Forgotten Memories

Roses, Seashells, and News

I got my phone and keys. "I'm going to the craft store, do you guys need me to get anything while I'm out?" I asked. Both of them looked at me and shook their heads. "I'll be back in an hour." I said while opening the door.
"Be careful." My mother said. I hummed in response then walked out the door. After locking the door, I stood there waiting for my Uber driver to come pick me up. While I was waiting for my Uber, I heard my phone ringing. I took it out of my pocket. The ringing came from KakaoTalk. KakaoTalk was ringing because someone was trying to video chat with me. It's Yoonoh. I clicked on the answer button while smiling. Once I saw Yoonoh's face on the screen, I waved hello. He smiled then waved hello back.
"It's so boring without you. I don't know what to do." He said while pouting slightly. My smile widened. I looked up and saw my Uber driver driving towards my house. "Are you going somewhere?" He asked. I looked at my phone.
"I'm going to the craft store to get some stuff so I can decorate some picture frames." I said. The Uber driver stopped in front of me.
"Am I bothering you?" Yoonoh asked. I got in the car and put my seatbelt on. I looked at him and shook my head. "Can you take me to the craft store with you? I have nothing to do anyway." He said.
"Of course, you can help me pick out which seashells to get." I said while smiling.
"Why do you need picture frames for?" Yoonoh asked.
"So, I can frame some pictures of us for my new desk." I said.
"You got a new desk? When?" He asked. Oh, I forgot to tell him.
"Yoonoh, I have something to tell you." I said.
"I'm listening." He said while smiling.
"I found out that I'm moving back to China next week on Wednesday." I said then smiled slightly.
"That's great! We can visit each other without having to sit on the plane for over twelve hours." He said while smiling widely. I nodded my head while still smiling. The Uber driver stopped in front of the craft store. I thanked the driver and got out of the car. "Which pictures are you going to frame?" He asked.
"The one we took when we first met and the one we took when you came over to my house for the first time." I said while smiling.
"Only two pictures of us?" He asked. I nodded my head. I then walked over to the back. "What are you trying to make?" Yoonoh asked.
"One picture frame is going to be with seashells and the other picture frame is going to be with two roses wrapping around the frame, something like that." I said. Yoonoh nodded his head. Yoonoh laid his head down with his phone in front of him. I could tell that he was tired.
"Baby, if you're tired, you can end the call and go to sleep. You don't have to keep video chatting with me." I said.
"But I don't want to." He said while pouting, making me smile. "I'm not even tired." He said.
"If you say so." I said while looking at the starfishes. I got two packets of starfishes, I only needed one but I just don't know which one would be better. "Hey, Yoonoh, which one would you think would be better." I said then looked at Yoonoh.
I smiled once I saw Yoonoh's angelic face. "Sleep well, Yoonoh." I said while smiling and ended the call. I placed my phone back into my pocket and looked at the two packets of starfishes. I picked the one that I think would look the best. Then I looked for the seashells. I heard my phone ringing again. I took out my phone and looked at who it was. Why is he calling me again? I clicked on the answer button.
"Why did you end the call?" Yoonoh asked. I tilted my head slightly.
"I thought you were sleeping." I said.
"I wasn't sleeping, I was just enjoying your voice." He asked while smiling.
"With your eyes closed?" I asked then raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, with my eyes closed." He said.
"Go to sleep, I know you're tired. You stayed up late last night with me." I said.
"I don't want to sleep, I want to talk to you." He said in a whiny tone.
"Baby, go to sleep." I said.
"No." Yoonoh said while pouting.
"I'm going to end the call." I said.
"No, don't end the call." Yoonoh said.
"Bye, Yoonoh." I said.
"No, don't you dare end this ca-" Before he could finish his sentence, I already ended the call. I continued to look at the seashells. I heard my phone ringing again. I looked at the KakaoTalk ID. I sighed then hit the answer button. I took in a deep breath.
"Baby," I said somewhat quietly. He hummed in response. "Go to sleep!" I shouted, getting the attention from a shopper. I looked at that lady and said sorry with a smile. I looked at Yoonoh again. "Seriously, baby, go to sleep." I said.
"I don't want to." He said while pouting, again.
"It's funny how you're older than me by exactly one year and yet, I'm the one who's babying you." I said.
"That's because you love me." He said while smiling widely. I sure do.
"You don't deserve my love." I said. Yoonoh looked so offended when I said that.
"I see how this is, you don't love me anymore." He said. I smiled slightly.
"Yoonoh, go to sleep, I know you're tired." I said.
"Fine, I'll call you later then." He said. I smiled. He waved goodbye then ended the call. I placed my phone back into my pocket and continued to look for the things that I needed. After getting the seashells, starfish, marbles, a metal rod, two metal roses, and two different color spray, I paid for them and was now waiting for my Uber driver to come pick me up. While I was in the Uber driver I was checking to see if I had everything that I needed. Once the Uber driver stopped in front of my house, I thanked him and went into my house
"I'm back." I said while taking off my shoes.
"What did you buy?" My mother asked while walking over to me.
"I got some seashells, starfishes, marbles, and some other stuff that are made out of metal." I said then handed her the bag for her to look through it.
"Why do you need them for?" She asked.
"Decorating two picture frames for my desk." I said My mother hummed in response while nodding his head. She then handed me the bag. "I'll be outside if you need me." I said while walking over to the backyard. I set the bag down then went into my room to get the rest of the things. After getting the two frames and my glitter pens, I went back into the backyard.
"Where's the blowtorch?" I asked.
"In the garage." My father said.
"Are the pliers there too?" I asked then looked at my dad. He nodded his head so I made my way into the garage. Once I got the blowtorch and the pliers, I was on my way back to the backyard.
"Be careful when you're using the blowtorch!" My father shouted.
"Okay!" I shouted, even though they are just a couple feet away from me, then closed the door. I turned on some music then got some gloves, goggles, and a mask. After putting them on, I opened one of the metallic spray paint and got out one of the frames. I placed the frame on some newspaper so it wouldn't get the table dirty. After spraying one side of the frame, I set it aside to let it dry while I paint the two metal roses. Then I finished painting the other side of the frame. While those were drying, I decided to work on the other picture frame. The frame was already baby blue so I didn't have to paint it. I plug the hot glue gun in and set it aside to let it heat up while I was arranging the starfish and seashells. I was about to glue the last seashell to the bottom corner when the music stopped and something popped up on my phone. I smiled slightly then hit the answer button.
"Hey, baby, how did you sleep?" I asked while I continued to work on that one frame.
"Good, I guess." He said. I looked up at him and he looked really sleepy.
"Did you even sleep?" I asked. He was silent for a couple seconds.
"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't." He said.
"So, you didn't?" I asked then placed the hot glue gun down.
"No, I tried to but I couldn't." He asked.
"Why not?" I asked. He shrugged his shoulders.
"I don't know." He said. I got my glitter pen and tried my best to make a perfect squiggle on the top and on the bottom of the frame. "Am I bothering you?" He asked. I shook my head while smiling.
"I was just listening to music while I was working on this, I rather talk to you than listen to music." I said then held up the picture frame. "Is it good?" I asked. He said while nodded his head.
"It's great." He said.
"I'm going to put the picture of us when we first met." I said.
"Cause we met on the beach?" He asked. I nodded my head while smiling. While I was working on the other frame, we were talking like we would as if we were together in person. The call ended when I found out that Yoonoh fell asleep while I was printing the pictures out. Once the pictures were printed, I framed them and placed the two picture frames on my desk, for now. I smiled then took a picture and sent it to Yoonoh.
Do you like it?
