Catherine’s POV


I really wanted to tell DK about what happened. I was still trembling. Grabbing my phone, I decided to send him a message.

석민아..제발 나 좀 만나줄래?
SeokMin-a, can you please meet me?

I ended up spending my lunch break crying. I was terrified. It wasn’t like I could tell anyone in the office about it and risk ruining my career. I thought that since DK was in the industry, he would know what to do but he didn’t reply.

After lunch break, I decided to regain my composure and continue my work. I ended up not thinking about what happened much because of how busy I was.

Work day ended. As I was making my way out of the building, the security guard stopped me on my tracks.

“Miss! There’s someone here who’s waiting for you.”

I looked around and noticed a man clad in all black and I recognized him as BTS’ manager. He gestured me to come closer so I dashed there.

He offered his apology for V’s behavior. Apparently RM figured about what happened and thought that I should be compensated in any way for what he did. I was touched. I didn’t know that RM was that responsible as a leader.

He asked me to tag along with him to the company to discuss about it and to get my side of the story. I was terrified of meeting V again but it would be best to settle this once and for all, I thought.

They weren’t in the top 3 in the industry but they managed to rise up in the ranks due to the immense popularity of BTS.
The building looked new and all the furniture were definitely just recently bought. They were still spotless and looked like they were straight out of a catalogue!

The manager brought me to a room where BTS was waiting. At the sight of V, I froze on the spot. The manager calmed me down and ensured my safety.

We were separated by the long table, V and I. The manager sat beside me while the members decided to stand at the back, listening to our conversation from the sidelines.

I recounted every single detail of the incident as how it happened. Some of them nodded in response but others were just flabbergasted that V had the audacity to do it. Meanwhile, V just sat there with his poker face.

He continued to recount his side of the story, insisting that I was in on his gig, that I wanted him to do it.

“For God’s sake, can you please just tell the truth?”

Everyone turned to find the source of the voice. Rap Monster. I could tell that this wasn’t the first time V had done such shenanigans.

V had foregone his poker face and settled on begging for mercy in the end.

He apologized and even bowed to me so I forgave him because I couldn’t exactly do otherwise.

Awkward silence...

The manager let out a cough. “태형 (TaeHyeong), you’re grounded.” Everyone’s eyes were balling out. “While everyone else is going to their individual schedules, I’ll cancel yours until further notice. This isn’t funny and you have to learn to be responsible because you need to stay focused now, okay?”

“But...”

“No buts unless you want Bang PD to know about this.”

V bit his lip and ran out of the room; the members followed suit except for Rap Monster who decided to stay.

I was probably blanking out for a while before reality started to sink in. I felt bad for him but it was the entertainment industry after all. No scandals or you’re out.

The manager ended up giving me two VIP tickets to their upcoming concert and a backstage pass. He insisted that I could ask them for anything that could help me write an exclusive article for MODE. I was thrilled and furiously thanked him in return.

Rap Monster ended up ushering me to the exit since the manager still had to attend to V.

He was really chivalrous. He told me to call him 남준 오빠 (Namjoon Oppa). He kept on ensuring that I was alright with the whole settlement and he passed on the message that BTS adored me from the interview so they wouldn’t mind if I decided to be their friends.

I was flattered. It made me realize that they were indeed still normal people who just needed normal friends.

He neither gave his number nor asked for mine but he insisted on me contacting their manager when I wanted to reach them so I agreed.

As we reached the exit, he excused himself and we parted ways. I couldn’t help but admire him. He wasn’t the most attractive person in the world. You wouldn’t call him handsome to be frank but there was something about him that intrigued me into knowing him further. I immediately dismissed that thought because there was no way that an idol could have possibly wanted to get to know a normal girl like me.

I was thinking of finally starting on the POV of DK because well, he deserve to get his side of the story out there :)
