Forget About Her

"SoonHee, wake up!" Jungkook says as he shakes the her shoulders. She continues to scream Jungkook's name in her sleep as tears roll down her face.

"Hey! SoonHee I'm right here!!", Jungkook says as he hugs her tight. Her eyes snap open as she realizes that it was all a dream.

"Jungkook!" She yells as she cries into his chest out of fear. She wraps her arms around his middle as she continues to mutter, "don't leave me Jungkook. Don't leave me alone."

"I promise I won't SoonHee, I'm right here. Don't worry", Jungkook says with concern and a hint of confusion as he rubs her back to comfort her.

She continues to cry as she remembers the nightmare that she had just dreamt. She slightly pushes Jungkook away to look at his face.

"My mom didn't pass away, did she?" SoonHee asks as she hiccups and tears continue to slide down her cheeks.

"No no she isn't. She's still in surgery", Jungkook says as he gently wipes her tears with his thumb.

"Thank god.." SoonHee mutters as she rests her forehead on his shoulder.

"Are you okay? Did you have a really bad nightmare?" Jungkook asks with concern.

He really wants to make sure that SoonHee is okay. He cares about her after all…

"Yea... Really scary... I dreamt that you left me and that my mom past away", SoonHee says with a shaky voice. She straightens up in her seat and rubs her cheeks to get rid of the stray tears.

"I'm okay now, thanks", SoonHee says with a small smile as she sniffles and continues to sit on the chair.

She's trying to smile, just to at least brighten the situation. To try and be that cheerful SoonHee she once was.

After some silence between the two, Jungkook finally speaks up.

"I'm sure your mom is going to make it past the surgery", Jungkook says to SoonHee as he rubs her back to comfort her.

She nods as she continues to rub her hands together. Her hands were starting to feel numb from how cold the hospital was.

The hospital doors finally open and SoonHee looks up to see the doctor, who she assumes is the one who performed the surgery on her mother, walks in with a worried expression.

Her heart skips a beat as she sees him walk to the woman at the desk. She points towards Jungkook and SoonHee and the doctor quickly advances to them.

"Are you Ms. Jeong's daughter?" The doctor asks her and she nods her head swiftly.

"The surgery was successful.." The doctors says and SoonHee immediately stands up.

"She's okay?!" She yells in relief and everyone in the waiting room glances towards them.

The doctor hesitates as Jungkook stands up from his seat.

"Why the hesitation?" Jungkook asks the doctor and the doctor ignores him.

"It's possible that... She could slip into a coma if she doesn't wake up soon.." The doctor says and it's as if SoonHee's world has stopped.

"W-What do you mean in a coma?... Why can't you just wake her up?!" SoonHee starts to yell in a panic and the doctor tries to calm her down.

"I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do. All we can do is wait... You can see her if you want", the doctor says and Jungkook places a hand on SoonHee's shoulder.

The doctor tells both SoonHee and Jungkook the information to get to her mothers room. She nods and listens intently at his instructions.

"Thank you", she says once he's finished talking. She leaves and starts to make her way towards her mothers room with Jungkook following behind her.

She hopes, practically begs the big guy in the sky that her mother doesn't look as bad as she imagined.

She finally makes it to her mothers hospital room and immediately opens the door. She takes a quick intake of breathe as she stares at her mothers swollen yet withered form.

"M-Mom", she mutters as she runs to her side. She tries to hold in her tears as she grasps her mothers hand tightly.

"At least your mom is alive and breathing", Jungkook says as he places his hand on her shoulder.

"That's true, but..." SoonHee says and starts to trail off as she glances at the bruises, scrapes, and cuts that are scattered throughout the older woman's fragile body.

"No buts SoonHee, she will wake up and she will be better soon" Jungkook says with sincerity. He pats SoonHee's head and immediately stops when the door opens.

"SoonHee! Is your mom okay?" SoonHee's father (well step-father) asks as he runs over to the mothers' side.

"She might be in a coma..." SoonHee says and starts to trail off.
