Cheer Up!
Chapter One : Fueling the Fire
The shrill shriek of the bell echoed throughout the entire building. Multiple footsteps and chattering voices filled the hallways. Raebin, Eunmi and Chanri hurry their way up to the rooftop, their everyday usual lunch area, and are pleased to find the remaining members of Real King sprawled on the roof, waiting. Shizuko munched on a carrot stick, orange bits getting caught in her teeth. "Ugh, that's gross, Zuko," Sumi groaned, covering her eyes. Jeongguk laughed loudly, to which Sumi shoved rice in his mouth. Raebin plopped next to Shizuko and offered her the tiny vanity mirror she carried in her backpack. "Thank you," she muttered, picking at the stuck carrot skin between her front teeth. Eunmi and Sumi were having a battle of the rice cakes, stuffing multiple cakes in both their mouths. Sumi made the mistake of breathing in during chewing, causing rice to fly from her mouth and start choking fiercely. Jeongguk panicked and slapped her back, causing her to cry in pain despite the hacking. "Mianhe, Sumi," he said worriedly, gently tapping between her shoulderblades. Eunmi raised her arms, mouth stuffed, and muffledly shouting "I won! I beat Sumi!" After the mini-hackfest, Sumi's face beet red, she sent a death glare over to Eunmi, who proudly leaned over the roof railing still yelling about her triumph. The last member of Real King, Jaebum, ran through the halfway open door. He panted, bent over, and held up one finger to signal for the group to wait. "Baek....Ho.......coming......," was all he managed to say between pants. The entire club paled. Baek Ho is their number one rival. They think they are so high and mighty because of their top grades and good looks. But what they have in the smarts departments, Real King make up for in talents. They have won quite a few dance competitions and even gained a steady following on YouTube due to their originals or covers of famous songs. Baek Ho has always been out to get Real King, always searching for something that was useful to help bring the club down. That is why Real King hates them so much. Their members outnumber them by a few, but no one wanted to join their 'loser' dance club after a member of Baek Ho bad mouthed Eunmi all over school. "Jaebum? What do you mean Baek Ho are coming? How do they know we are here? This is our space. They can't just invade our privacy!" Shizuko raged, her cheeks dusting with pink and her eyes glazing with anger. Jeongguk paled and Eunmi and Sumi both choked yet again on their mouthfuls. Raebin glanced between Jaebum and the open door. Chanri, who'd been texting someone on and off, glanced up, her mouth open. Footsteps could be heard coming from somewhere in the stairwell. The members of Real King stood waiting.
"Yah! Real King! We need to speak with you. Now," A deep voice practically growled.
