Hard Work

Latte

Jae Kokyung straightened her bow tie and left the back room of the cafe into the lounge area where the costumers were waiting for assistance. She was the only girl on shift which made her a bit weary, but most of the people in the cafe were elderly people just waiting for a cup of tea.

"Excuse me, miss?" A voice called out as Jae passed through the cafe taking a baked good to one of the elderly gentlemen.
"Yes?" She turned to see the young man looking up at her, he had a friendly smile on his face.
"I was wondering if I could order a latte?"
"Of course sir, it will just be a moment."
"Oh, thank you." He said.
She finished her previous mission and turned on her heel to go put in his latte.
The machine bubbled away quietly as it brewed the coffee that was to go into the latte the young man had ordered.

Min Yoon-gi glanced up to see the server girl again, she had been the first thing he noticed when he walked in. It was hard to miss her. Her long pastel rainbow hair was pulled into a high ponytail, her straight across bangs brushing the bridge of her nose. Her outfit was far less interesting, she was dressed just like the other workers in the cafe. She wore a white button up tucked into a black skirt, over her shirt she wore a grey vest and a black bow tie. She was pale, her skin almost transparent looking.

She was stood next to the machine waiting for his coffee to finish brewing so she could mix it. He looked back to his notebook, he had keywords that he wanted to work with scratched down. A shadow crossed his paper, he looked up to see the girl standing before him.

Jae looked at the guy who had ordered the coffee again, he had messy black hair. He was pale, when he looked up to offer her a smile she noticed his features were well defined. His slightly chubby cheeks lifting as the corners of his mouth did as well.
"Thanks." He commented before taking a sip of his coffee.
"Of course." She said with a bow of her head, she turned and walked behind the counter to wait until she noticed something amiss with the crowd. It as quiet as usual; a pair of old men playing Go near the window next to the door, an elderly woman with a small quilting square, a couple of middle aged business people on their laptops, and the young man writing in the corner of the room.

Yoon-gi stood and began to put his things into his bag, he had noticed a text from Taehyung mentioning dance practice.
After he had packed his things away he pulled out his wallet and walked to the counter where the rainbow haired girl was standing. He glanced down at her name-tag; Jae Kokyung. She tilted her head and smiled at him politely.
"I hope everything was well."
"It was wonderful, thank you for your kind service." He said as he handed her the cash he owed her.
She took the cash with both hands and bowed her head in thanks.
"I hope to see you again." She said politely.
"Thank you." He turned and left the cafe.

Jae found herself hoping the young man would come back, she didn't know him. He certainly helped the atmosphere, he was rather attractive. Her shift was ending soon, from there she would go to classes at the academy. She finished serving her guests and turned to go the the back room to change.
She grabbed her bag and took out her sweater and leotard, leaving her pointe shoes in the bag with bow tie and vest.
She slipped her button-up shirt off her shoulders and tossed it into her dance bag along with most of the rest of her uniform. Yanking the skirt from her hips she left it on the top of the bag so she could slip it over her leotard. She pulled the piece of black cloth up her body and slipped the straps onto her shoulders. She already had her convertible tights on before work. She looked at herself in the mirror, she knew it would be easier to pull her hair up sooner rather than later. Thinking about it she pulled out her bobby-pins.

"Suga-hyung!" Jimin's voice filled the rappers ears as soon as he entered the practice room.
"Jimin." He greeted with a smile, the image of the girl in the cafe sticking with him.
"Where did you go?" The younger of the two asked.
"Hm? I went to a cafe to work on some lyric ideas."
"Cool." Was all the younger idol said before moving away to talk to J-Hope.
He wondered what she did, she was thin. Maybe she worked out a lot, maybe she even ran?
He shrugged and tuned in to what Hoseok was saying.

"Point your toes!" The harshly accented voice of her Russian instructor chided from the bar on the other side of the room.
"Yes."
Her lean leg straightened out farther and her toes pointed straight.
"Perfect, soon you'll be in the Korean Ballet. I feel it in my feet."
The translation was off, but Jae understood what she meant.
"Gamsa."
"In the next few weeks we will be assigning you to teach classes to different dancers, I hope to see you excel." Ms. Kuriyakin said.
A kind smile worked its way onto the older Russian woman's face. She had really become a motherly figure to Jae.

Setting her dance bag on the floor of her small one bedroom apartment, Jae could hear a rustling from the laundry room.
"Yao. What we talk about? You can't get into the food while I'm not home."
She stalked through the apartment to catch him red-handed. As she got to the doorway she saw her cat head first into the box of cat food.
"Yao!"
Startled the small Siamese jumped from his position and bolted out the door before she could catch him.
A small sigh left her lips, he was just too much at times.
As she walked back into the sitting room of her apartment she heard her phone start to go off in her bag. She rushed over to where the large black sports bag was sitting. Rifling through the contents she finally found her phone.
"Missed call from eomma." She mumbled, "Appa, you really need to use your own phone."

The beat of No More Dream coursed through the practice room, the synchronized steps causing a thump as they landed. Suga sigh as the song finally ended for the last time of the night, the 20 year fell to the floor in a pile of black cloth.
"Yoongi-hyung? That tired already?" Jungkook's voice laughed from above him.
"Yeah." Suga groaned as he sat up slowly.
"It's better than the choreo for N.O." Hoesok reasoned from the other side of the rapper.
"True, well I think I'm going back to the dorm and going to sleep."
"I agree." Nomjoon agreed.
The group of seven made their way from their practice room and back to the dormitory.

Notes

This is just after their debut, so that's why Yoongi is so young.
