Sweet Revenge

~ Haru's POV~
"Haru!" my dad exclaimed as he came into the house followed by my mom. I ran towards them and gave them a hug.
"You're finally back!" I said cheerfully and snuggled into my dad's chest.
"It's your birthday tomorrow. Of course we'll come home earlier today." mom said and smiled at me. I was really excited about what would happen tomorrow. I'm turning 10! I mean, I was glad that they came home earlier today and I'm not that lonely at home when I come back from school. I still have at the servants with me. My mom joined in the embrace. It was so nostalgic. The fragrance, the voices, the warmth...
"I can't wait until tomorrow!" I exclaimed and skipped to the dinning room after they broke the embrace. I had such a good time back then. I didn't realize what would happen the next day. The day that changed my life, completely.

Ring, Ring, Ring
My phone started to ring the next day after I got home from school.
"Yeboseyo" I said just as I picked up. After a few minutes, I dropped my phone, hearing the news that they announced to me. It was shocking to hear what happened. My parents...they're gone. How? Why? Why today out of all days? It's unfair. This is not fair at all! I screamed and hot tears started rolling down my cheeks.
"What happened Haru?" a maid barged into my room to check out the situation.
"Take. Me. To. The. Hospital." I demanded.
"Mind telling me what happened first?" she asked.
"I SAID TAKE ME TO THE HOSPITAL RIGHT NOW!!!!!" I shrieked. That shocked the maid and she immediately called up a car to take me there. What happened? It was a car accident. Involving my parents. The second I reached the hospital I ran to the counter. They just looked at me sadly when I told them about my parents.
"Sorry little girl. They're already gone. We arrived too late to save them." they told me. I was shocked. Really shocked. This is my birthday. Today is my birthday. Who was the one who took my parents lives away? I dropped to the ground and the colors that I saw turned black and white. I'm never going to see them again right??
"We found this in the rubble" the person said and held out a box and a package of random party supplies. "It's your birthday today isn't it?" The last thing he took out was a necklace. It was the necklace that I kept talking to my mom about. "Oh right I almost forgot." he held out a ring. Wait...isn't that my dad's ring? "I'm sorry for your loss." At that last sentence, I clutched the mementos and bursted into tears. The maid and the driver patted my back and tried comforting me. This moment would always be engraved into my heart.
