Forget About Her

{Author's POV}

"You... Have cancer?" SoonHee says with a shocked and broken voice. MinAh nods hesitantly as she tries to open up the snack.

"Want me to help?" SoonHee asks her and she shakes her head furiously.

"I can do this myself", she says as her hands continue to shake from trying to open the plastic bag. She continues to struggle as she sticks her tongue out playfully. All of a sudden, she starts to slowly laugh.

"W-what are you laughing at?" SoonHee asks her and MinAh shakes her head.

"I'm laughing at how pathetic I've become", she says as she stares at the plastic.

"You're not pathetic MinAh, it's not your fault that..." SoonHee says and starts to trail off. MinAhh shakes her head and says, "I know, but I just wish my body was strong enough..."

"Wait... How bad is your, um... Cancer? What kind of cancer is it?" SoonHee asks her and she bites her bottom lip.

"Stage C liver cancer", she says as she tries to open her bag in frustration.

"Stage C?" SoonHee asks to have MinAh explain.

"Stage C is advanced... In both stage C and D of cancer, there's no hope of survival basically... The cancer has already spread from my liver to the other parts of my body.." She says as her voice cracks a little.

"I'm having the doctors numb me with pain meds and etc so that way I can go back to college and spend some time with Jungkook before I..." She says and trails off as her eyes start to water.

SoonHee covers her mouth with her hands as she tries to hold in her tears. MinAh continues to try and open the bag and finally throws it across the room.

"This isn't fair!" She screams as she stands up from her chair while clutching the IV pole tightly.

SoonHee immediately stands up from her chair and hugs MinAh tightly.

They both stand there, shocked for a couple seconds, but MinAh can no longer hold in her tears as she clutches SoonHee close to her.

"I don't want to die yet..." MinAh cries and SoonHee hugs her tightly to comfort her.

There's nothing SoonHee can think of to say to comfort the poor girl. All she can do is hug her and give her support.

MinAh slightly pushes away and says, "you can't tell Jungkook about this", she practically begs and SoonHee's eyes widen in shock.

"What do you mean?! He has to know-"

"Please SoonHee, he can't know what's going to happen to me. If he ever asks when I pass away, just tell him that I've moved away with my family", she says cutting her off while still begging SoonHee.

"I'm sorry... I think I have to tell him. If I don't then-"

"No SoonHee please do this for me", she says as she bows deeply. SoonHee can't help but bite her lip in worry.

So many things can go wrong if she doesn't tell Jungkook...

"Please SoonHee.. This is my last dying wish from you", she says and SoonHee sighs.

"Okay, I won't say anything to him", she says and immediately feels guilt starting to creep through.

"Thank you SoonHee, you're a good friend", MinAh says and hugs her close. SoonHee freezes from the words and can't help but tear up as she hugs her back.

At this point, SoonHee has realized that MinAh will most likely pass away...

And again, there's nothing she can do to help her...

"Please MinAh, there has to be something the doctors can do", SoonHee says as she hugs the frail girl tightly. The pale girl shakes her head and says, "the doctors said that there's nothing else that they can do for me. All we can do now is wait..."

MinAh breaks the hug and walks over to the other side of the room to pick up the plastic bag that she threw earlier. She bends down slowly and picks it up. She walks towards SoonHee while looking at the ground and says, "can you open this for me please?" She extends her hand that's holding the bag towards SoonHee and she carefully takes it from her shaking hands.

"Of course", SoonHee says to MinAh. SoonHee 'struggles' to open the bag and MinAh starts to chuckle slightly at the sight.

"Aish this bag is hard to open..." SoonHee says and tries to open the bag once again while MinAh continues to laugh. SoonHee secretly opens the bag a tad bit to loosen it and hands it to MinAh.

"I can't open it. You try", she says and MinAh looks down at the bag in worry, not noticing the tiny rip. She once again tries to open the bag, and it finally opens.

"I did it!" She exclaims with a smile. SoonHee smiles at MinAh's cheerful attitude and sighs in content.

"So this is why Jungkook fell for her..", SoonHee mutters as MinAh happily takes a snack from the bag and puts it in her mouth.
