Forget About Her
Chapter Seventeen
{Author’s POV}
SoonHee quickly walks to the college classroom the next morning.
She didn't get much of a good sleep last night, but she definitely wasn't going to skip class just because of a little less sleep.
She walks through the amphitheater when she stops suddenly, hearing her name being called in the distance. She turns around slowly to see MinAh jogging towards her.
"Hey SoonHee!" The healthy looking girl says with a grin. SoonHee's eyes widen as she continues to stare at the smiling girl.
She looks perfectly healthy, no longer the sick girl she saw yesterday.
"How are-"
"It's called makeup and a bright smile", MinAh says while cutting off SoonHee. SoonHee continues to stare at MinAh's healthy glow.
"Want to walk to class together?" MinAh asks and SoonHee raises her eye brow.
"Do you have music-"
"No, but my class is near yours", MinAh says, cutting off SoonHee once again.
SoonHee nods and just when they're about to walk towards the classrooms, a familiar voice shrieks both of their names.
"SoonHee! MinAh! Wait up!" Jungkook says as he jogs towards them. SoonHee grimaces and looks away from Jungkooks smiling face as he finally stands next to them.
"Where have you been MinAh?! I've been so worried", Jungkook says and MinAh smiles.
"Sorry, but I've been out with my family so they wouldn't let me go anywhere. They even took my phone away", she says as SoonHee continues to look towards the ground.
Should she tell him? She told MinAh she wouldn't, but the guilt of keeping this secret from Jungkook is slowly eating away her insides.
She feels as if she's somehow tricking the poor boy. She doesn't like to do this to him... But then again....
SoonHee turns around while still staring at the ground and starts to walk away from the two as fast as she can.
If she were to stay there any longer, she might have just told Jungkook right then and there.
"SoonHee", she hears as she feels a hand grab her wrist. She slowly turns to see Jungkook, glaring at her as if she's done something horribly wrong.
"What?" She asks him as she tries to remove Jungkook's hand, but his grip on her wrist tightens.
"Why don't we talk as much anymore?! Why do I feel like you're always running from me?! Why-"
"BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO BE NEAR YOU", SoonHee yells, interrupting Jungkooks sentence. She immediately regrets yelling at the poor boy and brings her other hand to her mouth to cover it.
"Is that how you really feel?" Jungkook says in a hurt voice and SoonHee quickly glances at MinAh.
She really wants to say no and take it all back, but she can't.
She wants MinAh to be with Jungkook as long as possible.
"Yes. Let go", SoonHee says with a roll of her eyes.
She hates this. She hates having to push him away because now every time she looks at him, she feels the guilt.
The guilt of not telling Jungkook what's bound to happen to MinAh anytime soon.
SoonHee glances at MinAh once again to see her hunched over and breathing heavy as she clutches the front of her shirt.
"MinAh?" SoonHee says as she pushes Jungkook away and runs toward the girl who now is standing up right, trying to control her breathing.
"Of course... If you excuse me real quick I need to go to the bathroom", she quickly says and sprints away.
SoonHee turns around to see Jungkook already walking off to class.
"Jungkook... I'm sorry", SoonHee mutters and turns back towards the direction MinAh has sprinted.
SoonHee runs as fast as she can until she reaches the bathroom that MinAh has ran through. She walks in without a second thought when she hears vomiting in one of the stalls.
"MinAh?!" SoonHee yells as she knocks on the stall door.
"I'm fine!-" MinAh says but stops when her vomiting continues once again.
SoonHee crawls underneath the locked door and pulls MinAh's hair back as she dry heaves into the toilet.
"Feel better?" SoonHee asks the obviously sick girl as she rubs circles on her back to comfort her.
"Y-Yea", she answers as she backs away from the toilet and slouches against the stall.
"Oh my gosh.. MinAh you look-"
"Sick? Yea I know", she says in a shaky voice. She continues to control her breathing as they both sit their, in silence.
"Can you help me stand up?" MinAh asks her and she immediately nods. SoonHee stands up and extends her hand towards the sick and frail looking girl.
Once SoonHee has helped her stand up, she walks MinAh over to the mirror of the bathroom.
"Thank you", MinAh mutters as she takes a glance at her own reflection. She grimaces and looks away while biting her bottom lip. She leaves and picks up her bag from the bathroom entrance.
"Want me to carry it?" SoonHee asks and MinAh shakes her head.
"It's okay, I got it", she says with a small smile. MinAh straightens her back and walks out of the bathroom as if nothing has happened.
"MinAh.. I don't think you can keep going on like this", SoonHee says and MinAh stops walking. She turns around and gives SoonHee a glare.
"I can keep going if I tell my body to keep going. I'm strong! I know I can keep going on!!!", she says and SoonHee is taken aback by her words.
"MinAh... Please listen to reason.. You should be resting.. You can't keep putting your body through this... Just tell Jungkook-"
"No!!! And you can't tell Jungkook either SoonHee!!" MinAh yells.
"But every time I'm with Jungkook, I feel like-"
"Then don't be near him!!" MinAh yells and cuts off SoonHee from her words. MinAh's eyes widen and she shakes her head.
"Wait SoonHee I didn't mean... I'm sorry it's just-"
"No, it's okay", SoonHee says as she cuts off MinAh's words. "I was already doing that in the first place", SoonHee says as she turns around and walks towards the music class, silently hoping that the professor is late.
