Frisbee

Chapter 1

Jungkook launched the Frisbee to his friend Taehyung, who seemed to be more interested in the dogs that were playing by them. The Frisbee landed a few metres away from Taehyung, who was completely oblivious. Jungkook hollered at him to get his attention. Taehyung looked around at the sound of his name and realised that he had been spacing out. He shouted an apology before grabbing the Frisbee and launching it back.

Unfortunately, he once again became distracted by the dogs which meant that he threw the Frisbee in the complete wrong direction. Jungkook watched in horror as the Frisbee headed straight towards one of the girls from his class who was reading, completely unaware of the Frisbee about to make contact with her face. He opened his mouth to yell at her to watch out but the words died in his throat as she stretched her hand out at the last second and grabbed the Frisbee before it could hit her.

His jaw dropped as she looked at the Frisbee and then looked up, obviously looking for its owner. He ran over to her, bowing as he approached her. “I’m so sorry. My friend wasn’t paying attention and he threw the Frisbee this way by accident, are you ok?” he said rapidly. The girl smiled at him, closing her book. “Yeah, I’m fine.” She said brightly as she handed over the Frisbee.

“That was an amazing catch by the way.” he said, his awe showing through. She chuckled, “Thanks, I haven’t played this in ages I'm surprised I caught it.” Jungkook's face lit up. “You like to play?” he asked hopefully. She nodded. “Do you wanna play now? My friend got a little distracted.” He said pointing over at Taehyung who was currently wrestling with two dogs. She put her book into her bag and stood up, stretching as she did. “Sounds good, I’m Cindy by the way.” she said as she extended her hand towards him. He took her hand with a grin. “Jungkook.”

Jungkook ran back a short distance, and threw the Frisbee to her. She caught it easily and they both backed up a little farther. She threw the Frisbee back, surprising him with her accuracy. They continued this for the next half an hour before Cindy called for a time out. They met up in the middle, both lying back on the grass. “I haven’t played around like this in a long time, thanks Jungkook.” She said, turning her head to him, squinting a little from the bright sun overhead, as she smiled at him.

Jungkook turned his head to face her, using his hand to shield his eyes from the sun. “No need to thank me. If you're interested though, I play on a team and we’re currently looking for some new members.” He said hopefully. She thought it over before nodding. “You know what, that sounds pretty awesome.” They sat up and exchanged numbers. “I better get going, I have a class in like ten minutes.” She said as she stood up, wiping off her jeans.

“I’ll text you later and maybe we could meet up and you could tell me more about the team?” she said as Jungkook stood beside her, giving her a warm smile. “Sounds good.” He said as she waved and walked off to get her things before going to class. He watched her go until Taehyung jumped on his back. “She’s pretty cute.” He commented, refusing to be dislodged from the younger boys back.

Jungkook dumped the older man to the ground. “Hey!” he yelled in protest. “You should be nicer to me! It’s thanks to me almost hitting her that you were able to hit on her!” Taehyung protested. Jungkook smiled and rolled his eyes as he extended his hand for his hyung. “Fine. I’ll buy you lunch.” He said as they headed to the cafeteria, Jungkook's mind filled with thoughts of Cindy and when he would be able to meet her again.
