Could It Be Love?

Ties Cut

Aera
“Ya! Aera, wake up!” Jungkook’s voice cuts through my dreams and I bolt upright, my forehead slamming into his. “Ah, aish. Why are you so startled?” He sits back, rubbing his head. Honestly, I’d been dreaming about him. “I just thought someone was jumping me. What’s up?” I slide off of my bed and my legs buckle, causing me to fall to the carpeted floor. I never got sore after work, why was this any different? “Are you okay?” He quickly gets up and pulls me to my feet, much to my pained groan. “What’s wrong, did you hurt yourself?” He asks and I force my legs to stand on their own, stepping away from my best friend. “I’m fine. What’s up? You came so early in the morning.” He glances at the clock guiltily. He knew that I usually woke up around noon. “I was hoping to go and uh, check out some new cafes.” Remembering what he’d said last night, my jaw hardens. “Oh, of course. I’m going to get changed.” He nods and I grab some clothes, going into the bathroom. Washing up, I dry my hair before going out to find him on the floor staring at his phone. “We going?” I ask, stuffing my wallet and phone into my bag. “Uh, yeah. Let’s go.” Jungkook quickly gets up and I put my shoes on, following him out of the house and down the street to the bus stop. “What’s up with your new found curiosity for cafes?” I ask, wanting him to tell me. “I just wanted to eat. I’m paying, so you can eat as much as you want to.” I pout. “Do you want me to get fat?” He stares at me, his mouth open. “Just kidding! Like hell I’d worry about gaining weight.” I grin and we get off at the stop for the first café. Going in, I can see his eyes combing the tables. His girlfriend probably had said something about being busy and he might’ve remembered the cafes that she liked to go to. He doesn’t find her and his eyes go to the menu. “Nah, not this place.” I’m dragged out and sigh. I wish he’d just tell me the truth. Not tell some mysterious escort about it and keep it from me. After three other cafés, we finally find her, sitting across from an older looking guy, kissing him. Jungkook is frozen as my eyes dart between him and her. Making sure Jungkook isn’t going to fall over in shock, I stride right to his girlfriend’s table and grab the water pitcher, dumping it on her. Starting to walk away a hand grabs my arm so hard that I wince. Spinning around, I see the guy staring at me with something between confusion and anger. Suddenly, Jungkook is next to me and he rips the guy’s hand from my arm. “It’s not her that you should grab. It's that girl sitting there, because she's been two-timing both of us.” He spits out and the girl is frozen in shock. “You can have her. If she’s just going to lie, I don’t want her.” Jungkook takes my hand, gently, and pulls me out to the street. “Are you okay? It looked like it hurt when he grabbed you.” He holds my arm up so his eyes can appraise my wrist. A circle of dark blue was already forming. “It’s okay.” I pull my arm away and watch him stare at me, his eyes worried. “I’m sorry for dragging you along on a trip to find out what my ex-girlfriend is up to. Do you want anything? Cake? Bubble tea?” “Bubble...tea?” I ask, looking at him hopefully. “Alright, I got it. Let’s go and get some.” Grinning, I dance around him and he laughs, despite the sadness in his eyes. Walking to one of the shops close by, I grab a table outside as he buys the tea. “One strawberry bubble tea.” Jungkook sits down and hands me the pink drink, sticking the straw in it. “Thank you!” I smile and take a couple of sips, sighing at the sour, but slightly sweet taste of strawberries. “Taste good?” He asks, looking over at me while sipping his own drink. “Mhm, want some?” I slide me drink across the table and grab his before he even says anything. Taking a sip, I blink at the taste. Instead of the usual blueberry, Jungkook had gotten watermelon. “How is it?” He asks, handing mine back. “Good.” My eyes follow a little girl and little boy running around on the sidewalk laughing, playing with water balloons. “I remember when that was us.” I sigh, listening to them argue about who got to throw first. “We’d run away from your older brother and hide in the closet, drawing. You’d always complain how it was dark, and then your brother would find us right away. Dragging us out like he was a monster and we were in trouble. He always ended up buying us ice cream.” I glance at Jungkook and see he’s staring at me. “I miss those days.” I sit back. It was more like I missed the days when I didn’t feel anything. “Aera.” I look over at him. “Did you get a boyfriend?” I blink. How did he even come up with that? “This morning when you were trying to stand up, I remembered that sometimes with my ex-girlfriend, if I went to hard one night, it’d be hard for her to stand in the morning.” I feel my cheeks flush. “I don’t have a boyfriend.” “Then where-“Jungkook cuts himself off and stares at me. I jump as a couple of water balloon hit my side, soaking my shorts and shirt. “Omo, eonnie, I’m so sorry!” The little girl runs over and whacks the little boys head as she runs past him. “I didn’t mean to, he ducked and it hit you. I’m sorry!” She starts panicking and I smile. “It’s fine. It’s okay.” She starts to cry and I quickly crouch down, wiping the tears away as they come. “Noona, I’m sorry.” The little boy says somberly and his eyes go to the crying girl, guilt on his face. “What’s your name?” I ask and she sniffles. “Jian. And this’ Minjoon.” “Okay, well tell you what. I’ll forgive you guys if you be careful from now on and make sure to not get hurt on the way home.” After a few seconds, he nods and takes her hand, pulling her away. Standing up, I yelp as Jungkook grabs my hand, dragging me after him. I quickly grab my bubble tea and I’m pulled into a clothing store. Barely having time to look around, I dress is thrust into my arms, the tea taken from my hands and I’m pushed into the changing room. Changing, I shed my pants and pull on the dress. It wasn’t a sexy one, cute more than anything else. “You done yet?” Jungkook asks but opens the door anyway. His eyes flick over me and he takes the wet clothes from me. “I’ve already payed, come on.” “Jungkook, ya. Wait up!” I stuff my feet back into my shoes and grab my bag. I grab Jungkook’s arm and my hand slides down to his. He grasps it and slows down a little. “Where are we going?” I ask. “The garden. I need you to help me take pictures for my portfolio that’s due tomorrow.”

@Vyan
THANK YOU, that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy because being told that I'm a great writer by someone that doesn't know me personally is the best feeling in the world. I'll update in a few minutes probably. Thank you for your support ^~^

Can't wait for the next update! This surely feels like I'm reading a scene from a movie, but really, you're such a great writer.
