A Trip To Neverland
I Raise the Sail and Ride the Wind until the End
I walk on the ship, glancing around at everything that catches my eye. Some crewmen look at me weirdly but I try to ignore them as I explore a whole new world.
“Hey! I heard you’re Korean? I am too! Or I was? I don’t know if I changed nationality by coming here… In this case, I’d be a… Neverlander? God I’m confused, and I only came to introduce myself. You really make me think, kiddo,” I hear a deep voice behind me as I feel a slight tap on my shoulder.
I turn around to see a tall but slim man with funny ears and big eyes look down at me. I can’t help but smile back at him when I see his wide one.
“I’m Oh Sehun, at least in South Korea. Here, you can just call me Peter,” I greet by handing my hand over to him.
He shakes it warmly while answering.
“I’m Chanyeol, Park Chanyeol. I didn’t have to change my name coming here, so… I’m just Chanyeol,” he grins widely while giggling mischievously.
“Chanyeol! Where are- Oh, here you are. Ahhh, you’re Peter, aren’t you?” another man suddenly comes over and shakes my hand. “I’m Yixing, pleased to meet you. As you can see, I’m also Asian, but I’m Chinese. But we can still be brothers if you want? Chanyeol and I are treating each other like that, so… We could be the Asian Trio! How does that sound?” he says excitedly without letting me the time to place a word.
“More like the Idiot Trio,” yet another man grumbles behind us in a deep growl. He passes us before heading over to someone else, but that doesn’t stop Yixing from scolding him.
“Hey Axel! That’s not nice! Come back here, will you? Didn’t your mom teach you some manners? Respect your elders, how much do I have to tell you?”
My head snaps towards the Chinese man.
“What do you mean, elders? Nobody here is older than him,” I say, looking intently at both their juvenile faces.
“Oh, we’re older than we look. I’m 25 and he’s 23,” he answers, pointing at himself and Chanyeol, who’s still grinning like an idiot. “By the way, how old are you?”
“I’m 18.”
“Wow, so young! No wonder you have such nice skin! I’m jealous~” Chanyeol says, touching swiftly my skin face.
I back away slightly at the sudden movement but he doesn’t seem to notice at all. We continue to chat for a moment until the man who accompanied me here, Roger, informs us that we are about to depart soon and all men should get into their positions. I follow my two new friends down the stairs of the boat, where they fetch a long paddle-like object and hand it to me.
“Here, you’re really a part of the crew now!” they both say at the same time when I reach for it.
I thank them and we head upstairs again when suddenly the ground beneath us shakes violently. I begin to panic but everybody around is acting completely normal and does their own things.
“Uhm excuse me, are earthquakes so frequent here that you don’t care anymore or something?” I call out to Yixing, my voice nervously cracking while I try to find my balance with my paddle.
“What do you mean, earthquakes? The ship is only rising! You know, to fly!” he laughs back as he and Chanyeol sit down on a large wooden bench and enjoyed the scene.
I stare at them in confusion but not for very long as I begin to feel sick. I sit down next to them and hug my abdomen to calm it. This is going to be one hell of a ride.

I woke up in a comfortable bed and I turned over to the right, burying myself deeper in the sheets. Wait. Why is this swaying? Am I sick?
“Hey kiddo, you awake?” I hear a familiar joyful deep voice in my back.
Oh, right. I’m on a boat to save someone I don’t even know. Well, I do know her but I just don’t remember. But I kinda do-
“Hey, are you okay? You sure gave me a scare when you fell unconscious next to me!” another voice, higher than the first, interrupted my trail of thoughts.
I forced myself up and glanced at my two friends, one grinning widely at me and the other looking really worried. I felt the corners of my mouth go upwards slightly as I felt a familiar warmth spread in my chest. They remind me of Grandpa Suho. I suddenly think of something I have been curious about for a while and turn to Chanyeol.
“Hey, you know. Roger told me there were about 4 or 5 other Koreans, well including you. Where are they?”
His face turns dark momentarily and I can’t help but feel guilty.
“They’re dead. They died 2 years ago,” he answers sternly as I feel a shiver go down my spine.
“Wh-Why?” I stutter nervously.
“We were betrayed. By one of our own. He dared, after all they did for him. He dared, that son of a-“
“Channie, it’s okay. Relax,” Yixing soothes him while gently rubbing his back. “Sehun, I’ll tell you later okay? We need to go upstairs, the captain called us. See you,” he says calmly before smiling weakly at me and heading out the room with his friend.
I stare at their backs confusedly and fall back on my pillow. What on earth happened? They got betrayed? By who? Two years ago… What was I doing, at that time? They were suffering like this and I was living peacefully, without knowing anything? When they are my people? Grandpa, did you know about this? Would you have helped them? Of course you would have, being the kindest person I’ve ever met. Oh, Grandpa, I hope you’re okay. I really hope you are. If you’re hurting, I couldn’t live with it. Gramps… I fall back into a deep sleep, feeling something wet and hot dripping from the corners of my eyes.

“One, two! One two! One, two!” the vice-captain continuously calls from the front.
We all paddle simultaneously, sweating profusely and grunting like men who hadn’t seen water for years. Which is definitely not the case, as we are surrounded by it. We glide over the Calixa Ocean as if we were sliding on ice, the strong wind helping us by pushing our sails strongly.
“Rest!” he calls again, and as if on cue we all drop our paddles and sigh in relief.
I massage my irritated red hands and wipe my sweat on my forehead with my forearm. I glance at Yixing and Chanyeol as they speak to each other but I don’t dare to join them, still shocked from the sudden outburst of anger the second one had at the mention of his fellow Korean friends. I shrug and ask the vice-captain when we were going to paddle again, and he answers that it wouldn’t be before 3 or 4 hours. I decide to go take a nap and head downstairs. As I’m about to reach the end of the stairs, I hear the mean, deep voice from some days ago and hide myself quickly behind the wall.
“Those idiots,” he grumbles. “They keep ordering me around, thinking I will let them just walk all over me like those other idiots. Hook told Kai before, and he told me. I should have followed him. I should have. Well, like they say, it’s never too late. They’ll see, they’ll see just what kind of power they’re missing out on.”
As I hear the voice coming closer, I step up the stairs as silently as I can and head down again as naturally as I can, when I see Axel in front of me, walking up the stairs. I try to ignore the hateful glare he sends me and go on my way, but I can’t help but freeze when I hear him mutter under his breath:
“You’re going down with them, Peter Pan. Even the Black Pearl can’t save you now.”
Notes
How are you all doing? Oh I'm fine, thank you ;)
So I hope you liked this update and I'm sorry if you just want the romance to come already but there are some things that need to be taken care of before that so yeah... Be patient, okay?
Oh and I can't believe I forgot to tell you in the last update but I finally got my braces three days ago and it's so weird and uncomfortable but I guess all of that is going to be worth it in the end, right?
And just so you know, most of my titles from now on are going to be lyrics of both the songs Black Pearl and Peter Pan. The first 3 aren't though, so don't try to search that! But yeah, from now on they will be so maybe you can try and guess what song they're from? :)
Thank you so much for reading, I really appreciate it! Please don't hesitate to vote and comment as well!
As always,
Saranghae :) <3<3<3<3
