A Trip To Neverland
Even if the Road Ahead is Dangerous, I Can't Stop Now
“Hello Peter. Have you missed me?” Hook smirks while placing carefully his foot behind him to give him a good balance.
“Oh, no, don’t worry. To be honest, I don’t even remember you! But I guess I left you quite a bit of an impression, for you to remember me all these years later. I wonder why that is?” I say as I take a fighting stance as well. What luck I took fencing classes two years ago.
“To that I must admit. But not only you, but your precious little Black Pearl as well. I have to say, when you get your hand cut off, you remember it for a long, long time. Does that ring a bell, maybe?”
I shake my head and raise slowly my sword, challenging my opponent with my gaze.
“Oh, how fierce you look right now. I might have even felt a chill… Or maybe it’s just the wind. Isn’t it a bit windy tonight?”
“Why aren’t you attacking me?” I ask, ignoring his attempt at conversation. “That’s exactly what you came for, after all. To ‘have my head on a pike by morning’, am I right?”
He giggles, raising his sword and meeting mine.
“So impatient. So youthful. What a shame you won’t get to live any of it!” he yells, plunging towards me.
I dodge his attack swiftly by rolling to the side and rise up instantly. He attacks again and I block his sword with mine before moving to the side again and try to touch him. We go on like this for some time, but I wouldn’t know how much as time seems to go by slowly and quickly at the same time. However, he hits me first when I get distracted by yells that seemed to belong to Chanyeol and Yixing. I grunt in pain as his sword cuts through the flesh of my thigh and blood begins to smear the tissue of my pants. I don’t let it handicap me and I ignore how much it hurts every time I step with my leg. I get to hit him minutes after when he doesn’t guard quickly enough and I touch his waist. The longer the fight goes on, the more we get tired and hit each other. After what seemed like hours, full of cuts and extenuated, my arm doesn’t lift when he decides to finish me and plunges towards my heart. I roll on the side as a final way to protect myself and avoid his sword by a hair.
“You were doing good Peter, where has your youthful energy and spike gone to?” he smirks once again, circling me slowly as I feel all my energy leave me and be replaced by a paralyzing fear. A fear of death.
I grunt and try to get up but nothing is moving. Come on, come on! Sehun! Don’t let that old man kill you! You have to save Gramps and your girlfriend! Ugh, why isn’t my body cooperating?
“That’s okay, you know. You gave me such a good fight that I’m going to finish you quickly. You’ll feel almost no pain. And I understand that you’re very tired. After all, it’s been such a long time since the last time we sparred! I got in better shape, waiting for you. But you… You only go to be reborn as a normal child. You mustn’t have had any practice while I got plenty. A bit unfair, but as we say, isn’t life unfair as well?”
“Sehun!” I suddenly hear screaming above me and I freeze. Well, even more than before. My breath blocks as I hear the loud footsteps of my friend approach.
I try to tell him to go away but my mouth is frozen.
“Oh? Who is that? Oh… Weren’t you part of the Korean circle that was on this boat? I mean, before you got betrayed, that is.”
“I still am,” Chanyeol growls back. “Whether we got betrayed or not didn’t change that.”
“How touching. But, you know, you just interrupted something important. I was just telling this fellow how he would die and-“
“You think I’m going to let that happen? He’s my friend! You think I’ll just step back and wish you a good evening? Of course I know what I interrupted! There’s no way I’m letting my defenseless friend dying by the hands of someone like you!” he yells, his voice filled with rage.
“You are such a nice friend, I’m very impressed. Since you are like that, I’m going to leave you one more chance to walk away before the fight happens between you and me. So now, go on! Go on your way!” Hook shoos him away.
I finally retrieve control of my voice and look at Chanyeol.
“It’s okay. Just go. It’s going to be fine.”
“You seriously think I’m going to listen to a guy that’s on the ground, bleeding from all over? Not at chance in hell,” he scoffs before looking back to Hook. “Fight me. Or what, are you afraid?”
They start to fight just like that while I’m struggling to ignore my aching body and get up. Why am I so weak? You just have to get up! Come on! For Christ’s Sake! I glance at the ongoing fight and seeing my already hurt friend fighting for me rips my heart apart because of my uselessness. When I finally find strength in my legs, I slowly get up and limp towards them.
“Sehun, don’t you dare get closer or I myself will kill you!” I hear Chanyeol yell at me while he continues to concentrate on avoiding Hook’s continuous attacks.
I hesitate, not knowing what to do. Is he really going to be okay? He’s already hurt. But me being there would distract him even more because he’d have to protect me as well. Gosh, why did I have to be so weak? There were so many attacks I could have blocked! And- A metallic flash wakes me up from my thoughts as I notice someone stalking closer to the fight. I frown and squint to depict the face in the night. Horror washes over me as I finally see it. Axel. I limp towards him as fast as I can, trying to block him. He’s not really aiming to kill- I don’t have time to finish that he runs towards the two and I can only yell:
“Chanyeol! Behind you!”
As he turns around, I jump in front of Hook to block him, as I see he is aiming his sword at my friend as well. Victoriously, I block his word with all my strength and without looking back, I push him away with a will I didn’t know was inside me. He stumbles back and falls off the boat with a loud yell. I turn back to see how Chanyeol is doing as I here no sound from their side but I stop dead in my tracks. My heart stops as I see my friend with his sword in Axel… And Axel’s sword in Chanyeol. I run to them, not feeling anything anymore.
“Chanyeol! Chanyeol!” I scream continuously, shaking him. I look around desperately for something, anything, that can save him. Yixing.
I yell for my other friend name frantically while shaking Chanyeol under me. After a short time, I hear someone running behind me and I immediately know that Yixing is here.
“Yixing, help him I’m begging you, please,” I plead as I begin to sob uncontrollably.
“Channie, Channie!” Yixing taps his face slightly, trying to wake him up. “Come on now! Channie!” he whispers frantically. “Chanyeol!” he yells aggressively.
Suddenly, the person in question opens his eyes slightly and smiles weakly.
“Hey, unicorn, no need to be so urgent. I was trying to sleep here.”
“Don’t you dare sleep! DO you hear me? No sleeping! You gotta stay with me!” Yixing urges while he rubs his hands fast.
“Don’t,” Chanyeol murmurs. “The kiddo needs it more than I do,” he pushes his friend’s hands away.
“What do you mean, I need them more than you? You’re dying! I’ll be fine! Yixing, please!” I sob again hitting the floor next to me.
Yixing looks at me helplessly.
“As much as I hate it, he’s got a point too. Sehun, you’re going to die as well if I don’t treat you. And you’re more important than Chanyeol for Neverland.”
“I don’t care about Neverland! It can wait! Just treat him please,” my voice breaks.
“Yixing, you know what to do,” Chanyeol whispers under us, his lids fluttering.
“Chanyeol, stay a bit more, come on! Hang on!” my friend begs him next to me, holding tightly his now pale hand. “Come on, Channie. Please.”
“Kiddo, I need to tell you something,” Chanyeol strains to say. “I know you’ll be able to do it. Go find her and do your thing. Save Neverland and make me proud. Make us all proud,” he says as a tear falls from the corner of his eyes. “I’m sorry I can’t be a part of that anymore.”
My head suddenly begins to burn as I realize another memory of the past is going to come, but I blink quickly to focus on my dying friend.
“Channie, before you go, I need to tell you something. I met Jongin during the fight, and he says he’s sorry. For everything. Did you hear that? Jongin’s sorry. He wants to be your friend again,” Yixing clutches on desperately, shaking Chanyeol.
He smiles and nods, looking peaceful.
“Thank you for everything, Yixing and Sehun. Really, thank you,” he murmurs before his whole body goes limp and I can’t hold back the memory anymore.
I hold onto someone’s hand desperately, yelling.
“Don’t you dare leave! Don’t leave me alone! I still need you!” I order the person.
“Peter, it’s going to be okay. You’re both going to be okay. You don’t need me anymore,” a whisper answers back. “I know you’ll be able to do it. Go with her and save Neverland. Make me proud. Make us all proud.”
“JACOB!”
Notes
I'M SORRY I SWEAR BUT IT WAS NEEDED.
I didn't mean to kill Chanyeol at first but then it dawned on me that I needed to make a parallel to explain what was going to happen later. Or, what happened before. Ugh, whatever. I understand myself. I hope you don't hate me too much! >.<<br> I hope you had a great week, because mine was boring. Back to school while everyone seems to be on Spring Break, very motivating I swear (not). Otherwise, all's good in the Hood :)
Thank you so much for reading this story, it warms my heart when I see the views going up everyday. I hope you will support this story until the end!
