Paper Hearts & Origami Cranes

Kat and Jungkook stood staring at each other for a while. Then Jungkook started smiling while looking at the floor.
"Why are you smiling?"
"Cause, I was just thinking about you," Jungkook gave one of his cute smiles under his mask again. Kat started to blush. She didn't know he would even have time to think about her.
"Well sorry for bumping into you," Kat said trying so hard not to stutter but failed. After that everything became complete silence between them for a couple of minutes until she gained the courage to ask him a question.
"Why were you...thinking of me anyways? The last time we talked was in high school."
"Because of this," Jungkook then pulled out a small, yellow envelope from his pocket. He held it between two of his fingers as he looked away and rocked back and forth on his heels awkwardly. "I um...came across this again and read it again."
"You read it?" Kat said in shock.
"I did," Jungkook then stuffed the envelope back in his pocket. "I read it because I felt...bad for not getting to reply." Both of them stood still now. Jungkook felt embarrassed for everything he said but he was glad to let it out.
"I think I am ready to reply now," he told Kat as he turned to look at her again. They started walking to a bench to sit on so Jungkook could say what he wanted. Once they sat he began to talk.
"I love your letter and I'm sorry I didn't get to reply sooner, but I - I do li-love you," Both of their faces now turned red. "I am shy and didn't show my feelings in high school but I loved that you were smart and kind and you would help everyone, especially me when I was lost in class. I..." It was getting late so Kat decided to interrupt him and pull down his mask since there wasn't as much people around. Jungkook had his mouth partly open in shock. He felt it was easier to talk to her behind his mask where everything was hidden. Now everything wasn't hidden.
"I um - " Kat began as she set his mask down quite awkwardly. Jungkook stopped the words coming from her mouth by grabbing her wrist. She looked up to see Jungkook's face closer to hers than usually, than ever! He put her wrist on top of his shoulder and leaned in to slowly warn her what he was going to do. Their lips laid on each other. Kat's cold lips against Jungkook's warm ones. It lasted a few seconds until Kat's hand was now on his chest. She panted.
"Do you really love me? I just sent a note and -"
"That is one reason why I love you. I am sorry for the sudden weird kiss but I am not lying."
Kat looked down at her hand on his beating chest. She then came to whisper in his ear. "I don't want us to start off with a random kiss or a letter. I want to get to know you even more. Even more than in high school!" Kat stood up now. "Bye see you!" She started walking so suddenly that Jungkook couldn't catch up anymore. He then picked up his mask to find a tiny ripped off piece of paper in it. It read:
You should be happy I had a paper and a permanent ink pen or else you wouldn't have had this - 51244638 ^_^ see you!
