Secrets

I raced to the front door, almost tripping in the process, and open the door. I smiled when I saw Megan standing in front of me.

"Come in! hurry." I took her hand and dragged her tot he living room.

"Woah, calm down." Megan said, laughing.

"So, where are our grandparents? My mom wanted me to give your grandmother some of her homemade Monkey Bread." Megan says liftng up a cake container.

"Ah, they're out of town. My grandpa needed to go get tests done again." I led her in to the kitchen and she set the container on the counter.

"Will be okay?" I didn't answer her. I didn't want to talk about the health of my grandfather.

Megan must of understood because she grabbed some plates.

"Let's eat some! We don't want it to go to waste, now do we?"

"Yeah, of course! Le-"

I was cut off when I felt the pain again in my chest. I threw my hand on my chest where my hear is and fell to my knees.

"Christian?" I felt Megan put her hands on my back but, I didn't say anything. I was too focused on the pain in my chest, and to make matters worse, my head starting hurting.

"Christ! What's going on?" The pain was much more intense than it the other night. I couldn't even get up.

"My chest...i-it hurts." I look up at her threw my tear filled eyes. She got up and stepped back, looking shock.

"It's your chest?! Christian, listen carefully, is anything else hurting?"

"M-My head." Megan crinkled her eyebrows in confusion. Suddenly, her eyes widen.

"Oh my- your eyes! They just turned gold!" I quickly got up despite the extreme pain in my chest and went over to the glass doors and look at my reflection. Sure enough, my eyes were gold! Almost as gold as J-hope's eyes.

"Have you eyes been changing colors like this?"

"W-what does that have a-"

"Just answer the question, Christian."

"Only once. The other night- I thought I saw my eyes turning gold."

"I knew it." She whispered to herself as she stared at me with a look I couldn't make out.

"W-what d-do you mean?" She didn't answer me. Instead, she dug in her bag for something.

"Here." She says giving me a glass bottle filled with plls.

"Whenever you get this pain- take two pills." I slowly nodded my head as I threw two of them in my mouth and took a sip of water that she gave me.

"Are you okay?" She ask, putting her hand on my shoulder.

"Yeah."

"Good, let's get some monkey bread now."
