Forget About Her

{Author's pov}

A worried SoonHee and a serious Jimin finally make it to the hospital. They walk through the entrance and automatically walk through the doors to get to the hallway.

They've been to the hospital so many times, they no longer need confirmation to see the still sleeping mother.

They finally make it to the room with heavy hearts.

"You alright SoonHee?" Jimin asks her and she nods her head.

"Yea I'm fine", she says smiling as she opens the door. She looks towards the hospital bed to see her mom, still sleeping. SoonHee sighs and walks towards the side of her moms bed. She takes her mothers hand and grasps it tightly as she stares at her mothers now healed but pale face.

"Hey mom, it's me... I'm back to visit you again. Did you miss me?" SoonHee says to her still mother.

No response.

"I know you can't answer back, but I just want to let you know that it's still hard, but I've tried my best to stay positive about everything. Dads doing okay. He's still going to work as usual..." SoonHee says and trails off.

"Jungkook is doing okay too. I still don't really talk to him that much anymore, but he's doing just fine without me", she says and there's still no response from her mother.

"SoonHee?" Jimin says and she glances towards him.

"Did you want something to drink? I can get it for you from the vending machine", Jimin says as he's about to leave the room.

"Oh um, no that's okay. I can get it myself. You stay with mom for a bit? Maybe you can give her some encouraging words", SoonHee says as she walks towards the door. Jimin hesitates but nods in agreement. She gives him one last smile and leaves the room quickly. Once she has closed the door, she heaves a sigh of relief.

She's relieved that she was able to leave right now, because if not, she would've probably started to tear up.

And she really doesn't want to cry anymore.

She walks down the hallway and makes her way towards the vending machine area. She walks in seeing a girls back turned towards her, standing in front of a vending machine while holding an IV pole next to her. She notices the girls pale and shaky hands press the buttons on the vending machine. The item falls down into the compartment below and the girl bends down to try and pick it up.

"Need help?" SoonHee asks and the girl shakes her head quickly.

"N-No, I want to do it myself", the girl says and SoonHee can't help but hear that similar voice from somewhere…

"MinAh?" SoonHee says with wide eyes and the girl slowly turns around, scanning her eyes on SoonHee's.

"MinAh?! What are you doing here?!" SoonHee practically yells and MinAh shushes her.

"I um..." MinAh says and starts to trail off as she looks to the side.

"I'm kind of... Sick", she says and turns around to grab the snack. She starts to bend down and finally picks up the snack with a satisfactory grin; proud of getting the snack on her own.

"What do you mean you're sick? What's wrong?" SoonHee asks in a worried tone as she tries to peer at MinAh's face. MinAh fully turns around and glances at her as SoonHee's eyes widen in shock.

The pale girls' cheeks look sunken in and her skin has turned a sickly pale. Her eyes look as if they could close at any minute and she's breathing heavy.

"MinAh... What happened to you?" SoonHee says as she sits down on one of the seats that are provided in the vending machine room.

"You're sick? What do you mean?" SoonHee continues to ask her questions as MinAh stares blankly at the table. Once SoonHee has stopped her rambling, MinAh finally looks up at her and gives her a weak smile to try and lighten the situation.

"I.. Have cancer."
