EXO Undercover

Kyungsoo and Chanyeol sat under the large willow tree, a landmark in the school campus. To most, lunch was a time to connect with friends and catch up with all the pointless gossip. To these two boys, it was a time to relax from work. They let there legs stretch out onto the grass and their faces face the sun that seeped through the brittle leaves of winter.

"So, how was class so far?” Chanyeol was the first to speak up.

“Eh,” Kyungsoo replied, his eyes fluttered shut to rest his tired mind, “it was okay."

"Mine was rough, too. Hey, you know what happened to Taeyeon?"

"The housekeeper?"

"The one that Baekhyun liked. Dad and Mom fired her for some reason. She was so nice though."

"I’m sure we’ll find out why later."

"Anyway, we need a new maid. We don’t have time to clean up the house ourselves. When do you’ll think we’ll find one?"

“Soon.” As if on cue, a young girl walked up from behind the tree trunk. She clutched her school skirt nervously and, with her quiet voice, managed to say, “h-hello”.

“Hey there!” Chanyeol greeted back. He waved to her with his big hands and grinned.

“Do you need something?” Kyungsoo asked nonchalantly, his eyes still closed. He covered his mouth with his thick scarf, not wanting to continue the conversation any longer.

“I-I'm June and I’m available-”

“Okay, listen,” Chanyeol explained, “yes, I'm single. But that doesn’t mean I'm looking for a girlfriend. I’m sorry, but I'll have to reject-“

“I’m not looking for a boyfriend. I just n-need a job so-”

“Oh!" Chanyeol snapped his fingers, "Then you can be our new housekeeper then! Uh, did you eavesdrop on our conversation just now?”

“I was a-already here before you both came.”

A few hours later, the young girl found herself in a luxurious mansion, designed with a crisp modern look, surrounded by a lush forest. With a million dollar view of a calm pond and natural scenery, the house had posh interior and antique paintings that stood out from the marble cut walls. What a rich family, she wondered to herself as the sleek car drove around the fountain. The lavish living style was eye popping; it looked like the place was won from the lottery.

“This is our house!” Chanyeol waved his hands about and smiled, pleased to see how shocked she was. As they entered the main hall, a grand place with two staircases leading to the open floor above. He pointed to the hanging chandelier and continued to blabber on. “I hung on that once before I broke it.”

“Who is this?” Another boy appeared from one of the many bedrooms on the second floor, a small towel still around his shoulders. His wet hair reflected the bright light as he peered down to the three people on the first floor. This house is full of flower boys, she thought.

“Suho! She’s our new maid! Hopefully!” Chanyeol shouted. “Kyungsoo and I are showing her around the house first!”

“It’s just you.” Kyungsoo said. He walked up the broad steps that extended upstairs. Silently walking past Suho, he disappeared in what seemed to be in his designated bedroom. Chanyeol leaned into the girl and whispered, pointing to the room Kyungsoo went into, “he’s like that most of the time so don’t worry. He doesn't hate you. Kyungsoo is actually really- and when I mean really, I mean really- soft inside, like a marshmallow.”

He pulled her hand and continued to showcase their living quarters. After displaying the dining room and kitchen, which had a very long crystal dinner table, they entered another large room. An indoor swimming pool of at least 45 feet left June in awe. Lined up at the side of the pool were recliner chairs. Overlooking the pool on another floor was an exercise room with treadmills and weights. At one end, a tan boy swam back and forth.

“Yo, Kai!” Chanyeol yelled, “Where’s Sehun?"

“I don’t know!” Kai yelled back, still splashing around, “He’s probably on the phone with you-know-who!”

As the pair continued to make their way through the mansion, a white drone quickly whizzed above their heads.

“Sorry!” another boy exclaimed, running after it with a controller, “That’s mine!”

“Baek! Be careful! If you hit me with that thing, I’ll hit you!” Chanyeol threatened. He faced the girl, who seemed a bit shaken from the sudden flying robot, and patted her head. “Try to get used to it. We have a lot of gadgets to play with.”

“Who are you?” A couple, a bit older, walked in through the front doors. A lady, with large sunglasses and a sunhat, stood tall and pointed to the young girl. Beside her was a handsome man, her dedicated husband, with both of their luggage bags. “Is she your new girlfriend? I already explained to you boys not to bring anymore hookers-”

“No,” Chanyeol corrected her, “Mom, she’s going to be our new maid."

“Hello!” said the man, “Nice to meet you! You can call me Mr. Song. I’ll be your boss.”

“New maid? We need to interview her first,” the lady said. Using her pointer finger, she beckoned the girl to follow her. "Follow me.” As the two women made their way, the two men, one confused husband and one confused son, whispered to each other.

"How was the one-week vacation, Dad?"

“Better than I expected."

"What did you expect?"

"Nothing much. Anyway, Chan, you know how strict your mom is. You should have let your mom find a maid herself. What’s the girl's name?”

“Honestly, I don't remember. But she seems trustworthy.”

“Where did you find her? I bet you walked right up to her and asked her."

"She’s from our school, so I doubt she’s undercover.”

“How would you know if it wasn’t a setup though? It would be a miracle if your mom didn’t kill her. She already knows our location.” At the sudden realisation, the two men ran to the office room. As they bursted through the door, Chanyeol screamed, “Don’t kill her yet!”

“Relax, boys, I’m just interviewing her.” Ms. Song faced the confused girl and said, “You start work tomorrow. Get home safely, June.” At that comment, the young girl bowed and walked out, avoiding eye contact with the ’strange’ two men. Once she was clear out of sight, Ms. Song faced Chanyeol.

“Surprisingly, she’s a good choice. You did a good job, Channie. The doorway found no signs of weapons or gadget gear whatsoever but,” she showed to the laptop that laid on her desk, and pointed to his body examination, "why do you have a booklet hidden in your shirt?” Oh, right, Chanyeol thought to himself, this dang doorway can see through me. I gotta protect my photos! If mom saw my porn magazine, she would burn it!

“Uh, that is school business you don’t need to know about!” Chanyeol ran out of the office, leaving the couple behind.

Mr. Song sighed. “Honey, we thought you were going to shoot her dead!”

“I was! But the doorway scanner didn’t detect anything. If she quits, then I’ll kill her.”

“Honey! Well, I thought you would be strict like usual with more severe punishments.”

“We’ll see how well she works. I’m sure she’ll have an impact on the boys. Maybe they’ll be interested in cleaning up for once.”

“Don’t mind me asking, but why did you let her work here if you just met her?”

“She answered my questioned well. I asked her why she wanted to work here and she said she needed money for her father. By the way, she doesn’t even know what an AK-47 is.”

"You asked her that?"

"No, but, considering how innocent she is, I don't even need to ask."

“This is going to be interesting. I like her.” Just then, a loud yell came from the main hall, which was soon followed by several other yells.

“Let’s go check out what the boys are doing."
