A Trip To Neverland

The first thing I feel when I wake up is excruciating pain. My whole body trembles without me being able to stop and I try to open my painful eyes. I blink slowly while my they adjust to the darkness of the room and I roll my head to the side with a groan. I notice then a small, warm light in front of me... And a silhouette crouched next to my bed. I gasp and try to move away, scared of who it might be.

“Shhh, it’s just me Sehun. It’s Yixing,” I hear a tender yet tired voice tell me in the dark.

I relax immediately once I hear his voice and ease myself back on my bed. I stare at the light that emanates from his hand with curiosity and fascination. So that’s how he does it, huh? That’s pretty cool. But wait, where’s- Ah. I bite back my tears as I remember what happened…

“Hey, how much time has passed since… Since the battle?” I ask my friend, my voice cracking slightly under the strong emotions I feel.

He stays silent for a minute or two, concentrated on healing me. But I know that he now feels just like me. Or maybe he did before too.

“It’s been three days,” he says simply, but all the sadness, tiredness and anger in his voice can be easily felt and my heart aches from all his pain he’s trying to hide.

“You’ve been going at this form three days?” I ask, impressed but worried.

“Yeah, your body is pretty stubborn if you ask me,” he tries to joke but no one laughs, us both knowing all too well we won’t be able to for some time.

“I… I’ll be fine, Yixing. I feel much better now. Go take some rest, you need it for sure,” I tell him, when I’m actually feeling horrible inside and outside.

“Thanks Sehun, but no. I have to do this until you completely heal, or else something could go wrong and I won’t be there to help. Just let me help you get better, please,” he answered, trying to sound plain but I could hear the almost begging urge in his voice. This isn’t about me. He’s trying to save Chanyeol through me. He’s trying to make up for what happened then. Oh, Yixing…

I feel my throat squeeze again and my eyes tear up as I play once again the scene. I can still clearly see Chanyeol’s bloody figure on the ground, trying to cheer us up when he was the one dying. Telling us it’s going to be alright. Telling me he’s sorry when I should be the one to be. He fought against Hook for me. He died because of me. Had I been stronger, he wouldn’t have died. Had I not listened to him, he wouldn’t have died. Had I not been a coward, he wouldn’t have died. Had I not been here at all, he wouldn’t have died.

“Hey, what’s this bad energy you’re giving off? Sehun, are you blaming for what happened to Channie?” Yixing asks gently.

Channie. He could still call him like that if he wasn’t dead. I stay silent, knowing very well that I don’t even need to answer.

“Sehun, it’s not your fault at all, you know? He was just trying to do what he could as your friend. He was trying to protect-“

“Exactly!” I cut him off, feeling rage flow through my veins instantly. “He was trying to protect me, while I should have been able to do so on my own! It was because of my own cowardice that he died! He shouldn’t even have had to die! Don’t you get it? It should have been me! I should have died Yixing, me! Not him! Just not him,” I end up sobbing uncontrollably because of both the physical and emotional pain I suffer from.

Yixing crawls next to me on the bed and he soothes my hair, trying to comfort me. However, I can feel him tremble next to me as he silently cries as well, and we end up crying ourselves to sleep next to each other.


The next day, I’m forced by the captain to stay in bed to regain as much forces as I can because we’re approaching at good speed the Mermaid Bay. I decide to ask my friend and healer to get him to tell me everything he knows from that place.

“The Mermaid Bay, huh? That’s a very dangerous place. I understand why the Black Pearl would have gone there. Even Hook is scared to go there.”

“Why? What’s so dangerous about water?” I ask, confused.

“You mean what’s in the water,” he corrects. “One of the most dangerous species in Neverland lives there. The mermaids. Now I know you might wonder how they’re supposed to be dangerous, and I’m going to explain everything to you right now. You do know the Little Mermaid Ariel, right? Yeah well they’re the complete opposite of her. Their beauty is dangerously hypnotizing and they know it. They’re evil creatures that feed on other beings, but the ones they get to eat the most are humans. They enchant them while they come on their boat and drag them to the bottom to drown them and after… You get the point. That being said, I’m sure you’ll be fine because it seems that since you’re Peter Pan and everyone knows you’re with the Black Pearl, I don’t think the mermaids will aim for you. They’re too scared of her.”

“What about you? Do I have to look out for you?”

“You might as well, but I think I can control myself well. Back in China, I had 3-hours long classes of meditation and self-control. Every day. But just to make sure, let’s stick together when we get there, all right? We wouldn’t want to become sushi.”

I stare back at him, my face straight.

“Why would we be sushi? We’re not fish, or vegetables, or rice, or algae.”

“Well, you know. Because we’d be under the sea and all… Nevermind. Just go back to sleep while I finish up your healing.”

I smirk as I lay back down and close my eyes, before going once more into a deep and peaceful sleep.

Hey wow yeah you could say that I'm great at uploading regularly.... Not. But you know, it's not like I didn't want to, but school just decided to make it hard for me.
Aaanyways, I hope you liked this update because next, there's going to be some action up in the Bay, and then, Sehun might or might not reach his goal! Who knows? (I do ^^)
