The One I Love

There were only a few moments left until lunch. Luhan was looking at Haeun’s side view.

Why is she so different from other girls? She’s not a wolf. I can’t fall for her. But...but I can’t stop thinking about her. I’ve only met her today. How’s this possible...love at first sight? No...no it can’t be.

The bell rang and it was time for lunch. She now knew all of their names. She was only “nice” to D.O. Kai never really talked to her, so she never paid attention to him. Lay seemed nice, Chanyeol was kind of like Baekhyun. And she thought that Chen was a conceited little brat that she always wanted to strangle. Tao acted like a little kid. Kris was cold to her. Suho was nice, but she didn’t like him. Xiumin seemed shy. Sehun was playful, which annoyed her. Luhan...the one she hated the most.

Right when the bell rang for lunch she tried to escape from EXO. She knew that they would try to make her each lunch with them, but right when she stepped out of the classroom Chanyeol was standing in front of her with a big smile on his face.

“Let’s go to lunch together!” he said.

How did he get out here so fast?

Even though wolves had a great sense of smell, they could also use their abilities to hide their smell. That’s what EXO and Haeun were doing. Hiding your smell: the the most basic and important thing a wolf should do.

Haeun looked at Chanyeol strange. Chanyeol smiled at her. Suho used his power to talk to Chanyeol in his mind.

Yah! Park Chanyeol! Don’t you ever do that again! You’ll make her suspicious of us!

Suho’s eyes flashed to a bright green color before turning to dark brown again. He was angry. Chanyeol’s eyes widened.

I-I’m sorry, Suho. I won’t do it again, Chanyeol apologized.

Haeun sighed.

“Fine, I’ll eat lunch with you,” she said.

Unknowingly, Luhan smiled. He looked at Haeun.

She’s so beautiful, he thought. His heart beat began to beat a little faster.

His eyes widened.

Luhan, snap out of it. She’s a human. It’s forbidden. Stop it. You already promised Suho. But, why? How is it that she’s the only girl that can make my heart beat like this.

Luhan slowly moved his right hand up, over his chest. He clutched onto his shirt.

Stop it, stop beating so fast.

D.O. looked at Luhan concerned.

“Hyung, are you okay?” he asked.

“U-uh?” Luhan snapped out it and looked forward, his eyes met Haeun’s.

Her eyes...they didn’t seem cold, nor concerned...they were indifferent. Luhan’s eyes widened.

“Does your chest hurt?” D.O. asked.

Luhan looked at D.O. and shook his head. He quickly put his hand down.

“I’m fine. It’s nothing,” Luhan quickly said.

EXO shrugged it off and began walking towards the cafeteria. Chanyeol and Baekhyun were skipping side by side in the front. Haeun was beside Lay and Suho, walking behind the two hyper kids. Luhan was walking beside Kris in the very back. Luhan sighed and tried to clear his mind of Haeun.

Are you really okay?

Luhan looked up surprised. Kris looked at Luhan. Luhan looked at him. It’s was Kris that was talking to him. Luhan looked down again and continued walking.

What do you mean? Luhan asked.

You’re not acting like yourself, you’re more open than usual, Kris said.

Is that a bad thing? Luhan asked.

Kris shook his head.

It’s not, I guess it’s good.

How?

I don’t know. Today is the most that I’ve ever heard you talk. You keep on teasing that girl too. That’s a first. You usually never talk to girls. Why are you acting so different today? Kris asked.

I-I don’t know.

You...you like her don’t you?

Luhan stopped walking, making Kris stop. Kris looked at Luhan. He was looking at the ground, his head hung low. He shook his head.

I-I don’t know anymore. I already promised Suho not to. It’s forbidden, I know. She’s a human, I’m a wolf...it’s impossible. I’ll just put her in danger.

Kris sighed.

At least you know.
