Adrienne: WHAT?!
Father: Honey, listen. I know that you’re shocked, but if we don’t move, I will fail to retain my job.
Adrienne: But, Dad! Why now? Why not wait until I’m done with High school?
Father: We can finish you high school years in South Korea. It might even be more suitable!
My dad just announced that we’re moving to Korea. South Korea. That’s literally on the other side of the globe!
It’s not that I don’t want to go, nor that I hate it. It’s just that it’s too abrupt.
I don’t mind moving, but what about my friends? Neighbors?
Mother: Everything will be alright! We will take care of everything.
I nodded my head slowly, still in the vortex of confusion. Then I asked.
Adrienne: Do we have to?
Mom and Dad nodded slowly and grimly.
Adrienne: *sigh* okay, I’m going to go pack. But! I’m only doing this because I love you guys.
Mom and Dad embraced me tightly.
Parents: Thank you for your consideration. We promise the experience will be excelling. We will get your Korean down before everything happens.
I nodded and agreed.
But I wonder whether it would really be better...
