A Tutor

1/1

Haebin frowned as she looked through the text messages on her phone, she had received a lot of requests for tutoring. She had taken a few up on the request but quickly learned they didn't want HELP, they wanted her to do the work for them. She deleted a few threads, just as she was finishing clearing out the unsaved and unknown numbers a new message came in.

|Hello! My name is Kim Yugyeom, I'm an Applied Mathematics major...I decided I would try to
|branch out and take an Anthropology class. Usually I don't have issues, but this course has |really
|kicked my ass. If there is any way you could help me, I would repay you to the best of my |ability.

Yugyeom glanced down at his phone beside him on the sofa in his dorm. It was a message from the tutoring number that he had sent a text to.
|If you would like HELP I can meet you in the library around 2:30.
The freshman jumped off the couch, a grin on his face. He looked down at his phone to check the time. It was already 2:15. He quickly asked where in the library and went to get his textbooks together.
"Where are you going?" JB casually asked, looking up from his large philosophy book.
"I've got a tutor, hyung!"
"What are you struggling with?" The older of the two asked, his eyebrow arched.
"Anthropology."
"You know I'm a History major, right? I could help you."
Yugyeom didn't even reply as he quickly left the dorm he shared with his friend.

Haebin sat at the table she had told this Yugyeom to come to, it was quickly approaching 2:30. She would wait at most ten minutes past the set time, if he didn't show up she would leave. It was five minutes before half past. A tall, lanky, figure was quickly approaching her table. Finally she could register that it was a young man, he was extremely tall and fit. He was lugging a heavy looking book bag. He finally stopped before her table, he had sandy blond looking hair, and dark almond eyes. He offered her a lopsided smile.
"Annyeonghaseyo!"
"Annyeonghaseyo," Haebin replied quietly.
The young man grinned at her.
"Thank you for being willing to help me, I thought the course would be easier than it really is. I just need some insight. I'll pay you back, I promise."
"It's not a problem, so long as I'm not doing all the work for you I'm perfectly okay helping. You don't have to worry about the payment."

Time went on and Haebin helped Yugyeom more and more, she would bring small snacks to their tutoring sessions. Eventually they began to meet in her dorm room, she would fix him food and they would study while they ate. He would assist her in math and she would help in his anthropology course.

Haebin pushed her long, black hair out of her face as she tried to focus on her work. Yugyeom's voice startled her as she tried to concentration.
"Noona, JB-hyung would really like to meet you. He asked if you wanted to come to our dorm for dinner...possibly?"
"I would be honored."

Haebin looked at the door she stood before, room 239. She carefully reached out to knock. After a few raps the door was thrown open. A young man with messy looking dark brown hair stood before her, a large grin on his face.
"Yugyeom-ssi! That girl you mentioned is here!"
"YA! Bambam! Don't be rude. Let her in!" Another mans voice shouted from inside the dorm.
The young man who was apparently called Bambam moved to let the young history major inside.
She entered the dorm and saw a complete disarray of people thrown over the sofa and chairs in the living area. The dorm was one of the more expensive on campus, consisting of a common area between the two bedrooms.

The tall, lanky 18 year old bolted off the couch and greeted her.
"Noona! Sorry, I wasn't expecting everyone to come over."
A man with well kept black hair stood up, his ears studded with various piercings. He wore a button up, his glasses sitting near the end of his nose.
"I'm sorry for their loudness, my name is Jaebum. You can call me JB if you prefer. I wanted to give you my express thanks for helping Yugyeom."
There was a pause in all the noise that was put out by the other six men in the small living room.
"You're Yugyeom-ssi's tutor?!" The young man named Bambam shouted from the sofa where he was sprawled across one of the arms leaning on a rather built man with bleached out hair.
"N-ne." Haebin stuttered, overwhelmed with the people in the room.

Her eyes scanned the room. Seven men were sprawled in different positions about the room.
A man in a sweater sat on one of the chairs, his dark brown hair falling over the tops of his roundish wire framed glasses. In his hands was a small novel that had at least twenty post-it tabs sticking out of the top and sides.
Sat on the back of that chair was man with auburn hair, he wore a button up and a cardigan. He grinned at her.
Bambam was with the man with bleached out hair on the sofa, Yugyeom stood near the sofa, JB had just risen from the other chair.
Finally her eyes fell on a lean looking young man who was sitting on the arm of the chair JB had stood from. He wore a beanie over his silvery blond hair, a hoodie and a pair of black jeans made up his outfit. He looked the most at peace out of all of them but there was an air of excitement around of him.

"Really noona, I'm sorry. I didn't know they were ALL coming for dinner. We ordered some pizza but it may be a while before it gets here." Yugyeom said, he looked over the other men in the room. They were all watching the young woman with interest.
"Maknae! Introduce her, you're being so rude!" The rather built one with Bambam laughed, his voice carrying.
"Ah, Haebin-noona. These are my friends. You assholes, this is my favorite noona. She feeds me and helps me with my work."
The room went up into a roar. JB grabbed the youngest by his neck and pulled him down to his level.
"Where are your manners!" The older of the two shouted.

"Hi! I'm Kunpimook, but really people just call me Bambam."
"Ah, you're Thai?"
"Yea!" The young man grinned at her broadly.
As he moved back to the couch the man sitting with him stood up and walked forward.
"What's up? I'm Jackson Wang." He took her hand and pressed a kiss to the back of it. She felt her face flush.
The two men from the chair stood together and walked to her.
"Annyeonghaseyo, my name is Park Jinyoung. Thank you for taking wonderful care of our maknae. He really doesn't deserve you."
The young man with the novel and glasses smiled sightly.
"Eolgan-i! I do!" Yugyeom shouted from the kitchenette area of the room.
"Annyeonghaseyo! I'm Choi Youngjae, it's wonderful to finally meet you!" The man with the cardigan grinned brightly, his eyes shrinking to small half moons.

Finally only one person in the room hadn't introduced themselves, the guy sitting on the arm of the couch smiled at her lazily.
Finally he rose, he made his way over to her. She swore she knew him from somewhere but she just couldn't figure out where.
"Annyeonghaseyo, I'm Mark. It's nice to put a face to the name."
She felt her face get warmer.
"It's very nice to meet you all." She finally managed to mumble.
"Noona! Don't be shy." Yugyeom grinned as he tossed a long arm around her shoulders, smiling at her slightly.
"Ya! Don't be so forward." Jinyoung scolded.

Haebin sat on the floor between the chairs, the pizza on the coffee table in front of them.
"Thank you for dinner," Haebin began.
"You're leaving already?" Bambam questioned, his eyes wide.
"I have an 8 A.M. lecture, I really can't miss it." She said, she dropped her gaze to the pizza boxes. "Really, thank you for dinner. I had a wonderful time. Yugyeom, let me know when you get your grade back. We can work from there. Have a good night."
She rose to her feet before anyone could really say anything in response. As she stood to leave, Mark rose to his feet as well.
"It's late, let me walk you."
"N-no! I'm okay, I have pepper spray. No worries!"
He was at the door as she tried to stutter out a defense.

They walked in quiet for a while, finally he spoke.
"I really would like to thank you for taking such good care of Yugyeom, he is an important young man to us. Your help with his course load and even feeding him has really made us worry less about him."
His deep voice filled her ears, she could hear every ounce of sincerity.
"I don't mind at all, I enjoy being able to help him. He helps me as well."
Mark let out a little chuckled. She casually glanced out of the corner of her eye and saw that he was looking at her.
"Here." Was all he said, he tugged his hoodie over his head and passed it to her. "It's chilly, and you're only in a t-shirt."
"Are you this nice to all girls you meet?"
"Well, usually all the girls I meet want to talk to me about sports. But you don't and that's cool."

"Sports?" She raised a brow.
They pair had paused on the quad as she pulled the hoodie over her head.
"Yeah, I'm a Pointguard on the Basketball team."
"Oh! You're Mark... Tuan."
"Yeah." He chuckled.
