Jimin when did we take this picture?” She asks showing it to me. I didn’t recognize it either.

“I took it when you guys weren’t looking.” Jin confesses. “You both just looked so cute sitting on the couch I couldn’t help myself.”

“Thank you.” She then turns to leave the room. “I’m gonna go put this on the desk in your room.” She says walking out.

“Ready when you are.” He whispers to me.

“Let her finish breakfast then J-Hope will come in.” I say back.

She then walks back into the kitchen finishing her waffles. Right on cue walks in J-Hope.
“Maranda Sunshine!” He says skipping in giving her a hug. “I got you this.” He hands her the gift bag to which she ripped right into.

“Yah! Big Bang!” She leaned over giving him a huge hug.

“Let’s go dance!” He says dragging her to the practice room.

“Now we go!” I say quickly grabbing my jacket being followed by Jin.

We pull up to the pet store looking through all the different puppies. I didn’t know what kind to get but I was thinking more of a big dog.

“This litter is cute.” Jin says looking at some Bichon puppies. “They’re so fluffy!” He says picking one up that starts licking his face.

“I don’t think I want a small dog though.” I say laughing at his reaction to the puppy.

“Smaller dog smaller mess.” He says looking at me. “And so fluffy!” He says in a childlike voice putting it in my face.

“I want something that is going to protect her though too.” I say laughing at the puppy licking my face.

“Ugh! Fine!” He says putting the puppy back with his litter mates.

We continue looking at the puppies when I see some that are cute. “What about these?”

“A Rottweiler? Now you’re just being crazy on the protection thing.” He says objecting. “No one is going to bother her again. He is gone.” Jin puts his hand on my shoulder reassuringly.

We keep looking. “What about a German Shepherd?” I ask looking at Jin. “She used to have a mix of one. She loved that thing. It followed her everywhere.”

“They’re so cute!” He bends down picking one up. “And he’s fluffy!” He says in the child voice again.

“Jin, I’m starting to think I brought J-Hope with me.” I say laughing at his enthusiasm.

“Just look at his squishy face!” He says holding him up to me.

I take the puppy and it goes straight to my face licking me. “He is cute.” I say laughing at it. “Ok let’s go with him.” I say carrying him to the other side of the store to pick out supplies.

We fit him with a red collar and find everything else we needed. Bowl, bed, kennel, etcetera. We headed back out to the car when V text me saying they were on their way to lunch.

Maranda’s POV

Tae and I headed to the restaurant for lunch. I was so happy everyone was helping me celebrate my birthday. I was starting to get a little sad about not being home for it but they made me feel better. I loved the speakers Suga got me. They sounded awesome.

“Tae where did Jimin run off to anyway?” I ask as we are seated by the host.

“You will find out later.” He says smiling at me.

“You’re no help.” I say crossing my arms.

“Hey I am not ruining the surprise.” He says laughing. “Here is mine by the way.” He hands me a small box from his coat pocket.

I open it up revealing the figurine. “Oh my God! Tae are these real?”

“Yep.” He says proudly. “Do you like it?”

“You spent way too much I know it.”

“That’s not what I asked you.” He says sternly.

“I love it. Thank you.” I say smiling at him. The waiter comes over taking our order and bringing our drinks. “So, tell me. What’s going on with Hyosonn?” I ask him smiling.

He gets a pink look to his face. “We text and stuff but I don’t know. It’s weird.”

“What do you mean?”

“I have known her for so long and I had no idea she was interested in me. And I found out something about her that I’m not sure about.”

“Well what did you find out?” I ask concerned.

“I guess she was sleeping with her dance partner Yeongjin. I’m just worried she might just be interested in me for the publicity.”

“I don’t think she is.” I reassured him. “She talks about you a lot! And she is always blushing. If she wanted to do anything like that I think she would have by now. And as for Yeongjin.” I say taking a drink of my soda. “I guess a lot of dancers sleep with their partners so all the
awkwardness is out of the way when they have to do certain kinds of dancing. And you get so close with that person and have to put so much trust in them. Personally I wouldn’t ever do it but I don’t think it is a problem.”

He then busts up laughing.

“What?” I ask confused.

“You did do it!” He says laughing harder.

“What?” I ask even more confused now.

“Jimin! You slept with your dance partner!”

I reach over swatting him on the shoulder. “That doesn’t count. We are in a relationship.” I say laughing now.

“Still counts!”

“Well then see! It isn’t a big deal. Call Hyosonn and actually ask her out.”

“I will. I’ll call her tonight.” He says giving up knowing I’m right.

The waiter brings us our food. We finish quickly so we can head back to the house when Tae realized what time it was. He paid the bill and we left.

We get back to the house and I am instantly greeted by Kookie holding out a gift bag.
“I got you this.”

I laugh at his nervousness. Sure he could pick on me but when it came to gifts he was still awkward about it. I take the bag from him opening it pulling out the brown bear plushy. “Aww. It’s so cute! Thanks Kookie.” I walk over giving him a hug. “You know you don’t have to be so nervous right?” I ask him teasing about his awkwardness.

“Well I wasn’t sure how to do this.” He says laughing and scratching his head.

“And here is mine.” Rap Mon says coming up behind us with a rather large box.

“What is it?” I ask surprised by the size.

“Open it!” He says handing it to me.

I open the top of the box seeing shirts. “Clothes!” I say excited sitting on the floor to pull everything out. I examined each article closely before setting them down. “Thanks Rap Mon.” I say smiling up at him.

“I’m glad you like them.” He says laughing. I go put my clothes away in my room and start picking out what I was going to wear tonight. I couldn’t decide on anything so I went to find Tae.

“Alright!” I say cornering him in the hallway. “You don’t have to tell me where I am going but I need to know what to wear.” I say pointing my finger at him. “Dress or pants?”

“Dress.” He says nervously.

“Sexy or casual?”

“Both.” He says nodding his head.

“Heals or flats?”

“Players choice.”

“Thank you!” I then turn back around going back into my room. I decided on a knee length black dress that hugged my chest but was loose on the bottom with my white open sweater. I fixed my makeup and straightened my hair while I thought over shoes. I pulled out five different pairs trying all of them on when I finally decided on my white heals.

I hear the guys whispering on the other side of the door but I couldn’t make out what they were actually saying. I open the door to walk out and I see Jimin standing there wearing black slacks with a white button down shirt and black tie with his leather jacket.

“You ready?” He asks me handing me the rose in his hand.

“Of course.” I say taking his arm.

We get to the restaurant which was packed. Jimin had made reservations for us so we were seated right away. Jimin pulls my chair out for me as I sit down. He seemed nervous tonight and I had no idea why.

“Jimin?” I ask him as he is messing with his tie. “Are you ok? You seem really nervous.”

“Yeah.” He squeaks out. He then clears his throat. “I’m ok.” He then gets an even more nervous smile on his face. “Did you decide what you want?” He asks looking at his menu.

“Yeah. I figured it out.” I say laughing.

The waiter comes over getting our drink orders and bringing us bread sticks. Jimin starts picking at one not really eating it.

“Oppa! What’s wrong?” I asked him trying not to laugh. “You are so fidgety tonight.”

He covers his face hiding his smile. “I’m nervous about your gift.” He admits.

“What do you mean?” I ask confused.

“I thought we were ready for this but then I realized it isn’t something we have talked about so I don’t know how you are going to react to it.”

“Oh my God.” I say thinking I know what he is talking about. “Jimin. I love you. I do you know that. But please tell me that if we order dessert there is not going to be a ring in the cake. Because I don’t think I’m ready for that. It has only been about six months and-“

He then cuts me off. “No! No, no, no.” He starts laughing now realizing how he sounded. “It’s nothing like that.” He continues laughing from my outburst. “It is a big step though that I took without talking to you first.” He admits.

“I’m sure I will love it.” I say taking his hand that was sitting on the table.

The waiter comes back over to get our food order. We each tell him what we want before he runs off to the kitchen.

“They are really busy tonight.” I say looking around. I then notice all the looks we are getting.

“Jimin. Is it just me or are people staring?” I ask him.

He looks around the room noticing. “Huh. I guess they are.” He then looks back at me. “It’s because of how beautiful you look.” He says smiling.

I roll my eyes at him glad his confidence was coming back. We started talking about nothing as we ate dinner. The bill came after about an hour. I figured I better behave tonight and not object to him paying. I couldn’t help but glance at it though.

“Don’t get any ideas.” He says to me when he notices me look.

“I’m behaving.” I tell him looking away. “But you are spending too much.” I then look away joking.

“You’re worth it.” He says smiling at me.

He pays and we start to go back to the house. “So do I get my gift now?” I ask as we are walking to the bus stop.

“It’s waiting for you at home.” He says taking my hand in his.

We get back to the house. He puts a blind fold on me and leads me to his bed room. I hear him shut the door then walk across the room. “Jimin can I look yet?”

“Almost.” He says walking back over to me. “Ok now.”

I lift off the blindfold seeing him standing there holding a puppy with a red bow on it. “Oh my God! Jimin!” I say taking it from his hands. “He is so cute!” He starts licking my face causing me to laugh. I look over seeing Jimin smiling brightly at me.

“So I take it as you like him.” He says petting his ear.

“Jimin I love him.” I lean up kissing him. “And I love you.”

He kisses me again. “I love you too. Happy birthday.” He then looks down at the puppy. “So what are you going to name him?”

“Begae.” I say proudly.

“You’re naming the dog Pillow?” He asks laughing.
