Love for you

chapter 7

He looked at the flower bouquet in his hands one last time and nervously scratched the back of his neck. Long fingers nervously tugged on the collar and restless feet began to make their move towards the door happened to be there just a few steps away. He slowly swallowed his saliva and licked his lips unconsciously before finally putting a hand on the door handle.

The cold surface of handle sent a shiver down his spine. He straightened himself for a moment and relaxed his stiffed muscles. He wasn’t sure if the person he was expecting to be there was really in or not but at least he could expect her presence in there, so he slowly moved the handle and the door clicked opened, revealing a quick sight of his bedroom from aside.

He swallowed once again and the grip of his hand tightened on the bouquet end. His eyes wondered inside before he finally pushed the door and welcomed himself inside, glancing over a certain figure laying on the bed under covers almost hidden.

He let out a deep breath he didn’t know he was holding, before he shut the door behind and glanced at the laying figure to notice that, he couldn’t find any movement there. He supposed her to be sleeping so he walked towards the side table of his bedside and put down the bouquet there carefully before looking towards her once again briefly. He sighed inwardly and placed his cards carrier, wallet and other stuff without making any noise so it won’t awake the figure sleeping near it. His eyes moved on the outline of the bouquet and a smile slowly made its way on his lips without his knowing. He touched the white daisies absentmindedly for a moment before he turned to walk towards the bathroom with a thought that may be the beautiful punishment he had decided for Eun-hee was too much. He didn’t want any life threatening harm for her but just a little bother was fine so he hummed under his breath as he moved his way towards the changing room after a long and tiring mental debate under the shower.

However, he couldn’t help but frost in his trunks when he spotted Eun-hee staring at the flower bouquet while still laying on the bed under the covers. Her face was out of covers now and her eyes were straight stuck at the side where the bouquet he had placed approximately half an hour ago.

He licked his tongue once again out of nervousness and tried to recall the excuse he had prepared for this that he couldn’t think of it right now.

“Who gave it you Mr. Kim?”

He almost jumped on his feet when he heard Eun-hee’s soft and low voice calling for him. He wasn’t prepared for this sudden question so he just rubbed his hands and blinked repeatedly to figure out how he should answer the emotionless question.

Eun-hee’s eyes were still stuck on the bouquet and her low voice was toneless so he couldn’t tell what was on her mind right now.

“I_,” He stepped forward and began in a soft tone before he realized he was shuttering. He stopped for a moment, tried to read Eun-hee’s expressionless face and he failed miserably he continued hesitantly, resuming his walk towards the edge of his own bed Eun-hee was occupying this time. “I brought the flowers for you. I bought them”.

He tried to assure her that he bought them for her and he brought the flowers on his own will. Eun-hee moved her gaze towards his face and slowly sat up on the bed, moving covers off her body.

She still had no expressions and her gaze was again on the bouquets now sitting nicely on the side table. She was wearing a grey tank top revealing her long arms he had never seen those bare before. She always wore those formal men’s shirts covering her whole body nicely but maybe she was comfortable around him now for wearing these kind of cloths too, he knew she never liked to wear around him. A smile crept on his lips absentmindedly and he, after realizing that she wasn’t going to answer anytime soon, let his steps led him towards the changing room, so he could change his towel robe into something comfortable.

With a towel hanging around his neck and water dripping occasionally from the un-dried hair and travelling on his neckline along with absorbing in the towel around the neck, he came out of the changing room only to find her setting the bouquet in the vase across the balcony glass window.

He frost on his place abruptly. Hands working the towel on the hair fell unconsciously. His heart skipped a beat or maybe two, as he swallowed again absentmindedly.

Working on the flowers, she was looking extremely beautiful. The long milky-white fingers grabbing the flower stem elegantly and long bare arms shinning under the beautiful strands of sunlight coming from the glass wall of the balcony. Her long brown lashes shined under the twinkling of light dust and the pink thin lips smiled faintly when she touched the upper Patel of soft pink carnation matching with the natural dusted color on her cheeks.

He felt himself bounded by the spell she was casting, standing there under the strands of honey sunlight and working on the flower he brought for her, completely turned light honey and glistered at the skin.

He instantly regretted his decision for bringing flowers. She looked happy after seeing those flowers and if it affected her in anyway, he wondered if he’d feel happy. Was she always this beautiful or he had just noticed now and if she was a living fairy not the Eun-hee he knew as his wife then where did she come from looking exactly like the Eun-hee he knew.

His heartbeats went wild and he dug his teeth in his lower lip right away. The sweet pants and tank she was wearing wasn’t the outfit fairies liked to wear, isn’t it? Then why was she wearing such casual clothes if she wasn’t Eun-hee. His breathe tried to play pranks on him and he couldn’t help but tore his eyes off her. It wasn’t good was it?

“Staring is rude Mr. Kim,” Eun-hee’s soft voice stunned him. He blushed furiously in embarrassment. Eun-hee’s tone had no sarcasm laced but still he felt like it was quite humiliating. He cleared his throat absentmindedly and tried to busy himself again with working towel in his hair. Eun-hee wasn’t looking towards her even when she spoke so it was less embarrassing but well, he had to find his hand hair dryer and he was unable to do that because of the loud and furious heartbeats he was trying to handle in his chest case. “I thought, you said, I was nothing to you, so why did you bring flowers for me”.

Jong-in’s hand stopped midway. He instantly turned his head back to look at Eun-hee who was cutting the long stems from the edge with the help of scissor without looking towards him. Her words were toneless but still he didn’t know why, but he felt a little hurt in the words. Maybe it was his imaginations; he shrugged it off and resumed getting the hairdryer out of the drawer.
“I saw you fighting with Sehun this morning for flowers,” he carefully chose his words before speaking. He didn’t want her to sense that he knew about her allergy from flowers. “You fought with me too for no reason so I just wanted to tell you that, maybe we don’t have any relationship I didn’t cheat, whether it’s cheating or not”.

He turned on the dryer and back facing Eun-hee he started working on his hair for drying them with his fingers running in his hair and occasionally brushing in some back blown pattern. Eun-hee took a moment before speaking and the moment was quite awkward for the silence between them and the low voice of dryer in the pin drop silence that hung between them unintentionally.

“Why do you want me to know that Mr. Kim,” Jong-in was expecting this question so he just sighed inwardly without stopping his activities or looking back towards her. “When we are nothing to each other. I don’t think we need to explain anything to each other”.

It was bit direct and straight but Jong-in himself was a straightforward person so he didn’t really mind it and when she actually was right at this thing anyway.

“Because I don’t want to fight over this matter again,” he replied in a cold tone without trying to be rude. Eun-hee wasn’t in his sight so he had no idea, what expression she had right now and really, he didn’t want to know either. “Or let the whole collage know that I’m cheating on my wife or play around with girls. I’ve my repute out there and I don’t want it to be ruined because of a misunderstanding again.”

A moment of silence fell once again between them but it was quite comfortable this time unlike the awkward they shared few minutes ago. Jong-in continued drying his hair and remained oblivious of Eun-hee’s thoughts until she spoke and stunned him for a moment.

“Are you mad at me?”

Eun-hee asked in a toneless voice and Jong-in travelled his eyes in his front view absentmindedly. He pursed his lips in a thin line, inhaled and exhaled a deep breath and licked his lips once again before he answered her dryly and felt her gaze piercing in his back unconsciously.

“Unquestionably,” Jong-in stated in a low and dry tone before he turned back to look at Eun-hee who was looking straight towards, holding a daisy in her hand and chewing her inside of cheek unconsciously. “But do you care?”

Eun-hee dropped her gaze on the ground and chewed on her inner cheek one last time before she answered him with a hint of embarrassment in her tone. Jong-in absentmindedly travelled his gaze from his long shinning lashes to her small milky nose and red tinted cheeks. She had a hint of embarrassment on her face and Jong-in found himself more embarrassed as he knew, he brought flowers for her to punish her for ruining her image in front of everyone. He first thought Eun-hee won’t touch those flowers and he was nervous, his plan would be ruined.

She’ll receive the flowers and she won’t receive her punishment; these were the thought he had in his mind but he had no clue he would regret his decision so badly when Eun-hee excused herself all embarrassed.

“I’m sorry,” Eun-hee said biting her lower lip and nervously playing with the daisy in her hand. Jong-in wanted to snatch that flower from her hand and throw it somewhere Eun-hee wouldn’t be able to find. Alas, it was too late to do that. He fidgeted inwardly at her lower gaze and nervousness. A sorry was enough but the punishment was something she had already received without realizing. “I know, I overreacted.”

Jong-in just hummed under his breath and turned his back at her to resume drying his hair, he didn’t realize was enough dried to be left alone.

“Mr. Kim,” after a brief moment of silence Eun-hee started again and Jong-in walked towards the dressing mirror corner only to get her in his view in the refection. She was playing with the flowers trialing her long index finger at the light pink alstroemeria flower petals with a muse expression on her face and long brown lashes shadowing the red tinted cheeks. It was a spell bounding view, Jong-in unconsciously thought. “Why didn’t you just let me pass through the locked case of your plants in the balcony instead of buying me a bouquet? I like the plants you have grown”.

“298,” Jong-in half heartily told her the password of the locked case and Eun-hee instantly looked towards his face through the mirror. She had confusion floating in her eyes and the black orbs compelled his heart to skip several beats of it at once. “Pass code of the case”.
Jong-in cleared the confusion and Eun-hee’s face instantly lit up. He at once regretted; she would now break into his plant case and it’ll only affect her. He sighed in defeat at the sparkle in her eyes. She surely knew how to use her beauty weapon; Jong-in huffed inwardly at this.
“Thanks Mr. Kim,” the sweetness was overflowing now and hard to swallow. He just shifted his attention at brushing his slightly wet hair and styling it. “But Mr. Kim, do you know what the meaning of this bouquet is? You don’t right?”

Jong-in frowned. Dropping the idea of styling his hair, he turned back and looked at her. She was smiling mischievously at him.

‘Don’t tell me it means the initiation of world war three’ Jong-in huffed inwardly.
“I don’t,” he admitted, crossing his arms at his chest and staring straight at her glittering face under the sunshine. “Do you?”

“Of-course,” She smiled mischievously and Jong-in wanted to roll his eyes at this but well, he didn’t. “I used to study about flowers a lot, so I know. When you mix the soft pink carnations, light pink alstroemeria and white daisies, it shows the purity and simplicity of your love. It shows your love has no desire of lust but just purity and it means, ‘sincerely yours’. A devotion to love and purity of your feelings, a lovely bouquet it is”.

Jong-in taken aback at the stream of words flooded out of her mouth and he didn’t want to believe her words but when she turned her back at him faintly and sincerely smiling at the flowers, Jong-in couldn’t help but believe. Well, it was true, he didn’t know the meaning, or else he wouldn’t have bought this bouquet. He wanted to ask Kyungsoo to help him but he was too busy lecturing him that he dropped the idea and went all by himself which resulted in ‘this’. He didn’t realize he blushed at the description but one thing he knew that, Eun-hee was going to humiliate him for this.

“I_I didn’t know”

Jong-in shuttered and scratched the back of his neck out of nervousness. Eun-hee looked back and beamed at him taking his breath because of her beauty. Jong-in wished the sun to go hide under the clouds and stop threatening his life like that by turning a devil into a fairy in front of his eyes.

“I know,” she smiled nicely and Jong-in let out a relieved sigh. She wasn’t going to humiliate him and it was enough heart satisfying for him but when she finished her words, Jong-in wanted to punch the vase and shatter it into small pieces. Some nice bouquet it was; Jong-in groaned down his throat. “But if like now, we are exchanging flowers, shouldn’t we go on a honeymoon?”

“Eun-hee!”

He glared at her and she laughed throwing herself at the bed on her stomach but eyes never left Jong-in in the process.

“Please Mr. Kim,” she begged him like a child would beg an adult for an extra candy. Jong-in snorted and tossed the hairbrush aside he was holding in his hand all this time, before grabbing his cell phone from the side table and laying beside Eun-hee on the bed in a different position. “One honey moon wouldn’t hurt right?”

Jong-in almost chocked on the air. He moved his head on the bed towards Eun-hee who was holding her face on her hands supported by her knees on the bed surface, and raised his one brow at her. How could she show such kicked puppy face for this.

“What do you mean by one honeymoon wouldn’t hurt?,” Jong-in narrowed his eyes at her in suspicion. “Are you planning for more than one?”

Eun-hee clicked her tongue in extreme amusement and smiled ear to ear at this causing Jong-in to roll his eyes at her and stare back at his phone as if he was expecting a call from someone.

“Well, it’ll only give us a chance to travel around the world,” She poked her cheeks with all her fingers on the cheeks playfully and Jong-in couldn’t help but look at her in amusement. She must have lost it today or she was truly happy for being able to touch flowers that she’s asking him to go on a honeymoon with her. This girl actually was unpredictable since the first he met her. She would suddenly react, suddenly turn cold, suddenly change expressions and suddenly turn expressionless. Even her tone would change, suddenly cold or sometime toneless words she’d throw here and there. It really was difficult to read her, Jong-in sighed inwardly. “But I don’t think I can bear you for long so just one if fine.”

Eun-hee smirked and Jong-in snorted but not long after both burst out in a fist of laughter in a rhythm. Jong-in couldn’t help but throw a pillow at her while laughing and she just dodge, laughing whole-heartily.

“I can’t stand you longer too”.

Jong-in threw a pillow again at her and she, after catching that, threw it back at him. He dodged while laughing and it was the initiation of their little pillow fight. Jong-in climbed up at her with a pillow and rolled at the bed causing him to fall on his face while she continued laughing beating him with pillows laying on the bed.

“Eun-hee, I’ll kill you”

Jong-in threatened while trying to save him from the fist of pillow hits and Eun-hee just laugh as loud as she could.

“Come here you_”

Jong-in managed to grab her from her wrist and in a jolt; she was at the top of him with pillows resting around them building a castle for some royal married couple they were. The moment between them stopped right away and heartbeats stopped.

They forgot to blink, forgot to laugh, forgot they hated each other, forgot they were playing with each other like they never had a fight and now, the only thing they could see and listen was, each other’s faces, each other’s faint heat beats. Staring directly at each other, they didn’t realize they were studying each other’s features closely. Eun-hee’s breath on Jong-in’s lips tickled him a little but he was so absorbed in her eyes that he couldn’t feel anything else but her fast but faint heart beats.

That moment was slow, that moment was full of new foreign feelings, that moment was filled with heat beats and slow breathes. The brief moment they had, they felt like eternity that aware them with each other’s every single touch.

Before they could realize the situation or fell into another moment of awkwardness, a soft knock widened their eyes and as soon as they turned their heads towards the door, they found Jong-dae standing holding onto the door.

Both quickly looked at each other in horror and Eun-hee jumped off Jong-in’s body. Jong-in instantly straitened himself and both chewing their lips tried to look at Jong-dae from the corner of their eyes but a sudden burst of laughter caused them to wish for a pit to swallow them right away.

Eun-hee blushed furiously and Jong-in scratched the back of his neck sheepishly.
“Romance in day light,” Jong-in gritted his teeth at his older brother who laughed at slightly annoyed and more embarrassed Jong-in gritting teeth at him. “At least, consider locking doors love birds”.

Eun-hee hid her face in her hands and Jong-in threw a pillow at Jong-dae.

“At least consider waiting for answer after knocking hyung,” Jong-in continued gritting his teeth with a tint of red showing the embarrassing feelings of him that he was dealing with right now and Jong-dae giggled loudly. “I’m married for heaven’s sake”.

“I know” Jong-dae snickered and Jong-in blushed furiously. Eun-hee hid her face under the covers and Jong-in wanted to hit his older brother on the head with something real hard. “But thankfully now you know too”.

Jong-dae smirked and Jong-in just rolled his eyes at him.

“Eun, are you ready, we need to go right now,” Jong-dae called Eun-hee and Jong-in looked at him in confusion. Eun-hee at his call jerked get her head out of the covers and blinked at Jong-dae before she realized she needed to go with Jong-dae and she wasn’t yet ready. “Did you forget about the practice?”

“I’ll be ready in a minute”.

Eun-hee told him with an apologetic look on his face and Jong-dae smiled mischievously towards her, scaring the hell out of her.

“It’s alright,” Jong-dae smirked. “Take your time. Don’t worry your hubby can help you in getting ready”.
Jong-in groaned and Eun-hee snorted. Well, Jong-dae on the other hand gave them an ear to ear smile before shutting the door and leaving them in an awkward and embarrassed situation.
“Always a bad timing”
Jong-in mumbled underneath breath and when Eun-hee gave him a knowing look, both couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

“Shut up!’

Jong-in threw a pillow at her while laughing but she continued laughing and they couldn’t help but continue laughing for a long time together.
