Have We Met? [Sequel to A Deer and A Baozi]

Chapter 16

Sehun's POV

I met Eunjae at the south side of town, in a little run down tea shop, ran by some Japanese guy. I've only gone there once and it had been with her, I remember because it was one of our first dates. I paused at the door and looked around at the deserted parking lot, giving a thumbs up to Namsoon was waiting for me. I smiled under my breath and turned back towards the dark entrance of the teashop.

The door opened before I could even reach for the handle. Eunjae's bright eyes stared back at me, a small smile played on her lips as she recognized me and she stepped aside to let me in.
I didn't move.

"I don't want to drag this out." I said quickly pulling her out of the shop. "Let's get this over with."

She nodded and tucked her hair behind her ear with a swift motion. "I don't want to drag this out either."

Without another word, she took my hand and placed a cold circular object at the centre of my palm. I blinked, feeling it's textures, trying to understand what it was exactly that she had given me.

"A ring?"

She nodded, her eyes closing slightly in an almost regretful look. "Ling gave that to me."

Although it was warm out, a rush of cold air shot through my spine at the mention of her name. Ling?

I looked down at my hand and registered the intricated designs of the ring that I had given to her on our first meeting. It was dark around the edges from the gathering of dirt, yet it was clear that it had been well taken care off. Light scratches were on the interiors, proof that it was on a chain for quite some time. A chain around Ling's neck.

"Why would she give this to you? I gave this to Ling." I gripped the ring harder in my hand.

"She didn't want it anymore." She beamed at me. "She wanted me to tell you, that she has no thoughts of getting together with you."

My fist shook, the ring digging into my skin. I didn't want to believe those words, and yet there wasn't much I could say to convince myself otherwise. In my hand was her ring. She wouldn't give it up so easily if she remembered-

That's right, Ling is still trying to remember.

"Hunnie, it's about time that you let her go." Eunjae gripped my arm and looked at me with a face full of worry.

I shook my head. "That's not what you said when I agreed to date you. You said-"

"I know what I said." She cut in. "But it's different now, she's ruining who you are, she's taking you're-"

I lost it. Without a second to lose, I grabbed Eunjae by her shirt collar and brought her face up close to mine. "Don't you tell me what's good for me and what's not."

Surprisingly, tears started to form in the corners of her eyes. She sniffed loudly and placed a hand on my chest, smoothing out the wrinkles on my jacket front. "Look at you, look at how angry you've become."

I grit my teeth and let go of her, taking a shaking step back.

"I'm leaving." I muttered finally and turned on my heels. Namsoon was already out of the car and ready to go at any moment.

"Hunnie please!" Eunjae called out and grabbed the back of my jacket. "Can't we just try to make this work for a while longer?"

"Don't you see?" I turned in her direction. "It had never worked. This was all just a distraction and I see that now!"

Before she could say another word, I stormed into the black van and slammed the door shut.

Namsoon, who was in the driver's seat now, tossed me a frown. "You're just going to leave it like this?"

I nodded, not in the mood to say anymore. With a sigh, Namsoon moved the car out of it's parked position and pulled us out of the driveway. Yet even with the doors closed and the windows fully rolled up, I could hear the desperate screams of Eunjae's shrill voice.

"Ling will never return your feelings."

I took the ring out of my palm and examined it, letting my head bob with the bumps on the road.

"Don't listen to her Sehun," Namsoon said turning the steering wheel with a glance at the road. "Ling's bias had always been you."

I couldn't help but snicker slightly at his encouragement. "Thanks."

Though we both knew, there was some truth in Eunjae's words.

Xiumin's POV

The next morning, Ling was in the kitchen before I was. With my mind still on the unsigned contract in my room, I leaned on the counter towards Ling and tilted my head to one side.

"What are you doing?"

Ling jumped in surprise and turned to me. "Xiumin Oppa!"

I flushed, caught off guard by her sudden mention of oppa. I scratched the side of my cheek and smiled up at her. "Good morning."

She beamed at me and handed me a cup of coffee, which I took. "I tried, so if it doesn't taste good-"

Her voice drifted off as she saw me take a sip from the warm mug. Her eyes widened in anticipation and I couldn't help but smile.

"Bleh," I stuck out my tongue jokingly. It wasn't the best coffee I have ever tasted but, it was still drinkable.

Ling's mouth fell into a frown. "That bad huh?"

She stared down at the mugs of coffee that she had already poured for the members and let out a sigh.

"No," I said hurriedly, suddenly feeling guilty. "It's fine."

Me being the clumsy person I am, managed to let my coffee cup fall out of my hands, spilling the contents all over the counter. I let out a gasp of pain and quickly retracted my hand from the burning liquid. My eyes fell on the wasted coffee and suddenly my face burned hot with embarrassment. "I'm sor-"

Ling caught my hand faster than I could blink. Her delicate fingers held my hand in an urgent but patient manner. I bit my lip as her body moved closer to me with her head bent low over my hand. She blew light puffs of air on the surface and examined it closely.

"Are you alright?"

I nodded, and in the process, bumping my head against hers. Both of us double up in pain and wobbled back.

"S-sorry!" We said at the exact moment, locking our eyes.

Ling's face slowly turned crimson, as did mine. She grimaced slightly to show her discomfort and moved back around the counter.

"Y-you can take care of that hand yourself right?" She was looking away from me.

"Y-yeah," I uttered, feeling kind of disappointed that she wasn't offering to help.

"I-" her voice trailed off and suddenly she needed the counter to help stabilize herself.

Without a moment's hesitation, I stood up quickly and moved to her side. With my hands clutched at her shoulders, I leaned towards her, letting her share her weight with me instead.

"Are you-"

"Cafe." She said abruptly and jumped back from me. "We met at the cafe! And I-"

Her eyes seemed to darken as she looked into the distance.

"Yes?" I urged her on. The sooner she got her memories back, the better.

"And I-. I was in love with Luhan." She flushed and covered her face with her hands.

Sadly, those were not the words I wanted to hear from her.

At all.

WHAT IS GOING ON

I feel really suspicious... A sryinge? Maybe he is trying to make her forget all her exo memories for real ... The syringe had something in it? Or was it empty? And he acted like he was in Ling's life before, and that talk about "I wont let you ansnd (cant really remember xD)" almost sounds like what Luhan would say. Strange ...

And nooo Tao baby don't be like that *sobs*

How can you write those scenes, I'll never be abe to write them ... I'll probably end up sobbing and throwing my keyboard on the floor and my computer at the wall. Hehe ^^

Good luck with your updates! Fighting! :)
