A Trip To Neverland

Because We Will Meet Again

This next chapter will be a recollection of fragments of Sehun’s memories of his past life, to explain a little bit what happened before.

*****

They walked on the beach peacefully, hand in hand, as if they were the only ones in the world right now. Which they both knew was horribly false. None of them said a word, just enjoying the moment and listening to the calm sound of the waves rolling on the sand. But again, they knew this couldn’t last for very long. It could never last. It was her who spoke first, as always.

“Peter, don’t you think we should get farther away from here? They might reach us quickly.”

He shook his head and gripped her hand tighter. She immediately knew what he was going to say next.

“No, we’re fine. And I’m not afraid of them. They can come if they want to, this time I’m ready. This time, I won’t make the same mistake.”

She turned around and cupped his face in her hands gently, her eyes searching his almost desperately.

“Peter, what happened wasn’t your fault. You couldn’t have possibly known they would be hiding there. You have to know that he doesn’t resent you. After all, wasn’t he your-“

“He still is, don’t talk in the past. Please,” he said silently, begging her with his clear blue eyes.

She nodded, feeling her heart sink. She couldn’t bear to see the man she loved the most live with such deep regret. But every time she tried to lift a little of his burden, he pushed her away to protect her. He thought she had too much on her own to bear his as well. She sighed and resumed her walk, reaching for his warm and comforting hand again. They went on silently for a few minutes before she decided it was time to change the gloomy atmosphere that hung over them and ran towards the beautiful ocean that spread before them. He stared at her for a moment, silently enjoying the heartwarming view that was her wavy, thick black hair that flowed down her pure white back. Before he could stop it, the corners of his mouth lifted on their own and he shot the undoubting woman a tender smile. He decided to join her and there they were, playing in the water like children on their first trip. But of course, it couldn’t last. It could never, ever last.

*****

He ran through the forest like a gazelle being chased by a tiger. Well, it really was similar to his situation. Except that he wouldn’t be eaten, but tortured. He had never experienced it before, but he knew it couldn’t be pleasant. Just like touching the Sun. He didn’t need an IQ of 200 to know it wasn’t good. But, we’re getting off-track here. And so he ran like his life depended on it, because really, it did, and just as he thought he was going to get away, the most hateful obstacle he had ever seen came into his view. A rock. A big, fat one at that. Of course it had to block the whole passage. It was like the entire universe wanted him to die horribly.

“Oh come on, I’m only 14, can’t you help me just once?” he whined at the trees that stood tall over him. But they did not answer, nor did they move to help. “Is this world magic or not? You tell me,” he grunted as he ran to the rock.

He analyzed it quickly and even if there were almost to no ways of climbing it, he still tried. He could hear the shouts of the men behind him and clawed furiously at the rock in front of him. Just when he was about to give up, he felt a part that was more caved in then others and, with the help of adrenaline, he held onto it with his dear life. He climbed up quickly and without caring to look behind to his enemies, he jumped off. He dusted himself off and looked up again.

“Well, I guess you did help a little. I mean, what are the chances of finding a shack in the middle of nowhere?” he said, surprised. Still no responses, but at this point he didn’t care. He walked around the small building and finally found the door. Without hesitating, he opened it and emptiness and silence welcomed him, along with the unpleasant smells of… Pee? Oh my God this is gross. Oh well, it’s still worth it.

“This shall be my new house from now on. What should I call you? Hm? Oh, yes yes yes. Great idea, Peter,” he patted himself on the back while nodding approvingly. “The Pan.”

*****

“Peter you have to go! Don’t wait anymore! Please, I’ll be fine!” she shouted as her shield kept weakening.

“I’m not leaving you! How could I? Who do you take me for? A wimp?” he refused, fighting off the men on the other side.

“Stop it with your stupid ego! Go through the door already! You, out of all people, know that you’re the most important person here! Go while I can still protect you!”

“There’s no way I’ll just run away while woman, no matter how powerful she is, protects me! Especially you! I should be the one doing it!”

She grunted and as she was about to shout insults to him about his ego and ancient ways of thinking, a flash of metal glinted in the corners and the only person she thought would, no, could never come appeared and slashed at the enemies with his proud sword.

“I’ll take him there. Just do your thing until you can’t anymore okay?” he shouted at her before winking at her, her face stricken with surprise.

She only nodded in answer before moving her whole concentration on the enemies at hand, her will more powerful than ever.

“Hey, Peter! How about you and I go have a little trip on the other side of the door?” she heard him say.

“What? How- No! I’m not leaving! It doesn’t matter if you’re real or I’ve just gone mad or you’re just an apparition from her mind, I’m not going anywhere!”

“Oh, sorry, did you think I was giving you a choice? Come on!” he said as he grabbed Peter’s arm and threw him next to the door.

“Sorry this was so short, but we really need to go now. We’ll see each other again though!” the man greeted her.

Just before he stepped in the portal, she remembered something and called after him.

“Here, take this pendant! You know he’ll age too quickly and die in the other world so just put this in a baby’s body and it’ll be him!” she said as she threw the object in question in his hands.

He grabbed it, examined it slightly and turned back to her. He could see from the beads of sweat on her forehead that she was going to go weak any moment now but he needed to know.

“What is this?” he shouted at her.

“A part of his soul,” she answered back before the shield went down completely.

He nodded, suddenly feeling the importance of what was between his hands. At the last moment, he looked back at her and said:

“He’ll come back to save you, so just wait! Because you will meet again!”

Notes

Wow double update much? How about that?
Okay so I know this chapter was weird and confusing but I really wanted to write that because I wanted to clarify some things although I feel like it really didn't do anything but oh well :)
Oh and I wanted to say how amazed I am by the number of views going up so quickly, I legit jaw-dropped (can this be said or am I illiterate?) when I saw it. So yeah that's that.
Thank you so much for reading this, it warms my heart a lot in this cold winter ^^ Please don't hesitate to vote and comment as well, it's really appreciated!
As always,
Saranghae :) <3<3<3<3
