Hey Guys! So I reuploaded the story, here's the first chapter again. Not much has changed in this part. Thanks for reading! Enjoy!

"I don't think this is a good idea..."

"Come on, Akiko, what's the worst that could happen? A security guard coming and telling us to leave?"

I glanced nervously past my best friends, Nari and Ki, through a wrought iron fence that was covered in rust. Beyond the fence was an abandoned amusement park, rusting, rotting, and collapsing to the ground.

"I just don't understand why we're here in the middle of the night. Can't we come back in the morning, when it's not pitch black?" I asked, but Nari had already pulled out a flashlight.

"Oh, don't be such a pussy," She said, flicking it into my face as Ki began to climb the fence.

"Have you ever seen a horror movie?" I asked as she tucked the flashlight into her belt. "Bad things only happen in the dark! This is so dumb!"

"Everything will be fine," Ki said, and, with a thump, landed on the other side of the fence. "Come on."

As Nari followed Ki's lead, I stood behind the bars, anxiously chewing my lip and looking down the long, overgrown driveway. What if there were ghosts in here? What if we were caught trespassing? Would we go to jail?

I was snapped out of my thoughts by Ki calling my name. I looked up, and realized that they were both safely on the other side. "Come on, Akiko, you're going to get us caught," she hissed. My stomach lurched at the thought.

"I'm not good at climbing things!" I hissed back as I gabbed onto the fence and looked up. What if I touched some rust and got my hand infected? What if some broken-down ride fell on me?

Before I knew it, I was standing in the tall, brown grass on the other side of the fence with Nari and Ki. They grinned at each other, and Nari turned her flashlight on. "Come on," She said, and began to walk. I walked beside Ki, heart hammering in my ears. This was absolutely not my idea of having fun. Why couldn't we be at a party, or at home watching movies?

After a few minutes of walking, we came to an old merry-go-round. Its red and blue paint was peeling off the walls, and the many horses, all different colours, were cracked and falling off of their mounts.

"Whoa, look at this!" Ki whispered as she and Nari climbed up its rusty steps to touch the horses.

"Guys..." I warned, looking around anxiously. "Guys, I don't think we should touch the rides..."

"Akiko, it'll be okay. You've got to stop being such a worry wart." Nari said as she and Ki jumped back down onto the grass. "Come on, let's keep going."

We walked for a few more minutes, passing rusty teacups and a murky river ride. Eventually, Ki and Nari had found yet another ride that they wanted to explore. I sighed as I watched them run over to an old, run-down roller coaster.

I looked around me and saw, not too far away, something I hadn't noticed before. Carnival games such as ring toss and balloon pop stood, illuminated by a light I couldn't find the source of. The games were still in perfect shape; no matter how hard I looked, from this distance, I couldn't see any rust, or any hints that they were as old as the rest of the park.

"Hey, guys, look at this," I said, turning back to the roller coaster, but Nari and Ki were nowhere to be found. "Guys?" I called, biting my lip. Would I really have to go explore by myself to find them? "You guys, come back!" I yelled, but, when no voice came back in response, I took a deep breath and began walking towards the rusty yellow tracks. "Nari!" I called as I walked underneath the roller coaster. "Ki! Guys! Where are you?"

As it was the middle of the night, I could barely see a foot in front of me, so I had no idea where I was walking. I stepped on something large and round, and almost lost my balance as it rolled under my foot. I reached down to pick it up, and realized that it was Nari's flashlight. I frowned, flicking it on, and saw blood all over the handle. I gasped, almost dropping it, but, at that moment, I heard a croaking noise. I slowly looked up into the line of light, and saw her.

Nari was lying stomach down on the grass, holding her upper body up on one of her elbows. With her other arm, she reached towards me, making gasping, spluttering, and croaking noises. Her hands were covered in blood, along with her neck, which looked slit open. She looked at me with dead eyes, her mouth hanging open. I let out a piercing scream, taking a few steps back, and bumped into something hard. Before I could spin around to see what it was, there was an arm around my waist and a hand over my mouth.
